Good customer service, thanks for your help

I bought a lunar cosmos 524 from campbells caravans. In 2017, it is now 2024 and had no reason to complain the only thing was I reinforced inside the gas locker with wider alum angle , apart from that it has been and still is the best caravan we have had, and we have had plenty in 35 yrs including coachman (2 of) both spent more time in Glossop caravan with things falling off, bailey arisona (leaking roof) and earlier on swift and that had lots of problems, so I'll stick with my Lunar.

Have owned my lunar quasar for a year and cant fault it at all the build quality is excellent and would definetely buy another lunar caravan theres a few negative reviews about lunars but you get this with any make

My sister owned a 2004 Lunar Lexon, which was a lovely van - they bought it in 2019. Had no issues with it so we bought a 2012 460 Lunar Lexon in 2021. Hubby as a matter of course resealed it upon purchase as we do with any van we buy. We took it around South Island for five months in 2023 and it performed beautifully. Am currently looking to buy the later model 590 to go to full time on the road living. We know them, love them and of the four brands of UK vans we've had over the years, this one stands up best to the rigours weve asked which range from fishing spots to gold panning.

Have a 2013 Quasar 462 since 2021and no issues. I did read a lot of reviews before I purchased and as a novice I got completely lost as to what Brand to buy, only thing I knew was I needed a lightweight caravan to suit my car.
To date I have had no issues. I am sure that not all Lunar owners have had a similar experience but I am a satisfied owner.

Average condition of gadgets. Perhaps good for the age of what I purchased.

Overall, not too bad

I bought a 1987 lunar delta the electrics where working perfectly when I bought it. That was Monday today I went out and there was no roof lights and the water pump has stopped working I have checked the fuses I didn't check the pump switch and the neon light wasn't coming on could it be the switch

Bought a lunar clubman SR from Grantham caravans brand new in 2017, it started going back for warranty repairs from the first week or so its had delamination, new bed legs new awning light and umpteen more repairs each year something new pops up, last year we had cracks appear costing around £1500 this year more cracks. Very disappointed. even the 10 year warranty isn't worth the paper its written on as Lunar have gone bust with workmanship like this is there any wonder.

Took my winter cover off two weeks ago and noticed my back panel was cracked locked where it was fractured and it’s where all the screws are cut it back from the repair is today got it home and noticed the front as four fractures in where all the screws are pissed off is not the word anybody any ideas how to claim this back of Luna

Over 2 years later and still waiting for spares ordered and paid for.
Crap service

Lunar I always thought were good, big mistake!, just uncovered ours 2016 model after lockdown, Yup roof split rear panel in 2 places, fortunately cover kept it dry over winter, phoned dealer purchased from, answer Lunar gone bust no parts, warrantee useless. So the fact all manufacturers use NCC to claim good manufacture is worthless, ex employees moaning that they didnt get paid! surely they deserved it, it was them that did the shoddy workmanship took short cuts did not fix properly, Managers that did poor designs and purchased poor materials, Had a Motorhome before this new from Marquess rear window was'nt even sealed in. shower tray not fitted properly, All caravan manufacturers seem to be the same, careless and sloppy

After months of trying to get faulty fitted shower base replaced due to stress cracks around waste I gave up and made some repairs myself. Now found water dripping in the front area of van due to large crack in bodywork above the front windows, this will need a new front panel to fix but I don't rate my chances of parts.
Don't go near Lunar Vans utter rubbish!!!

When we bought it needed work but had been sited since new and not been on road
We after some discussion decided because of space we decided to keep it & completely refurb the whole caravan
from toilet sink carpets cushions curtains in end we spent £2670 on repairs and around £3000 on refurb
Must say we love our lunar and wouldn't change her no leaks as everything was replaced all rails were taken off resealed and all rubbers in windows replaced
Think if you are going yo own a caravan look after her replace all seals and you won't have leaks or damp

We bought our Lunar Lexon 660 from catterick caravans and got this £25,000 for £18,000 with motor mover on it brand new but was demo at 2019 show's, Build quality is ok, but but i have viewed £35,000 Coachmans and swifts that had more wrong with them in the showroom, comes with all normal extras ie alko chassis/stabiliser & ATC, LED strip lighting all over in van and light weight van, been caravaning for over 30 years and best £18,000 i have spent, P.S Lunar are still in Business.

The curtains on our brand new van were all too small to meet in the middle. We were getting nowhere asking for replacement curtains, so offered to make and pay for new curtains ourselves, if Lunar could just tell us who supplied the poppers. They couldn’t even do that for us.

Recently purchased a 5 year old lunar clubman from grantham caravans, never again would I buy from these people or would I buy a lunar they leak and the workmanship is shoddy but that seems to be the norm from the caravan manufacturers these days , once they have your money they are not bothered they just make excuses .

Lunar delta RI - nice caravan overall, for the price the lack of self levelling and air con make it fall short of it’s competitors.

The worst part however is the doors below the sofas
Every time you move the caravan they need completely re-Hanging otherwise they don’t line up. And when they don’t line up the pop open at the speed of sound and sharp heavy metal handles cause some serious damage as they land on your feet - a serious health hazard and the cause of many injuries which take the overall experience from 9/10 to 1/10 - imagine going to a 5* hotel and leaving injured due to incredibly badly designed furniture - You would not return.

Gas locker lid hinges broke Easter 2019. Insurance agreed to pay for repair. Replacement ordered from Lunar Caravans and paid for. Customer service kept promising delivery "soon" then "next week". I offered to go to Preston to collect but was told no. Next day, administrators called in. Company bought out of administration by Lunar automotive which (not surprisingly) declined to accept responsibility for the earlier payment and non delivery. The part was re-ordered and paid for again. Customer service again said part due in soon. (March 2020). Next thing came the lockdown. Since it has started to be lifted, I have tried at least 3 times a week, sometimes 3 or more times per day. to phone the company only to get the message "Unable to connect your call. Please try later". I've spoken to Lunar agents who tell me that they are in exactly the same position, ie not getting through by phone and no response to emails.
This customer service has been indescribably poor. ON NO ACCOUNT, GO NEAR THIS COMPANY if you are looking for any help.

Taken over after going bust, but nothing has improved under new management. Quality of workmanship is very poor and after sales service is abysmal. I needed two parts replacing under guarantee, their dealer (Grantham Caravans) didn't want to know and Lunar Caravans direct said they would send the parts which they never did despite numerous requests. The parts only cost us £27 to buy ourselves which we had to in the end, so the cost to Lunar would have been even less. We want to change the caravan for a larger one but you can guess where we won't be buying it from!!!!

Have been waiting for parts for Lunar clubman se for 9 months, was ringing every week before lockdown, kept making promises they did not keep.We are in our 70s and the van is our only pleasure, paid seasonal site fees last February, but looks like we won’t be there anytime this year, Lunar not answering phone now.
