An Amazing Journey that Changed Everything

Joining the BCA when I launched my coaching business in April was one of the best decisions I made. The guidance, resources, and support were truly invaluable throughout my journey.

The frameworks and tools provided by the BCA played a significant role in helping me achieve consistent success and growth in my business.

I’m now transitioning into a new chapter, having agreed to a buyout with one of my engineering clients—soon becoming the sole owner of an engineering company. While I’ll be closing my coaching business, the skills and confidence I gained through the BCA will continue to benefit me in this next phase.

I’m incredibly grateful for everything I’ve learned. Highly recommended to anyone serious about elevating their business, mindset, and long-term success.

Watching your journey from “cynical about whether this would work” back in April to invoicing consistently, turning around clients, and then being asked to step in and ultimately buy into an engineering company has been incredible.

One thing I really respect is that you didn’t treat BCA as some magic button. You took the frameworks, did the work, and used the tools to create real outcomes, first in your coaching business, and now in this new chapter as an owner of an engineering company. That’s exactly how we want people to use the programme.

Most people think in straight lines: “I’ll become a coach and stay a coach forever.” Your story shows a bigger truth, if you build the skills, they compound, even if the vehicle changes. That’s why we obsess over installing skills, decision-making, profit, and delivery frameworks you can take anywhere.

Disingenuous

Had a chirpy call from Sally. After a number of questions were evaded, she was trying to sell me a coaching course for 7.8k when I have coached for 30 plus years. I do hate my time being wasted and people putting the phone down when I ask for an escalation.

Thank you for sharing your perspective.

For transparency, the LinkedIn message you responded to clearly stated a few lines in (and in bold): “This is not a job offer and not a franchise. This is your own Profit Coach practice.” When you clicked through and completed the short form, it asked for permission to send you more information and follow up, which is why Sally called.

On the call, Sally outlined within a couple of minutes that this is a paid training and support programme for directors and senior leaders who want to build or grow their own coaching practice, and she shared the investment and what is included. When it became clear that this was not something you were interested in and the conversation became increasingly confrontational and personal, she chose to end the call. We support her decision to do that.

We fully accept that our programme and our outreach are not for everyone. We also have a duty of care to our team and other prospective clients: our expectation is that all conversations remain respectful on both sides. Where that isn’t the case, we will end the interaction rather than escalate.

We are continually reviewing our messaging to ensure it cannot be interpreted as an employment offer, and your feedback will be included in that review.

Totally was missold this service

Totally was missold this service - the free coaching with a mentor is limited, and if you are not at your level until this point u have to pay a monthly fee, on top of the £7k + you have already invested, when you talk about getting a refund they twist the story to make it sound like you did not give it your all - 100% scam!

The initial call when they try to get you on, none of the timelines are mentioned, and i repeatedly said is this something i can do if i work Full time, they said yes, but it is not possible, the timeline u have the coach is nowhere near enough for you to learn "how to be a coach" and after that there is a monthly fee to get Mentor support. Refund policy is so vague, and i am sure alot of people have got trapped in this.

I’m genuinely sorry to read this and that you feel your experience with us fell short. That’s the opposite of what we want for any client.

For anyone reading, I’d like to clarify a couple of points about how our programme works:

- The initial investment includes the full certification, group coaching and mentoring for the agreed programme length. There is no requirement to pay an additional monthly fee to access coaching during that period. We added the certification at no extra charge during Maya's extra programme extension.

- In your case, we extended your programme access by an additional 6 months at no extra cost, and then offered a further 3 months of support again at no cost to you so you had more time to implement.

- When you raised the possibility of a refund, we reviewed your account and saw that a number of calls had been cancelled or missed and much of the material hadn’t been used and non of the criteria in the member agreement that you signed was complete. We have to apply the same refund policy to everyone, so instead we offered extra time and support, which you were welcome to use.

Over time, we’ve evolved the way we deliver support based on what works best for busy directors. Today, most coaching happens through structured group calls, on-demand tools, and community support, which we’ve found leads to better implementation than relying solely on weekly 1‑1 calls.

