The Coffeejack product does its job well, though you do have to learn how to use it, which is clearly where most reviewers are falling down. Watch the James Hoffman video if you're in doubt.

Received mine over a year ago, and I use it probably on average once a week, maybe a little more, when I want a treat. The coffee it makes is definitely better than other brewing methods I've tried, though I'm not an expert. I get some crema despite using standard pre-ground Lavazza decaff grounds.

The one criticism I'd have for the product is some of the plastic parts feel like they're made from a plastic which I associate with cheap stuff, and I believe these are the parts that others have experienced breakages with, so there you are. But mine is going strong still.

Obviously we're rating the company and not just the product here, but I don't think they deserve the rating they have from the very annoyed minority. Some criticism is deserved, some very much not. I'd probably buy from them again.

I was an initial backer and was lucky enough to get a finished product a few months ago. Long time? Yes. Good product? In the end, I love it! I have a Breville espresso maker at home, and miss good espresso when I travel. This little wonder allows me to take it with me. I purchased the maker and an extra pod, so when I do an overnite I have two pre-loaded shots to enjoy. Just add hot water, pump, and sip.

I bought this Coffeejack through a Kickstarter program, and received it and some accessories -though I am still waiting for the Coffeejack tamper to further improve my espresso delivery. That being said, after just a little practice this makes an excellent cup of espresso such that my Coffee Jack now travels with me so I can have espresso or cappuccinos where ever I go instead of hotel coffee. This is a great way of getting real flavorful espresso. I think anyone would love to have it. I can even imagine taking it camping…

The true meaning of Kickstarter

Coffeejack was an ambitious project created by founders who obviously had a real and exciting vision that meant a lot to them. The process has been almost comically long, but I believe it was because the founders were driven by their vision, and I believe that because they were transparent about setbacks and progress at every point.
I think this is the very point of Kickstarter - accepting some uncertainty in order to help bring something into being that couldn't exist otherwise. Some projects are just convenient pre-orders, but this one was different, and I love and admire it.
And, I think my Coffeejack and accessories are beautiful and noteworthy. I don't use them that much, because I have a full-size espresso machine at home (and I didn't buy the tamper, which is more of a problem that I expected), but I'm glad I have them.

Despite the fact that there were logistical nightmares to deal with I finally got the product. I have to say that without doubt it makes a better coffee than my reasonably up market coffee machine. I love the strength that I can make and the fact that the coffee is a perfect drinking temperature as soon as it’s made. I don’t use it every day but when I do I regret not using it more.

I am looking to be as fair and reasonable as I can. I am an original backer from 2019; since then I have moved 5 times (wow!) and between 2 countries - and still received my CoffeeJack!
Credit where credit is due; they managed to get the thing produced and out to backers; which I am glad to see - sucks that some still have not gotten it, but I hope they do.

Full disclosure, I have not used my coffeejack yet, hence the 4 stars: for effort, keeping their word, and delivering a product. The little machine looks excellent, well made, and I am waiting for the nice weather to give it a proper try, outdoors, as that was the whole reason why I backed it!

P.S: Anyone at Kickstarter should know that what you are paying for is not a 100% guaranteed to work perfectly or even be delivered so, lets give this and all entrepreneurs some support!

Folks are upset due to a long delivery time. It was frustrating for sure, but CoffeeJack kept bringing the updates and letting us know why things took so long. It wasn't their fault that the world turned upside down.

I finally received my package (we got all the works, except the tamper) years after the Kickstarter ended. In fact, we had changed countries by the time they were able to fulfill it.

Not long after it arrived I needed it. We had to travel last-minute, so I packed the pucks and tossed it all into the suitcase.

The espresso pressed from the CoffeeJack is very good. It's not what you'll get from your machine or a moka pot. But it comes out much better than you would expect, and saves a ton of space and work.

Backing a Kickstarter is risky. That's the nature of it. I appreciate the work that the founders put into both making sure this happened and communicating with their backers. It's been a super tough road for them.

Now I hope their business picks up. It's rewarding for backers to see successful businesses. That's ultimately what the project is for, not for us to get goodies. So I hope that CoffeeJack goes wild and creates a ton of wealth for the founders. They've created a fantastic product, stuck with it with integrity and deserve to be rewarded handsomely for their efforts.

Great little machine -I use at work and it’s partially replaced my big home Elektra in the mornings.

Like that it’s user-serviceable and pretty simple design. I’ve used most portable espresso machines through the years to find a good one and while I liked my Handpresso, this is easier, more portable and easier to maintain.

