Halfords Mobile Expert Avis 

I previously arranged a windscreen chip repair, turned up to the shop but couldn't be done as their equipment wasn't working. Fine, refunded and went somewhere else.
I should've learnt my lesson but no, I booked for mobile tyre fitting. I had a flat tyre, they all needed replacing anyway so paid £340+ for 4 tyres to be fitted on 18/06/26 between 08:00 - 20:00. Kept an eye on the tracking during the day, the fitter had us as job no 4, they were on job 3 by 11:00 so was hopeful they'd arrive in the afternoon. 17:00 came, still on job 3. 18:00, no change but thought they could still make it. 19:00, no change and getting slightly worried now as needed the car for work the next day. Contacted live chat, was told I have to call a number as live chat have no oversight of mobile fitting. Called 5 times, sat on hold for 10mins then cut off every time. Around 19:45 received an automated text message reminder for my fitting the next day. The chap turned up the next day and was very professional, but I should've been told they couldn't make it and they'd be there tomorrow.
If I wasn't available and they turned up I would've been charged £40, but they can just not turn up with no explanation when I've paid them. Awful service, will never use Halfords again for anything.

Took the money off a gift card and didn’t provide the tyre service due to a online glitch on their side, after 5 workings days (nearly a week) they still haven’t refunded the money, even after numerous calls and escalations to the customer service team who unfortunately don’t seem to have any influence over the refunds team who are clearly incapable of doing their job. Halfords are quick to take your money but not at giving it back! Will avoid using Halfords for anything now in the future.

Did it all on line Halfords made it very simple. Booking slots availability was great and the same price to fit at my home which is so convenient.
The technicians knowledge and professionalism was superb.

4 car tyres were changed by a mobile technician and then when I drove my car shortly afterwards, the brakes became spongy which resulted in having to have my car towed home as it was too dangerous to drive. My car was perfectly fine when I drove it earlier in the day. When logging the call the following morning, no sense of urgency or importance, was only told that someone from the main centre would contact me within 48hrs! I then spent the whole morning trying to get a garage to inspect it which surely is something that Halfords should be arranging? I am now waiting for another recovery vehicle to take the car to a garage, so I do not know the exact reason yet for the brake failure however I do not believe in coincidences!

I needed a replacement battery. Kenny attended my property this morning and sorted it. He was on time, polite, friendly and efficient. 5 stars, Thanks Kenny ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Four new tyres fitted using the mobile fitting service.

Before leaving, the fitter told me he had problems balancing the tyres as the balancer in his van he thought was defective.

Next day, drove the car and it was wobbling all over the place.

Another appointment is now arranged, inconvenience to myself.

I expected better from Halfords.

I’ve just had 2 tyres fitted by the mobile service which didn’t go so well. Tyres fitted in no time and then the fitter left…l got into the car 5 minutes later to park it and immediately had to call the fitter back.
My car is M135i with large M sport brake callipers and the fitter stuck the balancing weights in line with the the callipers where there’s about 2mm of clearance, damaging the callipers 🙇‍♂️ he also didn’t check the air pressure for the front tyres which was a full 1 bar below the minimum pressure 🙇‍♂️.
I will add that l’ve used this service before without issue.
I’ve had to order the paint calliper paint from BMW and I’m waiting to here back from Halfords in regards to this…
More care and attention required.

Update. Halfords did eventually get back to me and offered me £73!
Had to have the front wheels removed and the front calipers repainted.
The feedback from the tyre fitter was l had after market wheels on the car, l don’t and sent Halfords time stamped pictures of the car which is completely standard! I also said l was unhappy with the outcome and l haven’t had a response to my return email or except one…they won’t be touching any of the 4 cars in our family going forward.

Easy to book, on time, good install. Better than DIY.

Sadly, had a really poor experience with this retailer when I needed to replace the battery on my car. I used to mobile fitting service, paid extra for the confirmed time slot, and the guy didn't fit it properly. When I questioned the error message on the dash, he said I just needed to drive the car a bit. This was incorrect, he had fitted it completely wrong, and the guys in Halfords Bracknell had to fix this bodge job.
Further, when I called to complain and let them know this guy was doing a poor job, they took the details, said they'd follow up with an email, and I heard nothing. I actually just called again and spoke to someone pretty non chalant who offered me an £8 refund for the inconvenience and said 'anything else'?!

Won't be using them again, cannot be trusted

I recently booked Halfords Mobile Expert to replace my car battery and I couldn’t be happier with the service. The technician was excellent — he even phoned beforehand to ask if it was okay to come four hours early, which I really appreciated.
He was friendly, professional, and got the new battery fitted quickly and cleanly. What really impressed me was the extra advice he gave. Because I only use my car every three months, he explained that running the engine for about five minutes once a week would help keep the battery healthy and extend its life. It’s the kind of practical tip you don’t always get, and it made me feel they genuinely cared about the job being done properly. Overall, the whole experience was smooth, convenient, and stress-free. It was easy to book, cost efficient and work was done in the timescale provided with great care.

The price was good and it was easy to book a slot, and get someone to come to us. My only complaint is that all common advice I've read is that for safety reasons when replacing a front tyre the new tyres should be fitted to the rear axle, and worn tyres moved to the front. My understanding is that this is standard practice so was surprised when the mechanic said that wasn't the plan and didn't even seem to think it was an issue. When I asked if it could be done this way, he said that would be an extra charge but didn't know what that charge would be as I'd need to go through customer services and rebook. He was also unable to identify what had caused the puncture to the old tyre, which didn't fill me with confidence.

Friendly, professional service. Easy to book online and see when the work would take place. Mechanic knew what he was doing, managed to complete the work quickly and explained everything he'd done and left everything really tidy. Thank you!

Everyone needs to be aware Halfords will not accept liability for something that they did wrong. Our whole family was put at risk on the motorway due to a defective tyre. We have proof but as yet no resolution has been met. Until they put this right, I will warn everyone I can about this company.
