Bunnings the place that has everything

I absolutely love going to bunnings. Evrrytime I need something for my garden projects or home improvement or maintance tasks they have everything I need. They'll explain to me how to use s tool if needed. What information I need to bring with me so I dont just guess and have to keep going back. Ive never had to wait very long to checkout and staff are friendly. Plenty of parking

To start I'm not blaming the young…

To start I'm not blaming the young worker who tried to help me .
He/She was terrific but didn't know enough to really help me but he/she did his/her best.
10 years ago I would walk into Bunnings and have about 5 workers asking me if I needed any help.
How things have changed.
Now it's near impossible to find a member of staff to help you.
Bunnings surely could hire more staff and stop thinking of there profit and loss sheet and start thinking of there customers.
To anyone who reads this try one of the other large hardware stores and you will notice the difference.

TRADES DESK REGISTER - NO FLYBUYS OR ONEPASS POINTS

If you are counting on your Flybuys and Onepass points Do not purchase items at the Trades Desk Bunnings Norlane, because they are not recorded. This has happened to me TWICE and Bunnings havent even got the descency to apologise for the inconvenience of having to spend approx 6 hours of my time trying to chase this up and get it fixed. All their other registers provide the points but NOT the TRADES DESK. This is against the LAW

Worst experience in my life

I had a big job, so I ordered through Bunnings Trade, they told me it would be easier, so I paid the invoice that was sent to my phone via text message.

I rang the store twice to make sure the product would be available on the day of the job, they Said that the order had been "picked" and it was ready.

When I arrived, no one knew anything about my order, they made me stand around for half an hour, while they talked to each other about family ECT.

I had to ask 4 to 5 times where is my order?

Finally someone printed out my order receipt and said "Go find someone in the timber yard".

Another 2o minutes past, no one was interested in helping, finally I persuaded a young man to help, I had to go with him to check the stock to find out, that they did not have enough for my order.

I went back to the trade desk, the man told me " if you want my advice you should go to another store".

I had to cancel the order and the job, I asked for a refund and they said they would process the refund straight away.

2 weeks pass and still no refund, I called 10 times over the next week, they kept telling me " we understand your frustration, however, we have notified the banking team and it is getting sorted".

I had to dispute the transaction and ring consumer fair trade.

After 3 and a half weeks they processed the refund, no apology, just saying " we had complications with our new " Stripe payment method but it's fixed now".

I lost the job and the had to wait close to four weeks for that.

I will never use bunnings again, don't do it, there staff are not trained and never give the right advice.

Helpful staff, quick click and collect

Good range of tools and timber, staff on the floor were quick to point me in the right direction when I couldnt find what I needed. Click and collect order was ready faster than expected too. Prices are fair for the quality on offer.

Purchase cancelled without notification

I ordered a product on-line via click and collect later yesterday, not as many as I wanted as the website said only one in stock. Paid for it and received an invoice. Went to pick it up today and guess what - no stock. So Bunnings refunded my money but didn't send me a notification that they had done so or that the desired product was out of stock. Wasted trip, pretty poor inventory management, pretty poor customer service.

Ordered wallpaper online

Ordered wallpaper online. Immediately realised on closer inspection of enlarged photo that in the floral vase pattern there is a snake amongst the flowers in vases. Within seconds tried to stop order.
Realised bunnings quick to accept an order but trying to stop or change an online order is ridiculously impossible. Their website is slow and inefficient except to accept payment. I emailed to cancel. I also rang first day open before 9 am and told 101 min queue wait. Awaiting their call back.Terrible service. Their online ordering and contact needs to be cleaned up. Temu is 100% easier to cancel or change an order. I am very disheartened. We shop in bunnings weekly. It feels disloyal.

Very disappointing experience

Very disappointing experience. I drove all the way from Hurstville to Bunnings Gladesville specifically because of the plant shown in the advertisement. When I arrived, a staff member told me that the photos used online were not necessarily photos of the actual plants available and that these images are used to attract customers to the store.

I found this extremely misleading. I wasted my time and fuel travelling to the store based on advertising that, according to the staff member, did not accurately represent the product available. Customers deserve honest and accurate advertising. I hope Bunnings reviews this practice and ensures that product images reflect what customers can actually purchase.

Just in case Bunnings forgot, misleading is a crime in Australia.

BEST TIME AT THE CHECKOUT

We waited in line for a short time we were served by a lady by the name of KERRY, Well what an experience it was such a fresh experience Customer service was excellent her willingness to make our checkout so much fun, she was so funny we laughed all the way back to the car, it was good old fashioned customer service. Which has been lacking in the past, she sure has the “Gift of the gab” a rare find these day's, we don’t care how long the line up is at her checkout she’s worth waiting for. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK KERRY ( we can only hope others learn from her unique service) we had to use Kerry email address as we have no internet where we live( west of Chillogoe). We only come into town once a month to get supplies BUNNINGS is our go too for our property maintenance.

