Malpassbutchery Avis 

Well, I’d like to review the meat that’s arrived , but can’t as yet. Despite an email allegedly being sent when your order is on the way - nothing received and not answered as to why I didn’t get one.
However customer services (apologies to Trading Standards on the term), advise it will be with you today. It won’t, as DPD confirm it was only picked up this morning. Nobody answers the phone and the mailbox is full (no doubt complaints), but they appear clueless.

Not hopeful on the quality of the meat.

Despite all this you get a scripted email from the owner saying how life is wonderful and what a great run family business, well look again James - it’s woeful.

Gave this company a chance as my first online meat order and congratulations, due to your lack of interest and false information, it’s also your last.

Delivery 3 weeks late. E-mails chasing delivery details ignored. Phone calls not answered. When arrived meat ok but would question butchery skills, ie some steaks nearly 2 inches thick.
Past experiences with Malpass very good, but since selling out am now reluctant to place any further orders.

It was a perfect present to a friend at Christmas.

Christmas case took a while to arrive, and difficult to chase up as customer services never picked up, but it did arrive and was excellent quality.

Ok. 1st order from Malpass was great - decent size chicken fillets, decent fillet steak and decent sirloin. 2nd order, sirloin steaks were fairly stringy and chicken fillets fairly small. 3rd order, both fillet and sirloin steaks fairly stringy and chicken fillets even smaller. My last order, didn’t receive a sirloin joint and took over a month to get a response and was quoted that due to covid with folk working from home, no one could respond to my emails.
Sorry but if folk are working from home how does that equate to internet stop working they and can’t answer an email?
And the 9 items for £65 has just jumped to £75 which represents a fairly substantial price increase without any explanation.
Sorry but think I’ve given you a fair crack and would have been happy to give you another go but the lack of any customer service tipped the balance and will be getting my meat supplied from elsewhere.

I discovered Malpass a year ago and have no plans to go anywhere else for my meat now. I am always satisfied with the quality of the meat, especially the chicken. Value for money is never in doubt and my last order arrived in just three days, which was amazing. Well done everyone.

I used to buy Malpass Cumberland sausages at their outlet in my local town and was very happy with the product. Then, about 3 years ago the outlet closed, so I had to order online and buy in bulk. So it would be about 6 months before we got through the supply before reordering. However, in with the last bulk order were some sausages that were full of gristle, which almost made me reach. You couldn't tell which were gristly and which were not and so it was pot luck as to what you got on your plate.
I complained to Malpass and was given a code for my next batch of sausages, not all, but however much one purchase was weight wise. We were starting to run out of sausages just before Christmas but the website was only offering Christmas parcels. I waited until after Christmas and they were closed. Eventually they were open but again, they only offer large meat packs, which I don't want. I contacted them to be told that they are under new ownership and my voucher is valueless.
Thanks, Malpass, you won't be hearing from me again.

Just bagged up my luxury Hamper and Wow the meat was all perfect. What a good buy.would definitely buy again

Awful service...meat barely average. Ordered Ribeye and was sent Sirloin. Asked for replacement and then ignored. Go to Meatsupermarket instead..great service and prices

Have used Malpass several times and been very pleased with the service however with the 'Christmas hamper' this was not the case.
Ordered and paid in early December. Monday order deliver by Thursday apparently.
Spent the next 3 weeks chasing and emailing with no response.
Eventual email back saying 'We're now closed for Xmas' Can only imagine how many families were left in the same position.
Appears to be an unfortunate case of greed and over subscribing.
Still no refund!

Malpass Newhaven is one of the best meat factories around always got great deals on. The staff are very welcoming very polite a small family run business 5 star always. If you wanna feel ya fridge with red meat or even chicken this the place

I've ordered from them many times before and was good. I paid over £100 for a meat box and have had to throw most of it away. The steaks were so fatty in the meat that you couldn't cut them even with a serated knife. The turkey crown had the biggest piece of fat/skin on top equaling approx 1/5th of the crown. The gammon joint has had to go in the bin as had more fat chunks running through it than meat. I'm cooking the tenderloin joint now for a family get together tomorrow but am also getting up early to get a stand by joint of meat from morrisons as don't have faith in it....slow cookers are great...let's hope so. I emailed malpass customer services regarding my disappointment in throwing most of the meat away and have had no response. Customer care is not great!

I purchased the Xmas hamper and would order again without hesitation. Best turkey and lamb we have ever had and great value

Having ordered through Malpass many times previously, i was expecting to receive the same excellent service i'd received before. Unfortunately this is not the case, 2 weeks after ordering we are still waiting for an order that should have taken 3-5 days to be delivered. Contact with "customer services" is practically non existent, you cant get through on the phone and emails are not answered for days and when they do respond the information provided is incorrect. Will not be ordering through them again.

I had a late delivery so I rang the D J Foods limited who own the Fat butchers and Malpassbucthery, I received my order next day.The same high quality we have come to expect Trevor Giles.
