I went to Kaduwela branch to open a joint account with my brother in last week and we both had our NICs. But counter staff members informed that they can not recognize our relationship and need our original birth certificates. And week after later we visited the same branch and for the same purpose. But they did not ask any single word about the birth certificates. I don't know and can not understand what is the correct process of this bank and what I observe is required documents are depending on the mood of the aavailable customer service officer.Once I contact another branch they also informed they do not request BCs NICs are sufficient .☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️
Commercial Bank should just dissolve tbh
I’m a Sri Lankan in the USA pursuing higher education.
Every year I have to call up commercial bank and let them know I’m in the United States and pursuing higher education, otherwise they’ll just deactivate my card.
They don’t have the services or the capability to understand that my card is being used in the USA so I should be residing in the USA apparently.
Now with the crisis in Sri Lanka, I’ve only been able to withdraw 100$ a week. With my bills accumulating each month, I won’t be able to make ends meet. I’ve had to resort to my friends and their families paying my rent and bills for me, which is starting to accumulate.
With commercial bank deactivating my card without informing me, I now have to either call them or email them to fix this.
Mind you, they don’t seem to have any form of contact other than direct international calls in my case, or emails.
The last time this happened, I had to spend 120$ on international calls to solve an issue with commercial bank.
I’ve been emailing them for about a week now asking them to deactivate my card, no reply for the last four or so days.
Thanks commercial bank for making my life so much more enjoyable.
