They stand by their merchandise
We have an excellent bricks-and-mortar nursery store close by, which we use for annual purchases, supplies, etc. Have been using Wayside Gardens for more unusual shrubs and perennials. The shipments always arrive in excellent condition, and on the rare occasion that something fails to grow the first year, they make good for a store credit.

Wayside Gardens USED to be my favorite online plant supplier and I ordered from them for years. They were always very quick to rectify problems and the plants were usually in good condition and grew well. Things have changed. This year I ordered several large orders and numerous plants were dead or terribly damaged. When I tried to get them replaced, it took several phone calls and several emails before I got a FEW of the damaged items replaced. I have given up on getting anything else replaced and the last shipment had two dead plants that I am not even going to bother trying to replace because it is too frustrating. I have no idea what happened to this company (unless it is because they are now associated with Park Seed?), but they went from excellent to a 3 star for the quality of the (living) plants and ZERO stars for customer service. I will not be ordering from them again.

Very pleased with the quality of plants, as well as the quality of shipping/ packaging. Nice way to shop from home with an excellent variety of healthy plants. Highly recommend!
My first order was missing 2/3 of the…
My first order was missing 2/3 of the plants and one was completely broken off at the root, then my replacement order ALSO was missing 2/3 of my plants AND they were completely dead and crispy due to the 100 degree weather sitting in a hot truck for delivery. I sent a picture requesting a refund, was told I have to call and every time I do I sit on hold for over 15 minutes and give up. Very disappointed, will NEVER purchase mail order plants again.

A few (2) instances where 2 out 3…
A few (2) instances where 2 out 3 plants of same type arrived near/were dead, an instance where plants never appeared/ broke the surface ( phlox ) and (canna), and an order which was available when ordered, was out of stock when time to ship. 3 stars overall was generous assessment.

Plants came in extremely poor…
Plants came in extremely poor condition. Was told I would get a refund but was only refunded for half of them. The quality was so poor that I wouldn't have taken them even if they were free. I am a very disappointed customer.

I have purchased plants from Wayside Gardens over several years. I can always find 1) what I’m looking for 2) items not found at Home Depot or Lowe’s etc 3) good quality.
Wayside Gardens’ products are predictably healthy and garden ready.
Wayside Gardens’ products always arrive at my door in good condition. Even in hot weather after transport across half the country all the plants need is a little fresh air and a drink of water. Their quality meets or exceeds that of any local nursery.

My experience with Wayside Gardens was terrible. First I placed the order and waited for weeks, when I called to check on the order, the girl that answered the phone was rude, lazy sounding, and unhelpful. I told her that I would like to just cancel the order, and she said I couldn't cancel it because I paid thru my Amazon account and there was no way for them to refund my money. I then waited several more weeks and when the plants arrived, I had many dead plants straight out of the box. I took pictures of them immediately and emailed Wayside gardens with the pictures of the dead plants, and never got a response to my email.
I will never order from Wayside Gardens again.

I recently got an order that I placed…
I recently got an order that I placed with Wayside a three pack Verbena set back in April. I just received it about four or five weeks ago. The plants were shipped from Parkseed and arrived in terrible shape . They we're almost dead and the usual careful packaging was not there. Usually the plants come in healthy with straw tucked in around plants and still most. These were completely dried out. I have tried to send an email to both Parkseed and Wayside along with a picture of the plants right after unpacking. I have heard nothing from either company. I usually get my products well and have had no problems until now. Very disappointed in customer service. I have been a customer for many years and ordered many plants.

Not really pleased
Not really pleased. Ordered three items - viburnum, honeysuckle and lavender munstesd. First two are doing fine. Lavender 5 or the 6 showed up in horrid shape. Did get a credit.

1 week after placing order I had…
1 week after placing order I had received no news or confirmation. I called wayside and learned they needed clarification regarding my address. If I had not called, Seems my order would have sat in limbo for who knows how long. Majority or plants I purchased arrived either dead or rotting. That was definitely the last order I will place with wayside.

Plants arrived dead and could not be replaced and I did not receive a full refund. Waste of my time and effort and money. I will never order again. Rise up! Live up to your commitments!

half dead plant delivery
Requested a delayed delivery date and it came on date I requested. However the plants I received looked like they were placed in the box for delivery when I ordered them and then left for 3 weeks closed in the box before delivery. The plants were mostly dried out, yellow leafed, and scraggly. I went ahead and repotted the with good soil,and watered well. It look 3 weeks for half of them to recover. The rest died.
OST probably will not order from Wayside again. Particularly if asking for delayed delivery date.

Customer Service is non-responsive even after repeated emails. Too bad, because for the most part i was very satisfied with the flowers.

I was promised a refund for some plants…and rec'd
while some of the plants had dried up, I received a full refund for the damaged plants. Ordering annuals, beware. Perennials are fine.

No updates, 1/2 of the plants did not survive
No shipping updates, even after an email inquiry; The order was split into two deliveries, and two charges. The first delivery was almost dead on arrival, the second is holding on. My mother in law felt bad about telling me this gift had died, or I would have contacted Wayside. She tried very hard to save the plants, but they didn't live. Sadly, of course, it was the more expensive part of the order. I just think I wouldn't order again given that, and the lack of communication after purchase.
