Kashflow has made things so much easier for my business for the past 14 years. I couldn't recommend it enough. Easy to use control panel and easy to make Your own custom invoices.

Freezes all the time.
Poor customer service and service constantly hangs whilst we are trying to invoice or quote customers, not the type of service you want when in the sales business. Needs to be worked on instead of constantly raising their prices every 6 months!!
It is a source of daily pain and frustration
I have been using Kashflow for a number of years on the advice of my accountant.
It can do many things, however the user experience is terrible. It does horrible things like change numbers when importing from receiptbank/dext if they are in a foreign currency.
The listing/searching of invoices is terrible.
It looks and feels like a high school project that has grown.
There are some aspects of it that work, but overall it is painful to use. We will be moving at the end of the financial year - however it is *REALLY* hard to export the granular level of data that you need to migrate off the product.

I recently thought I had an issue with Kashflow, but on contacting support, who I thought was struggling to help, I was horrified to realise it was actually my fault not the software. Like too many people I wrongly jumped to the conclusion that the problem was the softsware, whereas it was "user error" .......... I have been using Kashflow now for more than 8 years, and seen so many improvements that I have no issues in recommending it to everyone to use.

I set up my accounts on Kashflow a few months ago, and have not had any issues and find it quick and easy to use. I like that I can access it from anywhere. It works well on my Iphone in a browser so there is no need for a app, which I think is why they have not bothered to update it.
No response
I raised a query regarding commission a year ago and am yet to receive same, despite being told on numerous occasions we would.
Their accounts department do not respond. I fail to believe they have been too busy to not respond in a year!
Don't use it!
Kashflow seems great for simple transactions but TERRIBLE for VAT. Reverse charge (for purchase of overseas services) should go in box 1, 4, 6 and 7. Kashflow misses box 6. I alerted Kashflow who told me I (and HMRC) was wrong. Then when I pursued it they admitted fault and said they would fix it. 3 months later it is NOT fixed. They keep saying it will be done and sadly I don't believe them any more. A few years ago a credit note would similarly not go in the right VAT box - again they didn't seem to care. Frustrating! I spend my time writing to HMRC alerting them of errors - and they are also useless at getting back to us! incidentally we alerted the issue to an accountancy firm who used to highly recommend Kashflow. They replied "Thanks for letting me know. We do not use Kashflow much anymore as it does seem to have a few issues sadly". Rats leaving a sinking ship!
Simply not fit for purpose.
The Kashflow payroll package is not fit for purpose. It falls down when trying to calculate maternity pay, sick pay and GP pensions. It is not able to produce the require reports for the accountant at the end of the year. I moved from Iris to Kashflow and all my Iris data was supposed to import but it didn't and support offered no help at all. It was sold to me as a package designed to be used in a GP surgery however it doesn't cope with the GP pension scheme and support had no idea about the GP pension scheme. When you do get hold of support and they offer you a solution it is usually just a fudge rather than a solution and you then have to spend ages rectifying the issue with no help from Support who admit that they gave you the wrong information. Truly the worst piece of software I have used. Do not waste your money.

I agree with everyone else on this page- I have been with Kashflow for 4 years now and the customer service is now at its lowest ebb. I cannot describe how appalling it is. Stay well clear of this company. I have 5 separate accounts with them and will be moving all of them. They could not care less about the customer.
Happy enough
I don't understand why the bad reviews, as I have been using Kasflow (and payroll) since 2018 and am happy enough for what I need to use it for.
Pros:
easy to use & clear layout (bookkeeping only, see cons), queries are dealt with within a reasonable time
Cons: there was one cock-up with PAYE not being reported to HMRC, which HMRC fined me for (although this got waived when I explained I couldn't have known).
The other con is again Payroll, I couldn't enter SSP, although my accountant could, so maybe I just were being dumb.
Kashflow Payroll is not very user friendly, but the bookkeeping side is and that's why the 3 stars. Bookkeeping would have gotten 4 stars, but Payroll only 2.
I agree that you can't phone them, but which other businesses can you phone these days?
By all means, do not use Kashflow, Iris Software or any of it's subsidiaries

The following review is provided after deciding to stick with Kashflow until the end of the tax year. Unfourtunately we will have to stop using Kashflow and redo all of our years work in Quickbooks.

Their Customer Support is abhorrent. You cannot speak over the phone unless you request a callback from support (Up to 48 hours), however they will try to solve your problem in chat but this is impossible as they have no training, experience or enthusiasm for the system.
As cited by other reviews for Kashflow and Iris Software, they have no regard for you as a customer other than your money coming in every month, year etc.
The actual system itself is dated and in dire need of many small errors, the sum of which makes the system unusable.
It is apparent that they have no concern for customer journey, repeat business or many of the standard practices that make a company a pleasure to work with.
I have started using another alternative payroll system and have found their customer service to be friendly approachable and consistent which confirms that it's not a payroll software company issue but simply a Kashflow issue.
Plus my accountant gets the new software at a cheaper price than Kashflow, further subtracting value from the company.
If your accountant recommends Kashflow, I strongly advise you ask them for alternative options and they should recommend the software I'm referring to.
Accountants often reccomend Kashflow based on where it was 5 years ago/when it was winning awards.
In summary, Kashflow served us well with minor frustrations for 5 years but this past year has been a major embarrassment for the company and I would feel ashamed of myself if I was in a management position in that firm.

I first started using them in 2008 (when I set up my company) and they were really good. Unfortunately, over the years the quality of their product has gradually gone down and not up, as you'd expect. And the latest version is absolutely disgraceful! It's a shabby, clunky and I will be moving to a better option. Furthermore, they've been overcharging me for years with no response yet as to why!! 😡🤬 There are much better alternatives available out there.

All the signs point to a system that is going downhill. More supporting apps and software integrators are moving away from Kashflow.
KashFlow Go out of touch
Clunky, poor app, stuck in portrait mode on an iPad and useless with the keypad. We have put up with its idiosyncrasies for a few years and are now considering the excellent alternatives on the market. Outdated and not worth the install.

I’ve used Kashflow since 2013 Originally privately owned then sold to IRIS . Customer service was quite good originally . Now they have The most unhelpful customer service agents . You can’t speak to a human only over email or live chat. On top of the poor help and customer service. They Randomly cancelled my subscription to both the payroll and the accounts package early 2020. Took 48 hours to get access again. The accounts package works well on desk top but does not work on an iPad at all well . The invoicing app for iPad is laughable . Im a mobile tradesman mobile access is really what I need it for . When it works it’s very good on the desktop but functionality is so bad on a mobile device I’ve decided to stop spending money with them and I will change providers at my year end this year .

Worst customer service I’ve experienced, no care for customer, all employees constantly talk over you. It’s a great feeling know you can’t get into your accounts, I’ve been locked out 4 times this year with no real reason. they have recently changed so you can speak to anyone about your accounts over the phone.
I’m a builder and don’t carry a laptop on me and don’t have a wifi box stuck to me. After 4 years I will be departing this circus company.
Had enough of terrible service now.
I have been using KashFlow for nearly 9 years, its clunky, cumbersome and utterly unimpressive. But it kind of worked on the whole. It was not working for something we were trying to do and then the help files were not matching the screens I had. Turns out I was paying more to be on an old rubbish version of the software. Support, Paul specifically, did not seem to care anything about customer loyalty, so we are off to use a different provider now.
I won't be missing KashFlow one bit.
