I'm not sure if this group is a real charity. Not sure the gents I spoke too were actually real veterans.
I got talking to two chaps about the cause as I like to donate to veterans that need help and thought I would play with them a little by challenging them with the numbers game (always nice to top a crowbag). When asked they both looked completely perplexed at what I said which put me on edge straight away. I've not known a serviceman not know the numbers game.
I then asked to hear their service numbers to which one refused and the other said he couldn't remember. For a soldier or a veteran, knowing your service number is like knowing the back of your hand, it's not something you would easily forget.
The lads seemed nice enough, but I think they could have been fake veterans to hopefully push the promotion of a cause. It's either that or the whole thing could be a scam. I should have asked to see their charity number but I hurried away without giving them anything as it didn't feel right.

I really cannot get my head around all the hats on here who are giving we r blighty grief. All this talk of finances and aggressive fundraising tactics is becoming a bit boring when fuelled by an anonymous admin from the Walter Mitty Cnuts club. This CIC has done nothing but be good to me and an oppo and it’s laughable that the hats on here who give them sh I t e have clearly never needed the help and support I have been given by this CIC. To put it into perspective of course some fundraising money has to go to the Vets that are doing it from 9-5 in muggy conditions, to the admin staff, overheads, advertising etc. How do you Walter Mitty “hunter” muppets think any organisation works? All I can say is I’ve been looked after and I know of another 12 Vets who are currently being supported. I was offered a 3 bedroom house in Wales just a few days ago rent free by We R Blighty but that isn’t geographically workable for me in my current circumstances but another vet has got it and I hope he thrives.

To the Walter Mitty Hunters Club who in my eyes are a bunch of silly little fuckwits who most probably did about a year in the cub scouts. Get your shi t together, target the real Walts like yourselves because I am targeting you now and my aim is still pretty shi t hot. Oh and as a passing note, to whoever the admin is for the Walter Mitty Hunters Club (funny how you blocked me as you didn’t like what I had to say) if you have the balls to stick your head above the parapet (which I strongly suspect you never have in your likely short fuelled military careers) then contact me directly at plumbs bootneck @hotmail.com and we will have a little chin wag. I don't tend to do this sort of thing, as I find it largely futile because it's already well documented that some 'charities' (or a CIC, in this particular case) like to line their own pockets and still beg for your cash despite paying their CEOs eye watering amounts.

In this particular case, I'll go out my way to write this as the British Public needs to know about this bunch.

'We R Blighty' is a CIC (Community Interest Company) which was set up by Ben Mills, a former soldier, who (allegedly) aims to assist former UK military who are struggling with Civi Street, with your donations.

To keep this short and to the point, I won't go into Ben Mills' alleged unscrupulous background, his own brother alledgedly making (Louis, who is a major player in Mills outfit) false claims of military service or the aggressive tactics employed by his largely non - Service donation street collectors.

I'll stick to the facts Ben Mills 'We R Blighty' uses your donations in this way -

- 50% is taken by Ben Mills
- 25% is to the street collectors
- 25% is for logistics of the CIC.

Ben Mills occasionally throws a few quid at a homeless soldier for some likes on social media.

That's your hard earned cash reader, either keep it and stop feathering Mills' nest or donate it to a real charity.

Ben, from one ex - squaddie to another, you are allowed to make mistakes but my empathy fails when you continue to make the same mistakes. Please shut your shop, donate every last bent penny you have gained with your falsehoods to the British Legion and come clean to the Military Community.

Do the right thing. You can still come back from this.

Won't reveal Regiments and Service dates after claiming to be Veterans.
Won't reveal financial records to show where money collected goes.
Don't get Council Approval to set up collections and then run when challenged.
Complete bunch of scammer.
If you see them challenge them, they will run!

We R Blighty are a veterans charity who go above and beyond to help veterans no matter the struggle.
Whether it is with homelessness, food or anything else they truly are champions in genuinely being there for veterans in there darkest times.
Ben and the team do everything they can to ease the suffering or hardship of veterans and they really deserve all the praise in the world for everything they do.

