Brilliant service

We had a new window installed by Anglian. A few months later, we noticed that bricks above the window had started to slip downwards and that the internal masonry was also damaged. We informed Anglian, and after investigating, they said a lintel - which is a support beam - needed to be put in above the window. A month later, Anglian then phoned to say that what happened wasn't really their fault, because the house was defective in not having a lintel; they said we would have to pay £1,400 to have the lintel put in. They also said that they weren't really builders. We weren't sure what to do, so we contacted FENSA to ask their advice about what kind of tradesperson we required for the job. Someone called Taiwo contacted us to say that it was Anglian’s fault that they hadn't ensured there was adequate support prior to installing the window; and so, Anglian held full responsibility for carrying out the remedial work. Taiwo said we should inform Anglian that this was what FENSA had said. After telling Anglian this, they said that they would carry out the work for £550, in the interest of being reasonable. We told FENSA what Anglian had said, and Taiwo got back to us to reiterate that it was Anglian’s sole responsibility for rectifying the installation. On Taiwo's advice, we threatened to escalate the matter with FENSA if Anglian didn't take full responsibility. After this, they agreed to carry out the remedial work at their own expense. We can't thank Taiwo enough for all the help. This has saved us a lot of time, money and worry.

A FAKE body for quality of work

A FAKE body for quality of work

We had a major issue with a Fensa approved installer who's product was amateur to be polite. when visiting Fensa to make a complaint 1. the website pushes you to Trading Standards office (basically diverting responsibility), and then it is impossible to find an email to email our complaint to.

Basically Fensa is a membership club that promotes companies but takes NO responsibility when things go wrong, a racateering body!

Great advice

I spoke with Lewis regarding an ongoing issue with a top floor window. Whilst Lewis/FENSA could not help due to the property being a new build, he provided me with some guidance to get the matter resolved. Thanks Lewis 👍

We were contacted by Steven Gambrell a representative from Fensa regarding an issue with one of our customers who had new double glazing installed by my company.
I would like to take the time to thank him personally for the way he has handled the case and in resolving our customers issue and concerns. The help and advice from him we have had has been very professional, courteous and competent.
I can say its been a great pleasure to speak to a person who knows his job and can put a course of action in place to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. Best wishes from all of our members of staff

Expert Advice and Sound Support

Adrian, the technical supervisor, was incredibly helpful, letting me know what the law is regarding trickle vents, room ventilation and building regulations. He helped my determine what my rights are, in a situation that could become quite stressful. He definitely went above and beyond, and he really knows his stuff.

I honestly couldn't be more impressed…

I honestly couldn't be more impressed with the service I have received from Adrian Jones @FENSA. I had a slight dispute with one of their registered installers and was hugely impressed with the support Adrian gave me to resolve it. He's clearly vastly experienced and extremely technical. He spent time explaining things to me in great detail until I fully understood and could appreciate the situation more fully which, in the end, completely changed my perspective on things. In my opinion he went above and beyond in terms of providing, what has turned out to be, a very valuable service. I definitely would only ever use a FENSA approved installer for windows and doors going forward because of the safety net it provides. Thanks Adrian!

FRAUDULENT Company

I am fed up. It’s now been 3 months since I’ve beeen dealing with Fensa. I installed my windows and doors since June with a company called Right price doors and windows. Biggest mistake of my life. Since then, I have learn from other companies that the windows and doors needed Steel lentils. I spoke to the company immediately. Right price windows and doors disagree and insisted that the install was correctly fitted.

I contacted Fensa to intervene, they said I needed to pay a structural engineer to show proof of this. I have provided a paid structural engineer’s report since 1 month and still have not received a resolution. This company is fraud. They keep saying they are waiting for a technical manager to advise.

Rubbish, the windows and doors need to be FIX or a FULL refund provided. This company is supposed to protect the consumer instead they work with the Company that pays them which is Right price window.

I am dealing with Stephen Gambrell from Fensa and Brin Purwa from Right price windows and door company.
I gone through anxiety, deep depression and lost so much money as my project remain still. No resolution or response.

I am an Installer and have been…

I am an Installer and have been registered with Fensa for over 20 years and they never cease to amaze me as they just do not care about either their members of the consumer and just use us as a cash cow. I am only a small company and should have 2 inspections per year which chargeable at nearly £200 a pop.
This year so far Fensa have actually managed to do 5 Inspections on my company for no reason whatsoever at a cost of nearly a grand. I have spoken to lots of people at Fensa to try and get this sorted out but don’t seem to be taken seriously or there is always an excuse that the person dealing with it is on the sick. These people who run this organisation have not got a clue as they also failed 2 of my installations earlier on this year due to the inspector not giving a monkeys about how to clarify the thermal efficiency of the job done. It turned out Fensa have started moving the goal posts on how you need to clarify compliance on an installation.

More to the point I am still waiting to be reimbursed for the 3 inspections charged to my account. All I get is it’s getting sorted but unfortunately without any action.

Fensa should not be allowed to just do as they please and empty my bank account with Inspections that should not be happening because of their mistakes.

I am quickly beginning to loose my patience and respect for this organisation as they do not seem to care about consequences to members or the public.

Very very disappointed.

Hi Michael, many thanks for your updated review as detailed below. It is my understanding that you have a direct number for Adrian who is happy to provide any future support.

This is an update on my previous review regarding the handling of my complaint and the return of monies taken without good reason from my account.

I have had Adrian from Fensa technical dealing with this issue for the last couple of weeks and he has now after taking it on board resolved the issue to my satisfaction and also apologised for all of Fensa’s mishandling of this. He states that he will be using this as a learning curve so other members do not encounter the same problem.

I do thank Adrian for all his commitment in resolving this and hope to encounter better service and communication with Fensa in the future.

I wasn't holding too much hope but when I called I spoke to a very polite and knowledgeable man, I explained my concerns about my windows and he understood immediately and explained why I should not be concerned and told me what I need to do if I have any more questions. Very supportive thank you.

Only in existence to please their paymasters, they have absolutely no care for customers or that a company is not compliant with building regulations.
I have a FENSA useless certificate that allegedly covers me against failures to follow building regulations (this is a self certified inspection by the installer….that’s a laugh) so, even though I have an independent report from RISA that states the windows are not compliant with building regulations, FENSA refuses to follow this up with Anglian windows, their reasoning is: That I am not interested in allowing Anglian to return and make an even bigger mess of the install.
FENSA is a government backed CPS scheme and should be in existence to protect customers and to ensure the installation companies maintain FENSA’s high standards. This is only true if you allow the company to have an opportunity to make an even bigger mess than they’ve done already.
Compliance with building regulations is second fiddle to allowing cowboy companies to wreck your house even more than they’ve done so already.
FENSA will come up with any excuse possible so that they avoid having to contact their paymasters (members) - Customers are unimportant to them as we don’t pay their wages…..TOTAL WASTE OF TIME.