Experience so far

I have been a member of the BCA for nearly 2 yrs. I have to say that without the support and the framework structure provided by the BCA, I would probably not have had the confidence to make the leap of faith to work for myself. It took at least 12 months for me to get my head around things and to get clarity on what I want to achieve. It has been a worrying but exciting journey to date . I look forward to the next 2 yrs. Huge thanks to the Business Coach Academy

I'll admit that when I first signed up with Business Coach Academy, I was apprehensive. It was a big step for me, moving from a corporate career into running my own business, and some of the success stories in the BCA marketing collateral verged on being too good to be true.
However, having now worked with Pam, Zander, the BCA coaches, and being part of the BCA network for over 6 months, I cannot stress enough how impressed I am with the level of professionalism, support, content and innovation, that is available within the Academy.
It's taken a little while to get my own business off the ground but I've had the most incredible support to help me get there. At no point have I ever felt I was on my own. There has been significant investment in new tools incorporating AI, that have been developed to address some of the challenges new coaches are faced with when setting up their businesses, as well as training them to a very high standard.
Pam, Zander and the highly experienced team are incredibly hands-on, from daily group calls, to making themselves available at any time to support or provide input, when needed. I'm hugely grateful to the Business Coach Academy for helping me achieve my ambition of running my own coaching business, and am excited about what the future holds as a member of the BCA network.

In fact I've stopped sharing some of our best case studies because of this!

Way better than anything I have seen before

I've been business coaching for over 11 years.
I have used other systems and been a member of other coaching organizations in the past and none of them are anywhere near as good as the BCA.
The system is brilliant, the training is excellent and the support is second to none.

Update of my experience with the BCA

I would like to update my previous review of the BCA. For the first few months I was totally immersed in learning and getting used to the systems that the BCA use and I did feel supported. I reached out to a wide selection of potential clients using their connector campaign software and according to the metrics I was getting a good response rate, unfortunately I did not convert any of these contacts into paying clients for coaching. I did get some consultancy clients which was my business prior to joining the BCA one of these I connected to using the BCA connector software. However the goal was to gain coaching clients not consultancy so I feel dissapointed that the BCA system did not work. I was promised that if I followed the system I would get an income of £10,000 per month within six months or my money back, I gave it longer than that without success. After a few months of reflection I wrote to the BCA and asked for a refund of my initial investment which was £4950 and my monthly fees of £495 for £3600, but they refused to reimburse me saying that I did secure clients using their software and I did get one Consultancy client who visited my Linkedin page and saw my experience within my Industry and were interested in chemistry knowledge.
So beware if you are are approched by the BCA as you will pay a lot of money to them and you may not get a return on that investment. I am not alone as other people who have joined the BCA have also experienced these issues and have subsequently left. Some of them have managed to get a refund but so far I have not.

For anyone reading, some context on how things worked in this case and how our previous guarantee was structured:

• When Eileen joined, we offered a conditional “£10,000 per month within six months or your money back” style guarantee. That guarantee was tied to completing specific actions and implementation steps inside the programme, because we know the behaviours that reliably lead to results.

• Over her first year in the programme, Eileen shared multiple wins in our internal channels, including securing new clients, a 12‑month engagement at €2,500 per month, and explicitly saying she was turning consulting clients into coaching clients using the BCA process. She also kindly referred other people to BCA during this time, which we took as a sign she was getting value.

• More than 14 months after enrolling, Eileen requested a full refund of her initial investment and all monthly fees. At that point the six‑month conditional guarantee period had long passed, and our team did not believe the specific guarantee conditions had been unmet, given the documented client wins and activity. For that reason we did not issue a refund.

We fully accept that Eileen’s personal goal was to build a purely coaching client base, and I understand why it is frustrating when the exact mix of coaching versus consulting is not what you hoped for. Our tools are designed to help experienced professionals win all forms of advisory clients both coaching and consulting work (and we recommended moving towards coaching), and many members use them for both. Eileen also posted wins about turning consulting clients into coaching clients

Coaching as a side hustle? Didn't work for me...

