Home loan and life/income insurance
I dealt with Life direct for both my home loan and life/income insurance over the last month and received exceptional service for both products.
I dealt with Clinton Lawson and Meg Scotson for our home loan and both were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to ensure we were able to meet our deadlines and got a great rate. I would 100% recommend Life Direct to anyone looking for a home loan. We never felt out of the loop at any point and received exceptional support.
I also took out life/income insurance with Life Direct and again could not fault the experience. It was profession, well explained and gave me an number of options I could choose from. I dealt with Steven Hillary and was very happy with the outcome.
Misleading Info to make you sign up for an insurance
I was looking for health insurance cover (and nearly found one with NIB) when LifeDirect contacted me. They drew me away from NIB saying their plans are expensive, less beneficial for my needs etc. Then they suggested a Southern Cross plan and told me it would be cheaper. We had many calls, I asked all the important questions and thought I was in good hands. I signed up for a plan that I was told would cost $190 per month. Now the Insurance told me that it’ll be way more than that and that LifeDirect has giving me false information. However, LifeDirect won‘t help me to get the plan that I signed up for, stating they did not know about the price increase. Massive disappointment.

Communication
Overall the experience was ok. The broker was personable and professional.
The broker kept me well informed and was very clear about the steps I needed to take to get the policy approved. I wouldn't hesitate to work with the broker again.
An area to improve: In taking the steps above I found it difficult getting some specific information about the policy. The communication channel went silent. In the end i took a leap of faith on that specific matter of cover [cancer medication schedule].

It was a painfully slow process with…
It was a painfully slow process with frustratingly little information in communications. I initially got in touch months ago listing that I wanted to get income protection (including redundancy cover) and mortgage protection. It took weeks to get the first responses and suggestions from the advisor, i agreed as a assumed that it would cover everything I asked for (I never received a clear breakdown of what would be covered after asking) and when I got the confirmation documents it turned out that it did not include redundancy cover... so I had to go through the process again. it took about 5 months for me to eventually get everything in place which is insanely slow. Makes me worry if I ever have to claim?

And finally settling into another much more cost effective Insurance plan to meet our up to date needs.
The team were great communicators and were able to kindly walk us through the journey of our choice with friendly reminder emails was great!
I have already had other staff we work with have used L/Direct to make positive choices and change.

To be honest, the process was quite efficient and reliable. Previously, I had submitted three quotes to the AIA this year, but I had not received any responses; I decided to proceed with LifeDirect. The following day, Liam initiated the process and promptly kept me informed of all developments.
Life Direct cares about the numbers
Life Direct claims to give you a $1000 Cash Back. I thought the $1k would be nice to receive but didn’t get it. Firstly one has to wait 13 months not 12 months. Then you wait for your Cash Back as it is released in “ batches.”
Talk about feeling just like a number. Overall very disappointing customer service from Life Direct. People/Customers aren’t numbers!
