À propos de l'entreprise
Écrit par l'entreprise
Trolled by The Walter Mitty Hunters Club HQ since April 2023. For those unaware of this hate page, it is run by an Anonymous admin. The benefit of being Anonymous means accusations like you are seeing do not matter if they are true or false, as no identity means no liability. Few of these trolls are ex forces and many are fake accounts. We advise researching them and not at face value. Court cases, police investigations and media outings for their wrong information. We R Blighty is a real organisation with veterans involved and supporting real veterans that can all be verified. This is a dark corner of the armed forces community and we recommend you stay as clear from these trolls as possible. Anyone not on their pay roll has the same opinion. Military and civilian!!! Be Walter Mitty Aware!!!!!

Scam artists pretending to be veterans…
Scam artists pretending to be veterans of which they are not, deceiving the public to obtain donations and using stolen valor for their own financial gain, this type of action should be criminalized.
Do not donate, it does not help veterans.

Con artist parasites
I have given these concerns artist 1 star as you can't give none. I had a run in with one of their parasite chugger in Henley. When I asked to see his ID badge he became abusive to me and called me a spastic c#nt. Funny how he claimed to be collecting for homeless and disabled veterans but had just been abusive to one. Told the store manager and showed them all the gen on these scammers, and he kicked them out. Don't give them a penny as nearly all of it will end up in their pockets.

Not a charity
Not a charity, but a Ltd company set up to gather 'donations' and pay the company. A little of the collections goes to selected charities for which a letter of thanks is returned. This letter is used to con the donating public into believing they are genuine. Nothing but gold plated con artists.

A deliberately deceptive organisation who dress half truths up in hope it will con passers-by its parting with their cash for the profit of their management and collectors above the armed forces community they claim to support. Challenging their methods will reveal a response that gives the game away. Steer clear and donate to legitimate charities ( this is not a charity to allow skirting by the regulations).

Glib liars
Glib liars. At best thieves at worst scammers poncing off the public. Fagin and his urchins lurking on street corners with sealed collection tins but when challenged get nasty and confrontational. The worst pondlife out there.

To all of the trolls that follow the Walter Mitty Hunters Club HQ it’s time to get a life. We R Blighty is a C.I.C. and set up to support veterans and that is exactly what it does and does it well. Not one review on here is putting down the efforts towards our veterans instead all about how the organisation is set up, which is completely legal. Do your homework correctly and stop living in the past. All charities and organisations use paid fundraising it’s 2024 and staff get paid the main thing is veterans get the help they need. Go and pick a fight with the charities that have over 1500 paid employees and the CEO being paid £200,000 while We R Blighty is picking up the slack on the homeless situation. Uneducated!!!
Not a Charity
Not a Charity - despite what the smart "ex Soldier" outside Tescos might indicate.
Using the plight of some of our poor ex servicemen and women to rip off the public.
Donate to the British Legion instead.

Réponse de We R Blighty
Not a charity but maybe doing good work.
The affable 'salesman' outside Waitrose, Belgravia made it clear they were not a charity and he was taking a percentage of the take.
It did look like they were endorsed by Waitrose but this was not the case.
The 'salesman/collector' did give me a card which i did actually pass on to a homeless 'veteran' called Lee. Maybe it turned out well for Lee. I hope so.

No stars for this organisation
No stars for this organisation - they were canvassing outside M&S previously but have been moved on and are now outside Aldi in Whitstable. People are handing over their money believing that it is connected to Royal British legion - it is not! This is a private company.

I have donated a few times to. We are Blighty and was made aware the first time that they had an online troll. They told me to look into this and to form my own opinion based on their website and the trolls and I did and I just want to say a massive thank you to the we are Blighty team for making such a huge difference. Keep your head up guys!

This "charity" is not what you think it is. I came across them earlier today collecting cash outside the M&S in Whitstable.
We R Blighty is NOT a charity. It is registered as a Community Interest Company, which means that they avoid all oversight from the Charities Commission. They present to the general public as if they were a charity, but this is false and designed to persuade you to donate.
I would recommend donating to the Royal British Legion if you wish to donate and support our servicemen - this is a genuine charity for the armed forces.
UPDATE @ 27/9/24:
Despite the response from We R Blighty below, this company is now attempting to have my review removed with Trustpilot.
Effectively, they are trying to cancel my independent views.
Whilst what they write in their response is correct, at public donation gathering events, which is my direct experience with them, they present misleading to imply to passers-by that they are a charity. They are not. This is the problem.

Réponse de We R Blighty
We r scammers
We r blighty are simply scammers using the we help veterans card. I nearly gave over my cash until a man stepped forward and showed me how they operate.
Now how odd that there are either one star reviews or five! The ones with five are fake and Mr mills knows it.
If you plan to donate please do some research and see how many times he has closed business changed directors etc.

Just awful
Just awful. They have been in my town "collecting " for veterans, but when I asked questions about what percentage goes to the veterans they didn't know and got a little defensive, patronising and rude. I left without donating and encourage EVERYONE not to.
26/9/24
So...you asked for my response so here it is. You ask me to provide the percentages of the top 6 armed forces charities, so firstly...that's not my place to provide that information HOWEVER it's also not professional of your sfaff/volunteers to get rude and aggressive when asked a simple question about how much of my £ goes to the charity and how much goes on paying staff etc. It was a question I ask whenever I donate to a charity.. The reality is that in order to make a good and positive impression (which is essential for ANY business or charity) it's probably best to not be rude and aggressive towards the very public you're asking for money. I have read the negative reviews and they are ALL predominantly saying the same thing. Ultimately, it's your organisation, run it how you want but you can't speak to people with such little respect
26/9/24 part 2
My experience happened on the date I posted my original review. Over 2 months ago. The purpose of this site is to review places, businesses, charities etc so others can make a decision as to whether they wanted to use or support etc. The problem with going down the official complaints path (especially when it's a closed complaint system) is that there is no transparency for other's to see the complaints or outcomes. As I don't work for any of the other charities I couldn't comment on the percentage they use but for example Oxfam (when I donated) advised that 60p in every £ goes to the charity (not on wages etc). I'm not nor was I asking you to give me your accounts nor was I asking to be spoken to in a rude and aggressive manner. If you believe a review to be fake then challenge that with Trustpilot. I will end by saying to the public reading this
If you have donated and or had a good experience then leave positive reviews if you want to donate then use your own judgement. For me I didn't have a good experience and won't donate but that doesn't mean you shouldn't.
And on that note, I'm finished with this conversation

I Donated my 25-foot Liveaboard River…
I Donated my 25-foot Liveaboard River Cruiser in December 2023 in good faith to We R Blighty, and within just a few weeks, Ben Mills had placed a vulnerable veteran on it.
I regularly visit the HQ in Sandwich, Kent, to check on my boat's condition and We R Blighty's progress. On each visit, I find my boat both occupied as intended and well maintained. I also meet new Veterans whom We R Blighty is helping get their lives back on track and provide a roof over their heads. I do not know what all the negative reviews are about.
This isn't a charity, it's a private company
This isn't a charity and they don't behave like one either. They are loudly claiming they are collecting for veterans and are using the words Royal British Legion as if they are connected to them in any way.
