Benz Travel Avis 

Disgusted with this travel company who are based, or their business address, is in Mayfair, London. We arrived in Goa on Christmas Eve with our prepaid voucher, to be told that the suite was not available and that the hotel had emailed Expedia to tell them. Why Expedia? Because Eric at Benz Travel had told me he had spoken to the hotel, whereas all he had done was book the room through Expedia.
Whilst in another hotel, a couple were frantically searching for a flight home to London as Benz Travel had not confirmed their flight. I say run for the hills rather than have anything to do with Benz Travel! 🤬

This review is for Citrus Holidays (a division of Benz Travel) My partner and I booked the Southeast Asia vacation package with Citrus Holidays slated departure March 10, 2020 with finalized payment February 29, 2020. We were notified on March 4 that the original flight we booked (and paid and upgrade for) was canceled. We were offered another option at no cost, however, this new schedule had more layovers and significantly longer ground times. We replied immediately that the new schedule did not suite our needs and we did not want to complicate our travels by traveling through the US. (Our original flight was Canada to Korea to Singapore). We also noted that we initially paid an upgrade and that this should be taken into consideration. Citrus presented us with 4 other options at additional fees of $350 upwards to $1050 (all still had double to triple the amount of ground time vs. our original itinerary) which was completely unacceptable.

We asked that either Citrus absorb the fee or we would have to cancel and request for a refund (1st request).

We did our due diligence and followed up with Citrus all Thursday and Friday since they did not update us. We are literally left with 2 business days to organize the vacation. We stressed over and over again the urgency of the matter. Friday evening Citrus replied back offering the same American flight. “I understand that you wanted options going via other countries, but we have only been offered options via USA since KE no longer goes to Singapore” We refuse the option and make our 2nd request for refund. Magically, they offer another option almost immediately. Of course, they want us to pay extra.

We explain that we had already stretched our budget with our initial booking and upgrade. The lack of communication from Citrus for 2 days made it impossible to get all our personal effects organized with one business day left until departure (3rd & 4th request for refund).

Saturday morning – they offered to split the difference with us – which is appreciated but should have happened on Wednesday morning. Citrus is still trying to sell us on going through with the vacation at this point. They had no intentions of looping in their customer care team to start the refund process. We refuse to accept the final offer due to poor communication and timing (we are supposed to fly out Tuesday morning). This is our 5th & 6th request to cancel. Now they tell me they do not have sufficient time to arrange cancellations with their vendors (even though they did not provide proof of hotel and travel confirmations). We gave them ample time to make cancelation arrangements had they took our requests into consideration on Wednesday morning.

Now, we have heard nothing but generic “please be patient, we are looking into the matter” responses. Please be cautious reading all these great and wonderful reviews. Especially when the reviewers have only posted once or twice. I’m sure this company isn’t all bad – as long as there are no hiccups along the way to your final destination. Do your due diligence.

I am a older person and do not like using the computer to book and Especially to follow a link to pay money but I did it with the help of a very nice young man called Oliver I hope all goes well for me

It was a great service and Ian have been very helpful for the past few weeks finding the best flight for me

Andrew at Benz Travel went the extra mile to help me when I caused a difficult situation with the airline, he stuck with me throughout when we had trouble staying in contact and I managed to get on my holiday.
Highly recommended.

After going back and forth with GLEN on book flights, we decided on flights to malaga which cost us £2411(which I think is expensive as when I checked flights myself after I was fed up, booking yourself can be cheaper). Glen booked flights and I asked that he give me details of booking so I can check in, he said no, I cant have details, they check you in themselves. I kept calling over and over to confirm check in to no avail. we arrive at the airport and we were told we had to pay for check in 315pounds. I was on the phone to kate for an 1hr trying to resolve, at the end she said I had to pay, she cant help but they will refund. by the time we pd and rushed to the gate, we missed our flights. we had go back home with 3 upset children, long story short, we had to book another flight ourselves as they will not take responsibility. Holiday was in OCT, am still expecting my refund for the check in, as Glen was responsible. I would definitely not recommend Benz travel to my Worst enemy...now they send me emails asking if want to book another holiday!!!!!! Really. Refund my check in cost is all am asking, I have accepted my fate in relation to every other unexpected cost incurred.

The service i received from your sales team was second to none.
Neil went that extra mile to meet my travel needs and was very helpful.
I will definitely recommend Benz travel to my family and friends.

They have put me off booking flights for the rest of my life.

Be aware of the positive reviews on trust pilot, they are written by the company themselves and are utterly fake.

They take your money, confirm everything is booked and then call you randomly 4 days later to say prices have gone up.

They always make sure they are covered as per their dubious Terms and Conditions. They are so unhelpful.

Avoid ALOT OF stress ... just pay extra elsewhere for peace of mind.

Victor from Benz Travel is very helpful looking for the best flight relevant to my request and successfully got me the best flight. Thank you very much.

All positive reviews on trustpilot are fake, written by the company themselves ! Avoid at all costs!

They will sell you a flight, take the payment / deposit. Then call you back to say the flight no longer exists at the agreed price.

They did this to us. We booked a package holiday for £1090 pp and they called me 2 days after taking my payment to say the original flights do not exist at the agreed price and instead have to pay £100 pp more to have the same flight or fly from an airport much further away! How are they allowed to do this! They are such crooks.

Then they told us the hotel has already been booked and if we don’t pay the £100 extra we have to cancel for which we have to pay a penalty of £75 each.

They are so sneaky and sly. Read the small print on their website which allows them to increase holiday prices by 8% despite agreeing to a lower fare and taking a deposit too.

Horrendous experience - so stressful and they are so sweet when they want your money but when they get it they don’t want to know you.

Stay away at all costs no matter how cheap the flights look. Not worth the stress.

Andrew rushed me into booking the wrong dates, every though i told him the exact dates i could go and that i could go on these dates he was trying to sell me as i have work. He Then tried to take payment before i had even seen an itinerary. Just kept rushing me trying to get me to buy so i missed the tiny print of the date back, which was not the one i had told him i wanted and i then paid and got the wrong dates. Wouldnt of been a problem if he hadn't been rushing me and talking constantly trying to get me to book it and id had time to read.