Bunnings Have a Blacklist

If I could give Bunnings ZERO stars I would. I tried to get a job there and I found out that they have a BLACKLIST. People that Bunnings refuse to employ and I am on that BLACKLIST. They have an internal system whereby the have a question, Rehire Yes/No. I have been deemed NO to rehire. The reason they gave was that I gave them a bad review on Google. Talk about precious!!

So just know if you have applied for jobs at Bunnings and haven't gotten the job, it's probably because you are on the BLACKLIST!!

Bunnings cannington

Bunnings cannington, will never shop there again, profiled as soon as you walking in to purchase light globes, made to wait in the aisle for a "representative" to come and assist getting the right product. Made to wait and wait and wait. And then told particular item can only be bulk purchased, which had never been the case before. Question as to why items in the past were placed on shelves singularly were handballed from staff to staff with no real answer. Then treated like a complete pig on the way out.
Will never shop at any bunnings again.

Why I No Longer See Bunnings Burleigh the Same Way

For almost four years, I have supported a young man with Down syndrome, three of those while he has worked at Bunnings Burleigh. During that time, I have watched not only his personal growth but also the development of several other employees with disabilities.

When he started, I believed Bunnings understood inclusion. Employment transformed his confidence, communication, independence and sense of purpose, and I witnessed similar growth in others. For many, Bunnings was more than a workplace; it was somewhere they felt valued, capable and connected.
Unfortunately, my perception changed after a leadership change in October 2025. Within a short time, several long-serving and highly respected employees, including some with almost twenty years' service, left the business. While staff turnover is inevitable, losing so many experienced and respected people so quickly raises questions.

My greatest concern is the impact on employees with disabilities. Much of their mentoring and support came not through formal programs but from dedicated staff who invested their time to help them succeed, creating an environment where vulnerable workers felt safe and confident.

Several employees with disabilities became highly competent on the registers, with some identifying discrepancies others overlooked. Their work was genuine and valuable. I was concerned when employees who had successfully worked on the registers for years were removed and reassigned.
When I sought an explanation, I was told cash handling had become "high risk". Having watched these employees perform the role safely and competently for years, I struggle to reconcile that explanation with reality.

Anyone experienced in supporting people with Down syndrome understands the importance of routine. Stability and familiarity are fundamental to confidence and wellbeing, and significant changes should be introduced thoughtfully and with consultation. While businesses may make operational decisions, they should genuinely consider their impact on vulnerable employees.

What troubled me most was the human consequences. I witnessed one employee become distressed after losing a role she had loved. Another took months to adjust to changes many would consider minor. These reactions are consistent with what support workers, families and disability professionals understand about routine and predictability.

The young man I support also expressed anxiety about losing register duties that had become an important part of his week. It had taken well over a year to build the confidence for him to perform the role independently.

Bunnings Burleigh was once a workplace I enthusiastically praised. It felt welcoming, supportive and inclusive. Today it feels very different. I continue to respect many staff members whose kindness and commitment remain exceptional. My concern is not with them but with decisions that appear to overlook those most affected.

What makes this harder to understand is what happened next. Around two weeks after employees with disabilities were removed from the registers because cash handling was deemed "high risk", the young man I support was asked to return because the store was short-staffed. This has happened repeatedly since.

I do not raise this to criticise frontline staff responding to operational demands. Rather, it exposes an inconsistency. If someone is considered too high-risk to perform a role they have undertaken competently for years, why are they considered suitable whenever staffing pressures arise? That inconsistency undermines the credibility of the original explanation and raises legitimate questions about whether other factors influenced the decision.

An organisation's commitment to inclusion is not measured by marketing or public statements. It is measured by how it treats its most vulnerable employees when difficult decisions are made.
Based on what I have witnessed, I sincerely hope Bunnings Burleigh reflects on the direction it is taking and remembers the values that once made it such a positive place for people with disabilities to work and thrive.

As mentioned previously,all self…

As mentioned previously, all self service counters closed, only one pay isle open with a decent wait queue then after paying I’m harassed and asked for my receipt from an elderly employee who’s 3 ft away from the register and had watched me pay, what a joke.
I left feeling treated like a thief, honestly Bunnings, wake up,put the old bloke to good use and open up another pay aisle to reduce wait time, not treat every customer like a thief

I recently needed help to purchase…

I recently needed help to purchase plaster products, I was lucky enough to meet Reece Griffen who took me to the products and guided me through my purchase. Reece being a tradie was very knowledgeable and helpful, providing carry to the car service. Thank you Reece you are an asset to Bunnings! Regards Hayley Ellis
