Customer Service is a sham

Used this in Australia. I'm from Canada and it says on any document you can find that an additional card is free - you CANNOT get one - false advertising.
Customer Service is absolutely horrible - they took forever to get back to me and basically wanted 50 pieces of information to move forward - then closed my claim.
I went to Canada Post to transfer money onto the card - that was free but to a max of $1,000. Zenwallet is useless because if you want to etransfer, you just go to your bank account and send the money. I went on Zenwallet once to get the contact and password to send the e-transfer. They charge you $3 and you can only transfer a max of $500. The first time it took about a day for the funds to show up on cashpassport but after that it was almost instantly.
Had no issues in using the card everywhere and anywhere - grocery, shopping, gas. Cannot use for deposits of anykind. Did not use an ATM.
See how long it takes for me to deal with Customer Service to close this card. Would not recommend.

Hays cash passport. Dont bother. Given 1 star as I cant give 0. Had problems with it in Vietnam. Trying to sort it out now back in the UK. The website just keeps going around in circles to the start of the login process. tried changing password and same again. Tried phoning. goes through various recorded options then cuts me off. I have £1 & US$1 on it. I think i'll cut my losses and write off as a very bad idea. I'll now look at a Revolut card

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT. i was going to give the card 2 stars as its been not too bad for basics (I've since changed to Wise which I've found beats this hands down w features & really easy to use) but the process of trying to cancel this card has been terrible! Firstly I tried to cancel it online. It requires two separate steps; cashing it out first but the online feature wasnt working. I called up and the staff were ABSOLUTELY hopeless (overseas call ctr). They promised to call me back when it was sorted but they didnt. I tried again and same thing. I then waited 3 weeks and it workd via the app only. Then you are required to phone up their card services to cancel the account. She the told me they couldnt do it for another day or two till the transfer from my cash out was completed. I have to call again!!! This has taken over a month. NEVER AGAIN!!

Rubbish rates and rubbish app

I feel like an idiot, for believing the guy in Tesco selling me this card. Totally taken in by his lies. Told him I use Revolut and he told me that this card is superior, better rates than Revolut and better app. Went I got home and compared the rates Cashpassport rates are no where near as good as Revolut. Do they think people won't check? Thank goodness I only loaded £50. As soon as I've spent it, it's going in the bin where it belongs.

Saga continues…

“Please call us to rectify”. To spend an hour on the phone with no solution. No thanks.

Customer service - non-existent
Product - woefully inadequate at best, not fit for purpose at worst

These cash passports are rubbish

These cash passports are rubbish.

I took one to Australia. You can't reload them as your UK bank wants to contact you to certify the transaction. Uk phones don't work in Australia. A new Australian sim won't be recognised by your bank.

I tried scanning my bank card to top up,still doesn't work.

Total shambles.

Official complaint forwarded with a view to going to ombudsman.

Don't waste your time or money

Nothing but trouble

Nothing but trouble. Can't attempt to purchase new currency - continually get a "something went wrong try later" message. Cash passport says it's my bank. My bank is adamant its Cash Passport- and I believe my bank. Forget Cash Passport and just use your normal VISA while overseas.

If I could put zero stars I would. Please don’t bother with this service, it is a joke. We have just been to Canada on holiday, We had trouble with using the card the very first time we used it, We had 2 cards one for me, one for the wife. We where unable to tap the cards, to pay, so put the card in the machine, use the pin NO the amount of times it was declined was embarrassing, luckily we had cash, so would have to pay with that. Whilst away we ate out, we managed to pay with the card happy days. NO, on our return we noticed that we had been charged twice for the same meal, contacted cash pass port which is supposed to backed by Master Card ( not so sure about that ). Got pushed from one person to another, eventually, we got send a form, 4 pages to fill in want to know the ins and outs of everything, you then have to email it back to a different department. Two days after we received a email saying that we need to try and get the money back from the restaurant we ate at ourselves, and we have to prove to them with the declined receipts, or emails for them to take it further. They even sent us over our statement for the trip and highlighted the two transactions which are for the same place, the same price with a 1 minute difference between the two.
If I could get the money off the card and cancel the account I would.
This sounds like a great Idea, but please dont be fooled like we where.
Card's dont work.
Customers service is a joke
Take cash save the embarrassment.

Exceedingly bad service

Exceedingly bad service. My PIN variably “ declined “ , phone & emailed their help line many times to fix this with no result.
Fortunately “ tap” payment working but some transactions require a PIN!! . Also a ?fraudulent transaction so had to cancel the card, luckily cash-out was easy , but ordering a replacement was problematic , as no tracking number for delivery was supplied despite many requests so no way to determine delivery .
Not recommended

Go somewhere else

Was told a new card would be arriving as my old was expired but it never came then was charged inactivity fee which I think is unfair when they didn’t send the new issued card.

Difficult to Deal With

I’ve been periodically trying to sort out my dad’s estate. He has a couple of hundred pounds on his Cashpassport cards. It’s an absolute nightmare trying to address this with them. It’s hard enough dealing with grief let alone trying to address this. It’s like they are purposely trying to make this as difficult as possible.

In activity charges???
I thought I had enough euros banked on my Euro passport for at least a few coffees. I discovered when I checked my balance I had €1.38
They have been deducting £2 plus monthly "inactivity charge"
I am raging! I was not advised of this when I purchased the card. I called today spoke to someone I think possibly in the Philippines? She told me it was part of the deal??? A bank charging you for depositing money with them and having a credit balance?? I was asked if I wanted to donate the €1.38 to their charity? I felt I had to just to get rid of this card. I subsequently cancelled the card and in my opinion was robbed by this company. Don't consider this as a money option for abroad!

Very poor

Very poor. I’ve always exchanged cash when going overseas but this time I thought I’d try something different and go 50/50. The day I received my card and set up my account on the app it was great. Very quick and no dis but then the next day when I tried to log in it wouldn’t let me. After several attempts and an hour in the phone I still couldn’t access the app. So told them to stick it and I went back to Tesco and demanded cash

Worst card ever don't get

Worst card ever don't get. I put incidentals on this cash passport on April 3rd. To date, I have not had my funds of 250.00 returned and I am a senior. My hotel sent proof and still they have not returned my monies. It is April 22nd today. I called and she was useless. It's May 2nd and still my incidentals have not been returned. I sent proof also. They are awful 😖

Purchased card in Canada before leaving for Portugal

Purchased the card to use in Portugal on our 2 month stay there. Had issues trying to log into account to see balance. Had no phone access while there. Had sent numerous emails to company to get account access. On one reply was told "it was now unlocked". Why was it locked in the first place without advising me? Extremely frustrating to get answers from c/s. Then after returning to Canada, wanted to get my balance returned to my account. Took 4 phone calls to c/s to get money deposited in my bank account. Terrible c/s while away & back home. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ITEM. Will NEVER use it again when travelling.

Declined everywhere. Useless

I’ve had the Tesco and Sainsbury’s cash passport cards, and they are both completely useless. They both got declined in every shop I went in, abroad and in the UK. Contactless didn’t work anywhere. Even when entering the PIN number. Complete waste of time. They should be banned

DO NOT USE CASHPASSPORT CARDS ,this card service,we have been in the Uk for 2 months, tried to purchase flights to Rome, card rejected, tried my wife’s card, same result, we couldn’t purchase rail tickets to France, 70 % of the other rail tickets we tried to buy were also rejected, Half of the motels we tried to book & pay online were also rejected, absolute rubbish cards, use a different service or you risk being stranded in a foreign country with no access to your funds. These numpties Completely screwed up our holiday.