Response 26/12: Thank you reaching out Zander (owner Business Coach Academy). Whilst I disagree with a number of the points you have made, I appreciate your efforts to make changes to the Business Academy pitch. To join Business Coach Academy with no other job is an extremely tough gig but to join whilst in 'stealth mode' i.e. continuing with the day job makes matters worse. Hopefully this will prevent others making the mistake I did and being realistic with what's expected in outbound marketing (LinkedIn) and potential earnings is vital before people part with the cash to join your programme; LinkedIn is saturated with companies like BCA. In previous communications I have made my position clear, the contract should be rolled back i.e. I get a full refund but I’ll leave that with you.

Updated 16/06: Misrepresentation is the reason for my refund request. Claims of making £10,000 per month, with clients paying $2,000 to $5,000 per client are definitely not realistic. Business Coach Academy encouraged me on board saying this would work alongside my day job, this simply was not the case. I do not dispute that I participated wholeheartedly, as described in the response below, but could not make the changes to LinkedIn or deliver the content without arousing suspicion with my employer. Even the coaches who could follow the Business Coach Academy method to the letter struggle to gain anything like the number of clients claimed on the website. I did not appreciate the vast majority of the marketing outreach would be through LinkedIn and I felt very uncomfortable with the volume of outreach attempts required, to me it felt like 'nuisance' marketing; delivering 10,000 outreach attempts to possibly gain 1 client made me very uncomfortable. There is a big difference between a prospect accepting your connection request and a prospect being 'interested' as the response from BCA suggests.

BTW, BCA signed off their email saying he now 'considers the matter closed' so that is why I did not respond!

Updated 09/06: Business Coach Academy have declined my request for a refund, please take time to read the 'money back gaurantee' very carefully; the first time I saw the conditions of refund request form was when I asked for a refund! I will be pursuing my refund on the basis of misrepresentation.

My rating is purely based on people wanting to try coaching alongside their day job; this is referred to as 'stealth mode' within the Business Coach Academy. The difficulty arose for me because I was unable to dedicate my LinkedIn profile to the coaching business and lead generation is very much geared towards LinkedIn. My profile and content had to remain neutral or at least not alert my employers to the fact I was moonlighting at coaching! This makes the tasks of generating leads much harder, coupled with this I could not approach any of my existing contacts as these were all employer industry related and so out of bounds.

The course content is very comprehensive and they are great bunch of very positive, enthusiastic people to be around. I enjoyed the learning materials, enjoyed the support network and community but this only delayed the realization that working in 'stealth' was not an option. Unfortunately, I paid up my full joining fee and the first three months did not really clarify the lead generation aspect, if I'd known how the lead generation aspect worked I'd have known this wasn't going to work out - expensive learning experience!

If your LinkedIn profile is an integral part of your day job then this is going to be a tough journey for you! I couldn't afford to take the chance of getting caught out. There is a big emphasis on earning £10k per month and achieving the lifestyle you want through coaching but the journey is not be as easy as portrayed in Business Coaching Academy's sales blurb!

I cannot recommend Business Coach Academy if you are planning to do this alongside your day job. For those who are already coaches or can dedicate full-time to the Business Coach academy then maybe it is a different story.

For anyone reading, some context on how our programme, marketing claims and “stealth mode” positioning work:

• When Michael joined, our marketing referenced examples of coaches earning £10,000 per month with clients paying £2,000 to £5,000 each. Those are real outcomes from dedicated members, but they are not typical or guaranteed. They require consistent outreach, sales conversations and delivery.

• The programme is designed so it can be built alongside a day job, but it is not effortless. Even in “stealth mode” you must do regular outreach and follow the system. In Michael’s case, over roughly 10 months he sent 585 connection requests in total (under 2 per day) and very few follow ups (this is with our automation tool, not manually), which is significantly below what we train and support members to do to reach the income levels mentioned.

