I worked there when Iris Business Software bought Kashflow and it had the potential to compete with Quickbooks but they sacked all the good staff off to save their themselves then realised they'd messed up

I am grieving the loss of two in-laws attending funeral after funeral, and don’t have time to deal with this.
You can see from the account I called in June 2022 and told a representative that I know longer employed anyone, I would not be needing your service anymore, and, as such, wanted it cancelled.
I thought this was dealt with, but it has continued to be charged again and again.
When I emailed showing concern and wanting this rectified, IU was sent to three different email addresses. Eventually, you said ‘as a gesture of goodwill’ you would wave the 90 days notice and cancel.
It isn’t a gesture of goodwill when you present the fee to my bank again without consent and with a paper trail showing I cancelled this over a year ago.
Avoid as they don't let you cancel.
Always liked Iris products
Always liked Iris products, but this must be their embarrassing, useless spin-off.
Bought a licence after (many) sales calls following our initial enquiry. After nearly two weeks, the software is still not up and running. Made numerous calls and e-mails, but just get the run-around. As we are within 14 days of signing, I have cancelled the contract and await a refund. There are lots of similar products out there; this is one to definitely avoid!

Impossible to Contact, Impossible to Cancel
My Payroll only account cannot be cancelled online, after an hour of trying to contact someone, I was finally able to find the right department to tell me an email address that I could use to cancel, only to be told that I had to give 90 days notice.
All well and good, but when the Email Support points me at a feature that doesn't exist, two telephone numbers inside the account are out of service, and then two different support Operators cant' find my account and tell me I have to email a specific email it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
Kashflow/ PayPal integration
I have been with Kashflow since I started my business in 2011 and in the main part, it has worked well for me.
Sadly, I think I may have to find an alternative as I just can’t get any help from them with PayPal integration.
Sure, it can pull half of the info across but you ALWAYS have to manually populate the invoice with all the items thereafter.
All I ever get from customer service is ‘put a suggestion on the canvas page’.
It shouldn’t be a suggestion - it should integrate ALL the info across!

No customer service at all, do not reply to email contact number is dead, unable to log in using my e mail which worked from day one wont recognise it now, filled out a P. O in the software tried to save it, it threw me out unable to get back in. DO NOT USE...
Terrible poor non-existent support
Terrible poor non-existent support. My accountant put me onto this and raved about how wonderful it was for me it’s absolute rubbish . I don’t know who they employ on the support side but they’re just completely not able to help
Customer Refunds not appearing correctly on Vat Retn
I raised a query about customer refund credits that weren't appearing in the gross figures only the vat figures. If left as is I will get a query from HMRC as VAT on the the net purchases will be greater than it appears it should be.
I raised a query 3 weeks ago and the last email I received about it was 12 days ago. I rang last week and asked to speak to a manager and was told someone would phone me - no call as yet. I called again today and am supposed to be getting an update tomorrow - I wont hold my breath !!
I have to file the return in the next few days so this is really poor service
Used to be great, but is no longer reliable or anywhere near as capable as Xero
We've used Kashflow for years, but have just this week migrated to Xero on the advice of our accountants. Kashflow was great for a while when we joined in c. 2014, but recently it has become very unreliable. A spate of not being able to log in or access the site over multiple days, invoices not appearing for long periods of time, and limited reporting functionality, like not being able to run a report of repeating invoices seems crazy in 2022. It was painful to migrate as we had to pay a third party to bring in repeat invoice data (the free migration that Xero offer all new client weirdly doesn't include repeat invoice data). It will take us a while to settle in to Xero but I'm already finding it more user intuitive than Kashflow. I feel for Kashflow as Xero seems to be monopolising the SME cloud based accountancy software now, but, Xero really does appear to be streets ahead and Kashflow feels like it's fallen behind and made zero development in it's offerings since we joined. Literally, none. I know many business owners who rave about Xero and our accountants pretty much insisted we use it as as it gives them so much better access to our accounts for reporting purposes. Sorry Kashflow!
Poor level of service
The service provided by KashFlow has deteriorated to such a degree in recent months. Trying to obtain a credit for another client for whom we act has been painstaking. Recent problems with Bank Feeds has resulted in many complaints from clients. The only response we have got is 'Unsubscribe to bank feed and then re-subscribe' This hasn't worked.
We hope that they will get things sorted very soon.
Gone down hill!
I've been using Kashflow since 2015. I found them excellent. Then last year they sold out and become IRIS Kashflow. Now the product is broken and customer supports a joke. I'd give then a wide berth if I was you.

Been 12 hours since I lost access to the full operation of the software.
Lost all of my BANK ACCOUNT transactions.
No transactions are being listed/shown.
All my transactions are manually entered so no links to actual bank accounts....... so what gives.
Reported this 12 hours ago.
Raised a support ticket 12 hours ago.
VAT RETURN due tomorrow and have fallen behind in getting transactions recorded in Kashflow.
Going to be late.
Going to be fined.
Going to madder than I am right now.
12 Hours to sort this out.
Online help says they are working on it.
Big glitch if it takes more than 12 hours to sort.
Kashflow must know it is a UK VAT RETURN deadline tomorrow.

Gone downhill over the past 12 months
We are a firm of accountants and encouraged many clients to use Kashflow however over the past 12 months the software and the level of support has been shockingly bad. Lots of faults and errors on the software, so slow it is unusable at times and customer service almost non-existent.
Looks like they have just stopped investing in the software and scaled down any customer relations / support.
We no longer recommend Kashflow and advise clients to consider alternative software upon renewal.
Offer 4 months free when you sign up…
Offers 4 months free when you sign up and also a 14 days trial. Took them up on their trial offer, because who in their right mind would pay over a year subscription up front without first checking out the software? After 11 days on the trial, I decided to sign up but..... 4 free months offer still available on their home page but not available when I tried to upgrade the trial account to a paid version.
Contacted Kashflow and was told "The price shown on the website is for the buying it now. If you try the software for free on a 14 day trial this price no longer applies."
Reported to Advertising Standards Authority and will take my business to somebody who wants to take my money.

Just not that good
Used to use them our accounts, too many problems. They became pert of the problem rather than part of the solution. They haven't invested to keep up. And impossible to get money out of once you cancel.

In my recent experience I have not been paid for my referrals, despite being told the payment was being sorted.
I was due to be paid at the end of October 2021. It is now nearly March 2022 and I have still not received the money that was due to me.
Despite contacting their support team several times since October, and being promised that the problem was being looked into (even "escalated internally", so I was told) they still have not paid out what is due.
It is a poor service and quite frankly worrying that such a support team is in place for something important like accounting software.
They are very good at collecting their own fees every month on time but when it's time to pay out referrals to customers they seemingly don't care.

Poorly designed
One of the most poorly designed accounting platforms I have worked with. Simple functionalities are made difficult. Basic functionalities are non-existent. Would genuinely avoid at all costs.
Look elsewhere
The main issue I have is with the mobile app, especially the expenses part. It freezes on most transactions and I have to reload the app. The desktop version is ok.
