We have a Lunar ck2 bought new just…
We have a Lunar ck2 bought new just over a year ago. We have had nothing but trouble with it. I has been in 3 times for the heating, at least it works in the mine part of the van now but don't think you can dry towels or have a worm bathroom. It has been in for the cooker the fridge not keeping thing frozen, the trim around the mirror in bathroom the shower and the trim in shower. It has had new bench tops as what looked like glue had been spilt on them. We also noticed a dint in the roof just next to the joint at the back, but they said it was Ok . Because Tyneside Leisure World who we bought this heep of rubbish from are not very interested in customer service we went to an independent company to have its first service, they found cracks at the back where the back panel has been screwed to tight and the black plastic over the front was all blistered. We have been fighting them for months because they want to just repair it and we have been advised it will just crack again. I would advise be careful who you buy your van from and spare wide of Lunar. We have found out the hard way also we have heard it takes them up to six month to send out the parts even if you can get them to agree to do the warranty work.
Bought a brand new Lunar Delta and have…
Bought a brand new Lunar Delta and have had nothing but trouble. Has spent more time with the repairers than with us in the year we have had it. Now we have leaks through the side storage access panels requiring floors to be taken up and new doors and frames to be fitted. Great design, appalling workmanship - avoid Lunar if possible
I have just read all 8 reviews about…
I have just read all 8 reviews about Lunar Caravans. I have owned a 2013 Quasar 544 and really liked it and never had any problems with it.
My wife and I traded it in for a new Swift dealer special. At it's first annual service, there were a few issues to be dealt with, including 3 areas with damp in excess of 46%. I won't say anymore, however I have learnt a great deal through a bad experience of dealing with dealerships and manufacturers. Not found a dealership that gives a damn!!!! We have had your money, so tough. I have not heard of any UK caravan producer that has a good product. Another thing to consider, when buying a new caravan, NEVER pay cash. Have some finance on it. Even if you have say £1500 over 10 years, the caravan always belongs to the finance company until your last payment. Any problems with the caravan, tell the finance company and let them deal with it, as it belongs to them. I was advised this by someone who bought a top of the range Coachman. It was so bad, the finance company arranged to take it away and got him a new one, £600 compensation and an interest refund. Food for thought???
Never buy a Lunar
As with all the other comments , i have never ever had as much issue with a new product as i have had with my Cosmos 462 Feb 2017. Light falling out of the ceiling / off the wall , under cupboards , a 4 inch crack in the shower cubicle on collection,( which took over 4 weeks to resolve ,Campbell's the dealers not responding to emails etc ) oven door falling off , a major window leak , not connected heating pipe , shower rail falling off , marker lights falling off . The second marker light fell off back in September last year and also one of the downlights stopped working. I patched up all the faults rather than waiting months for a fix. However since September last year i have been trying to get Campbell's to send me a new marker light and downlight . As of today May 2nd , and having been completely fobbed off again , i feel it is now time to vent my anger. I have had 2 previous Lunars , a Meterorite s for 23 years and a Stellar for 5 years . This latest one is a complete letdown and customer care is nil. I will never buy or recommend a Lunar again

Bought a Lunar Eclipse at NEC Nov 2016
Bought a Lunar Eclipse at NEC Nov 2016, from Wandahome. Was ready for Collection the following March. The following August (last year), it developed a leak from the roof. 70% damp was recorded inside. It took 6 months of emails back and forth and both Wandahome and Lunar trying to blame one another and pass the buck to get it fixed. It was finally collected from my local dealer in Sussex as I refused to drive it back to Hull (just finished treatment for cancer). I was informed by email that it would take 6-8 weeks for the factory refit. Two days ago I contacted Lunar direct as I’d not heard anything about when my caravan would be ready (even though by now 9 weeks had passed by!! Eventually yesterday after several emails I was sent an abrupt email from Duncan in Lunar stating that my dealer should have told me about a further delay and that it wouldn’t be ready until May. So effectively double the timescale they had originally told me. This was due to “legacy” caravans being in the factory. How about if LUNAR got their act together and built caravans properly to begin with, then there would be no delays. The customer service with this company is dire. It’s non existent. I have several Festivals coming up from next weekend and will now be using a b n b. The bill will be coming your way Lunar. I will never buy a Lunar again. This (and seemingly a lot of other dissatisfied customers) will make it known across social media platforms as enough is enough. I don’t know of any other industry that takes people’s money and gets away with selling sub standard goods. I’m actually dreading getting it back based on other people’s experiences that I’ve learnt about!!
My Lexon 560 (2016) is the last Lunar I will ever buy!!
Having purchased a brand new 2016 Lunar Lexon 560, we have been beset with quality issues since.
On our first outing we found the battery connection loose (dangerous), and the TV & Satellite socket sockets wired in reverse (frustrating). Since then we have had to have the battery box resealed, as the van failed a damp test on its first service, this after the battery box lock fell apart and Lunar tried to tell us it wasn't covered under warranty because it wasn't part of the van!! We have had to have a fly screen replaced, a front window blind replaced and have to had remedial work done on a number of cupboard doors and wood panels that don't fit properly and have come away. The external satellite socket isn't connected to the satellite sockets in the van, and the splitter that they fit is not accessible without removing the battery box!!
The build quality of Lunar Caravans is awful and what makes that worse, is that Lunar seen incapable of addressing the issues head on, but instead they pass you on the retailer. You built the bloody van, not the retailer!!
We bought an Ultima 570 less than two…
We bought an Ultima 570 less than two years ago. It has had a multitude of faults, many were present at handover. It's now leaking which is appalling. I've been told that the wait for spares is around 8 weeks which, looking at other peoples experiences is probably very optimistic, it then need to go in to the dealers for 3 weeks to be mended. It does seem that they are prone to leaking but obviously this wasn't pointed out by the dealer at point of sale despite the dealer carrying several brands. I worked in retail for many years and learnt that if you sell shoddy products people don't return. Lunar need to learn this fact. I, for one, would NEVER touch another Lunar product, there's other options out there people.
Shocking, would NEVER BUY A LUNAR
Shocking, product lunar Venus 540/4 purchased new may 2017 lust of on going faults from day one, November 2017 caravan damp problems at front of van and back of van, want a refund or different van, was offered £200 compensation from the finance company, nothing from dealer or manufacturer except they will fix it!!! Not good enough, caravan engineer's report confirms it was damp at the point of sale, if I had known it was damp I would not have purchased it. I truly believe the dealers and manufacture are knowingly selling on this NEW vans fully aware of the problems customers are going to incure. We should be offered a refund or exchange for faulty goods that have been proved to be faulty at the point of sale!!
Very poor build quality serious water …
Very poor build quality serious water ingress within six months. Four months later no repair in sight. Nice to look at but don’t be fooled