• During his time with us, Michael completed the LinkedIn optimisation training, chose LinkedIn as his primary channel when offered email alternatives, and shared positive feedback about the community, support and his early test results. Concerns about stealth mode and misrepresentation were raised much later in the journey, together with a refund request.

• Our previous guarantee was conditional and tied to completing specific implementation steps within a defined time window. It was not an open‑ended promise. After reviewing Michael’s activity against those conditions, and given the time elapsed, our team did not believe the guarantee criteria had been met and did not issue a refund.

A few other clarifications for transparency

1. "delivering 10,000 outreach attempts to possibly gain 1 client made me very uncomfortable." - This is not our recommend number at all. 2. "There is a big difference between a prospect accepting your connection request and a prospect being 'interested' as the response from BCA suggests." I have always emphasised this to our coaches over and over again and in my previous reply i was specifically referring to the people who had responded interested in your account that you had not followed up with.


3. "The first time I saw the conditions of refund request form was when I asked for a refund!" - It is all in the member agreement which you signed, not in small lettering but early on in the agreement with a large bold heading.

We fully accept that coaching is not the right path for everyone, especially if someone is uncomfortable with outbound outreach or unable to make any visible changes to their professional presence. Since Michael’s time with us, we have tightened our guarantees, clarified the effort required, and are more explicit about who is and is not a fit so we avoid this kind of mismatch in future.

I recommend BCA

BCA Conference in Nottingham

It great use of my time to attend this conference and also very enjoyable meeting the BCA community in person at last. High quality organization, for sure!!!

As a new (3 months) member of BCA, this has been a truly positive experience, that just keeps getting better. Material, mentoring, professional support, tech support and learning curriculum have been first class. Capped off this week with an awesome face to face conference with an awesome community of coaches. So glad I pushed the button on this new phase of my career.

I'm glad I came here and read these reviews, before even meeting with them. They sound another scam program I was approached by also in the UK---bark.com(you bought credits to use to bid on leads for clients--then if you weren't aware enough to turn off the automatic renewal, when your credits were low they would automatically charge your credit card to purchase more credits + no guarantee for getting clients or earning your money back.

I was approached by Pam on LinkedIn and sent a link to watch a video based on my profile, but if she'd looked closer at my profile she wouldn't have approached me or wasted my time. Nowhere in the video do they even mention the cost for the training, it only hypes how much income their clients have made. I'm 73, so why would I be interested in taking their program when I've been a career and life coach for 30+ years and have degrees and certifications---worked in the industry for 40+ years.

Not everyone on LinkedIn is your target market. I was certified by a licensed coaching organization as a coach 30 years ago, so why do I need more training. I've run a successful professional speaking and coaching business for 40+ years.

I get many offers from LinkedIn on services that I don't need like lead generation, when I've been in business for more than 40 years and built up a customer base to get referrals from past customers, so why would I pay someone for lead generation or even coaching certification in areas I was certified in years ago.

Too many people on LinkedIn befriend someone and then started trying to sell their services, before even finding out what their needs are or building a relationship with them first

I am writing this in response to your response. There are a few points which are completely incorrect and misleading for those reading them.

1) The coach I was given was only doing 1 monthly session with me - not 2. It lasted half an hour.
2) You say "Despite you not allowing us to launch your first campaign". I would have been quite happy for you to launch a campaign for me if I had felt that I had found the right niche I was comfortable with. I was struggling on this as I wasn't going to do recruitment when running a recruitment business.
3) You say you asked for my bank details multiple times. You did not. Pam has recently asked for them after I posted my review. I have not received any type of refund.
4) I was not "resistant" to your methods at all. I think if i was working full time to build the business up, I could see how they might have worked. However, they did not work for me as they required more time than I was able to give to be successful. I felt I was misled at the start as to how much time would be needed to be successful.
5) I explained via email my thoughts and did not feel a need for a call.

Be careful!