One must be extremely lucky to get anything from this bunch. Trust me - I'm one of the backers (on kickstarter) back in 2019. To cut long story short - it's 2024 and I still don't have all the items from my initial order and shattered espresso maker (it arrived like this in case you're wondering. I'm waiting for spare parts for 5 months already. Not to mention I had to pay for it additionally)

Absolutely a scam. Terrible customer service and the delivery of their product took 2.5 years. Never expected to recieve what I paid for and along the way they tried to blackmail everyone to pay extra money. Absolutely did not pay the extra money out of principle and I ended up recieving mine BEFORE people that had paid extra. Wild. Absolutely do not buy this product or any product from them. It sucks by the way lol

After waiting over 3, yes THREE years for this, and after the second use, it is a non functioning and non working product. I’ve tried seeking help via your Google form, but like I said, I’ve heard nothing. Therefore, trying to reach out via various social media platforms as I really don’t think it’s good enough.

The silver plate (above the coffee basket when attached), does not hold on to the bottom of the coffeejack machine (where the pressed hot water comes through and into the coffee basket).

I was looking to buy other accessories to compliment the main coffeejack machine, but without a working main body, there’s no point.

The customer service (if you can call it that) is non existent. They take your money and when you report a defect, you get radio silence. Since backing this project on Kickstarter over THREE years ago, and being patient, I’ve now received a defective coffee utensil which does nothing. Over £100 spent, I wonder how many others out there have been scammed.

I’ve never back another project because of you.

Paid £165 over 3 weeks ago, not a single response to any of my messages or e-mails to find out when my order will arrive! Want to ask for a refund since this was for a gift, but probably no point since they obviously don’t read any customer communications!

The bits I've received work well.

I paid extra for 3 baskets with Lids (so I could make more than 1 cup)

I'm still waiting for my missing Pods - the last I heard from Coffeejack was 9th Nov 2023 (with generic emails 16th & 17th Nov 2023 saying they're sorting through the missing orders and the missing baskets with lids were waiting to be shipped )

It took some time to get to me the machine is beautiful and works really well if you follow their instructions.
I think it’s a great product.

They did make a product and ship it, although years later several thousand people still haven’t received their orders, or their orders arrived literally shattered, or missing components.

I received my order, and it was pretty good. I liked that it was portable, had a sturdy stand, and a carrying case. I don’t like that cleaning it or using it as directed could result in breaking it.

There are obvious product design flaws, with many backers’ units failing catastrophically in the same spot, to the extent that should’ve been caught during the product testing phase they said they were investing more in. There are no replacement parts available despite the company saying purchases would be under warranty and replacement parts would be available for purchase. These guys will put their time and money into just about anything other than answering customer requests or sending customer orders or simply telling the truth.

Against the rules of their crowdfunding platforms, they used backer funds on fancy marketing materials and campaigns, and according to their financials officially filed in the UK, giving themselves personal loans of over £500,000 from the company’s (i.e. backer’s) funds. After all that, they claimed to be broke and unable to ship what backers had already paid for, unless backers paid even more money within a matter of hours. That’s a saga in and of itself, where people paid the additional amount multiple times (in some cases unintentionally) and still received nothing.

The team at CoffeeJack and HRIBARCAIN will blame almost anyone else in the universe for problems they caused themselves, or should’ve been aware of, or should’ve addressed in a timely way. They’re incompetent and dishonest, not least with their use of backer funds, and go out of their way to gaslight their backers.

This is the tip of the iceberg and you should go to IndieGoGo or Kickstarter to see the full story. Covid delays are not the reason for their catastrophic company management, misappropriation of backer funds, and treatment of their backers.

I wish I could recommend them, but they’re a disaster, and dishonest. People should steer well clear of CoffeeJack and HRIBARCAIN.

Many people have recommended other espresso tools, like Picopresso or Joepresso, and frankly, they are much better quality, much more affordable, and make better espresso.

After an unacceptably long wait to receive the CoffeeJack the bayonet broke within a couple of weeks. The fact that they have a page on their website explaining the very precise instructions to follow to not break the bayonet shows they know it is a weak point that has failed on many people. Very disappointing after 4+ years to deliver. Look elsewhere if you want a product that will last more than a few weeks!

I backed this Kickstarter project (backer 3,964) in 2019, and later paid further for extras as the COFFEEJACK Bundle (basket with lid, case, elevation stand). I get that the project had issues (manufacturing, COVID etc).
I was later asked to pay "Shipping" depite having paid shipping on original KS campaign, which I duly did. Since then, all I receive is updates via KS adving of how many units have been shipped and also advising those who have not received their order to complete shipping details, which I have done twice now. STILL NO COFFEEJACK

The company is run by scammers. They raised an incredible amount of money through a Kickstarter campaign. Afterwards, they kept putting off the supporters and apologizing that the product was not finished and could not be shipped. after 100+ apology messages and 4 years of waiting, they had the audacity to ask the backers to pay more money. Those who sent them more money still didn't get the product. The few people who have received a shipment report that the delivery was not complete or that the product broke after a short time.