Arrogant, pushy, and thinly veiled aggression are the words I would use to describe the staff of this money collection agency. This is not a charity as they claim and a tiny percentage is actually used to support anyone other than the 'chuggers' and the guy at the top of this particular pyramid scheme. They have no affiliation to known charities and will use a copy of Soldier magazine to lend credence to their nefarious activities. Avoid at all costs.

This is not a charity but a set of con men making money for their company directors avoid and give to a real charity not these lowlives !

As the main director is ex service man, he should be helping other veterans and not exploiting them for his own gains.

Con merchants. 50% of the collection goes directly to Mills and the rest goes to the collector.

Was not overly impressed by the street collector in Canterbury and was invited to discuss further with ‘head office’ who would be able to provide answers…The questions were…..What was the total income from street collections in your last financial year? What was your total spend on Veteran welfare? What was your total spend on commissions & running costs? As WeRBlighty (a registered CIC) has never published any accounts in detail ….perhaps answers are due? In the meantime, don’t give them a penny - Support the RBL! & avoid the chancers who are lining their own pockets!

EDIT. 27th Sept 2024. It is claimed below that my questions are ‘lies’. Perhaps if WeRBlighty actually answered the valid questions truthfully then they would be seen for what they really are. In the meantime, refusal to answer reasonable questions - many from the very people they purport to fundraise for - can lead to only one conclusion! Bunch of scheming scammers.

Bunch of lying con artist. When asked his service number he tried getting aggressive. I actually served, so I soon shut his mouth.

They claim they serve the armed forces direct, but having checked this with various MoD offices, this is not the case, in fact they are being looked at by the MoD in regard to these claims.

Falsely claiming to be supporting veterans, and even have staff who have pretended to have had military service, only to have been exposed as complete pauses and Walt’s! Basically a bunch of rogues who have really upset real veterans! Claims of funding for veterans yet no accounting to show that, hmmm, no wonder certain organisations are interested in them!

Section 60 of the Charities Act 2011 states it is an offence for any person to knowingly or recklessly provide the Commission with false or misleading information, which We Are Blighty have done and are being investigated for at last! And due to registered with Companies House the claimed charity donations are being looked at conjointly.

Avoid them at all costs

To think that these are ripping off the British public is totally disgraceful, and the fact that veterans are giving them negative reviews says it all…

The false accounting of a company and said donations to charity is finally being investigated, and only a matter of time before it all comes crashing down for Benny and his scammers.

90% of what they take is kept and spent on ‘expenses’ Most of the collectors pretend to be ex serviceman but are not. They are also aggressive and never are in possession of a council permit to collect. Stay well clear

Sadly alleged charities like this stop money going to the people who actually need it to use for genuine reasons.

These SCUMBAGS are scammers your paying there wages. Do NOT donate to these crooks, most of the will tell you there Veterans there NOT! IF I could give zero I would.

This company is fraudulent. 85-90% of donations go towards 'admin costs'. DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO THEM. Do some research first

Ben & His team are very professional… Ben as a veteran himself understands the lads a really wants to help us. I’ve found out of all the organisations I’ve been referred too RBL. Saffa. Bikers. These are hands down the best. I needed help a within the hour I was helped and called by Ben personally. I don’t know any other organisation that moves that fast for anyone. Forever in debt to Ben and his team massively. Thank you so much. ☺️

These people are pretending to be ex service personnel and take more than they give.. Scamming hard earned money from honest people to line their dirty pockets. DONT DONATE..ask to see their permits and ask how much commission they take.. then take a picture and flood Facebook with it to warn others. They are also using a legit magazine to try to bluff people.. Watch out for these con artists

The team at we r Blighty have been fantastic. They have provided me with hotel accommodation whilst also helping me to find more permanent lodgings. They have also provided help with my mental health and regularly check in with me to see if the can offer further help. Thanks