I spent a lot of time working my way through the numerous videos re the coaching training but this is not enough to become a coach. I think you need practice in how to implement these methods by one to one coaching. This does not seem to be available and I felt that this organisation was letting people loose on other people's businesses without the proper in depth experience I was expecting. I was also sold this package on the understanding on my side that I would be working with Pam. I was therefore somewhat surprised to say the least when I got a message from her telling me that "my coach" would be someone else, who I had not done any due diligence on or knew. When I did look into this person, I was very underwhelmed and did not want to work with them. I was also sold the package as something I could do part time in conjunction with my business. I honestly don't think you can. There are a huge number of videos to work through and then they expect you to attend three to 4 one hour training sessions a week. These are heavily sales - not coaching focussed. I went from being very enthusiastic about this to deeply depressed. They have not refunded my money despite them saying in an answer elsewhere on this review "So they literally cannot lose money if they follow the process. They either get their coaching income to £10K/mo or they get their money back + £1,000 (this is as of 2024, may be slightly different in the future)."
I was following the process studying their videos and attending as many of the one hour weekly sessions as I could. I have seen no money back from these people and came away feeling the coaching industry is a wild west that needs some regulation. Be very very careful about whether you pay them anything up front.

I am extremely disappointed to see this review as this is our first ever non 5 star review from a customer in the 180 coaches we have worked with over 5 years (the others were only prospects). I am sorry you had this experience and we will improve our systems further so no one else faces similar issues. There are a few things I'd like to add context to.

I am responding now after waiting for two weeks because Pam made multiple attempts to reach out to you immediately after we saw this review. She tried through various means such as email, phone calls, and voicemails, similar to what we did in June when you expressed an interest in working more closely with her. Unfortunately, just as you did not respond then, we have not received a response from you now.

For clarity for everyone - having made contact with you we have issued a refund.


1-1 COACH
We do provide 1-1 coaching to ALL of our members with coaches who have all been a business coach for more than 10 years. In fact our current main Coach has had individual clients longer than 10 years let alone been a coach that long. If you were ever unhappy with your individual coach we would also transfer you to someone else, though most of our members love their personal coach (usually 2 x 30min sessions / mo but more or less as needed)

HUGE NUMBER OF VIDEOS
The Academy has consistently been cut down as much as possible where we now do the work for coaches but there are some areas where this is needed for example sales objection handling or coaching session material. Finding the balance between too many videos, and enough material to ensure competency and confidence is what we are always striving for though we are always making improvements so this may shift.

WEEKLY SESSIONS
We do not expect you to attend 3-4 sessions per week, those support calls are there for those who need them hosted as follows:

(Monday) Marketing Mastery - led by Zander CEO Business Coach Academy and built 2 7 figure coaching businesses with outbound marketing.

(Tuesday) Coaching Excellence - led by either Pam Featherstone 7 figure Business Coach and former #1 earner in largest business coaching franchise or Mark James former Director of Operations of MindCoach and Business Coach for over 17 years.

(Wednesday) Tech Made Easy - Led by Zander or Ewan who is a certified google digital marketing specialist.

(Thursday) Sales Success - led By Jack Roberts who as head of sales took a coaching company from $40,000/mo to over $1M/mo and personally closed over $4 million of sales himself.

Non of these are compulsory but are there to help you with the specific skills you need to develop to grow a coaching business.

YOUR REFUND
Despite you not allowing us to launch your first campaign for you (our guarantee requires 9 as with conservative KPIs thats how we ensure 6 clients) following our system. Despite this we would have still processed the refund for you as it was clear you were not willing to follow our system and it would be better for us to focus on the people who want to follow the process.

We reached out multiple times asking for your bank details so we could return the transfer.

FOLLOWING THE PROCESS
This statement "I was following the process studying their videos and attending as many of the one hour weekly sessions as I could"...you may have studied them however you refused to put them into action.

You seemed very resistant to our methods despite it producing results that you can see in the wins channels for our members. In fact we have had 4 people in your specific industry join in the last 2 months and they have been above our KPIs by over 500% and signed clients ahead of the guarantee schedule.

If you still wish to receive your refund please do reply to Pam or the team and we will STILL To this day process it for you.
