They paid out my first withdrawal out one day after requesting a payout but than I requested another payout on the 23rd of December and it’s currently the 5th of January and I’ve still not received my payment cause it’s still pending & on the website it says it takes always 1-10 days , it’s been 12 days and still nothing . My friends who created this back a buddy campaign to pay for their studies says they have the same issue , payouts has been pending ?? Back a buddy what’s up???

It's only beneficial if you are white since most donors are white and prefer to donating to white people only. I created a fundraising and later saw whites with the similar fundraising as mine get donations while mine is still at 0. So colour plays a huge role. I also saw a black guy who's needing funds for eye surgery before he becomes blind and no donations he got but whites who posted later with the similar problems already raised close to R500 000.

I recently started a campaign to raise funds for an athletics championship in the USA. I have emailed the finance department and Carly on a few occasions requesting information on where my donations are as my friends have donated and have proof yet the donations aren’t reflecting but my friends have received thank you emails regarding their donations!!! I am deeply concerned! Where are my donations? Why doesn’t the finance department respond???? After reading all these reviews I am very upset! Where is the honesty? Don’t use Backabuddy!

I had a terrible experience with BackaBuddy. I donated to a campaign, and the money was deducted from my account. However, the next day, I received an email stating that the donation wasn’t completed. The funds never went to the campaign, and the money is still missing from my account. Despite reaching out, I haven’t received any response from BackaBuddy.

A loving gesture turned into a horrible experience. This lack of transparency and accountability is deeply concerning—just stay away.

Shortly after launching a BackaBuddy campaign and sharing it with family and friends, I faced issues. The setup process was bogged down by excessive policies, ironically framed as improving "customer experience." Alarmed by these red flags, I immediately canceled the campaign.

BackaBuddy then refused to refund donor funds, citing their policies. It’s baffling how they accept money so easily but refuse to return it when a campaign is canceled. Only after escalating the issue publicly on Facebook, with donors themselves commenting to request refunds, did they refund the money—minus their fees.

My recommendation: funds should not be accepted unless they can be refunded promptly if needed.

Adding to the concern, comments from others with similar complaints, including our donors, have vanished from Facebook.

Utter disaster! Have been unable to login to my account and donors unable to donate to mycampaign as link is still broken three days later.
At a crucial time in the campaign to raise funds to get my daighters to the World Karate Championships my Backabuddy account is inaccessible and my funding campaign link broken, with crucially needed funds stuck inside.
I have been in contact with Backabuddy "support" on email (a woman named Jessica) WhatsApp, Messenger and numerous phone calls to support, one with a screaming baby in the background,but still they appear unable and/or unwilling to help, despite the urgency.
Looking increasingly like a scam.
Avoid them at all costs.

I have attempted to use your platform on numerous occasions to support the same person. Thus far, all attempts have failed. I spoke to my bank directly after the latest failed attempt, and they traced the attempted payment and have come to the conclusion that your payment page times-out before the transaction is complete. Due to stricter UK fraudulent claims rules, banks need more time to process payments, up to four minutes. Maybe you could make adjustments to your system to allow for this.

Raising urgently needed funds for a family who have endured the husband having a stroke and a house fire within a couple of days. Lost everything except clothes on their backs. Despite numerous attempts to sort out payout issues, the customer service ignored all my attempts for the weekend and today continue to make life as difficult as possible. Almost to the point where I wonder whether they do it on purpose so that they can sit on the money for longer earning interest? Suddenly this afternoon there is another issue with the fire report I sent them.....why did they not raise this problem last week when I queried?? They won't even commit to a definite payout date once I send them the final document this evening???? May take 3 days she said ???

DISGUSTING!!! Back a Buddy, don't write some BS response to this, I'm sick and tired of hearing sorry and we'll do our best....just get my issue resolved!!

Can you please answer your WhatsApp or respond to mails? I have been trying you since last week.

I have requested for support since 20-06-2024 for our boy's youth camp for September for our organization it's not that much we requested but we haven't been noticed nothing. And I had to close other 2 campaigns thinking that maybe I wrote something wrong. But no donation at all. You see new campaigns but they being noticed right away.

I have been using Back-a-Buddy to raise funds for a music program since 2022.

This is hands down the most reliable and efficient crowdfunding service I have used.

It's been 11 days today. No one has helped me. I request you all to help my family.

I started an a campaign for an organization I help out. The campaign is Nelson Mandela Day's Drive , I started the campaign at around 27th April and I haven't received any update or anything regarding the campaign. I would really love to get help and donations to continue with my plan for Mandela day

They don’t even deserve one star. They don’t make payments that are due to our campaign. Been waiting since 9may for a payout. Please avoid this company at all costs. They are theives.

In January 2024, I opened a Back Buddy account to fund my children's university education and was pleasantly surprised by the donations received. The payout process was smooth, with funds split between the two universities and payments made directly to their accounts. However, our circumstances changed, and I decided to close the account.

On May 8, 2022, I requested the remaining funds but did not complete the urgent payout forms as the situation was not urgent. Despite the website's claim of a 10-day processing time, I have yet to receive the money, which is marked as "PAID" in my campaign account. After numerous calls and inquiries, I was informed today that payments are delayed due to a high volume of transactions. I am still waiting for a clear answer on the status of my funds.

It is very difficult to use this platform from countries outside South Africa. It seems to fairly consistently be offline. I’m in the US and have donated a few times to one cause. The first few times I tried to donate. Nothing. Then I made 3 donations over a brief period that went through. Today, I have tried 5x to donate and PayPal is again not accepting it. The issue is not PayPal, because it was fine when I used it yesterday and earlier today. The issue is coming from BaB.

Didn't know about Backabuddy. A friend I don't really know, send me the link. It was excellent service!!!! Might just get the chance to walk again after one long year!!!!
