I've ordered once with MOD - quite a while ago without issues so when I was looking to invest in a few bottles of a wine I can usually only find in a Gastro pub (which I can't get to because of covid) and MOD had it in stock I placed my order without concern. Only after ordering did I happen upon this trust pilot page and all the worrying reviews.

I admit I panicked and started to think I should cancel (paid via paypal) but after ordering very late on a Friday night I got a dispatch email the following Monday and 6 perfectly packed bottles arrived Tue. Just in time for Tuesday roast. I know. We are weird in this house.

I didn't need to contact them so I can't comment on verbal communication from the company but I'm very happy with the condition of the wine, the speed of delivery and that they stock a wine I can't find many places.

The comments about the company being closed down or something obviously aren't true and I have not been asked or paid to leave this review. Maybe Covid caused lots of issues at some point for them like all retailers?

Great price. They even gave me a vintage "upgrade", although I guess that could be something to watch out for if you were after something really specific. I was worried after reading all the 1 star reviews, but I got several updates and the order arrived 7 days after ordering. Very well packaged.
Only downside was the slow-ish delivery.

My wife and I are whisky collectors and we both ordered a bottle of Hibiki Harmony separately from this company. She has had hers delivered but when I chased up my order I got an email saying only 1 bottle per address. On their website it clearly states 1 bottle per customer not per address and they had already sent me an email confirming my order. I pointed this out to them and they have just ignored me and the product is now out of stock. Shame really as we have just spent £1500 on malt whisky but will not be buying from this company again.

Bought a bottle of whisky on here for the value of £600 Glenfarclas 1978. Had an issue with the website after with it been down so checked the site out reviews to find they are dormant company and hold your money and don’t send out ! Called them around 30 times in total and there other fake website and eventual got through to someone nearly a week later. He answered without saying name or company and seas extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked when I might get my order as I had no confirmation and he stayed “I DONT KNOW MATE IL LET YOU IN AROUND 24 HOURS then hung up !

I actually changed my card and details as I feel unsafe with my personal bank details in there hands !!!

Money took a while to be refunded. DONT WAIST YOUR TIME !!

The only good thing I can say about this company is that it delivered quickly. I added a gift card and gift wrapping at the princely extra amount of almost £10. The card was a Money Card with the words I asked for printed on a sticker and put inside. The " gift wrap" was the box it came in. When I emailed the Co to ask why it wasn't gift wrapped the reply came back " We don't advertise that it does not come in a box. That Is the gift wrapping". I will Never use this company again.

My security software (from AVG) refuses to allow me access to their website. A shame because my wife's iPad says they're the cheapest supplier of my favourite brandy, Torres 10, right now, listed at £15.91??
But since they wanted full credit card details before confirming the final price we didn't order via the iPad.
Are they genuine or not???

Having ordered then read the reviews I was a little concerned! However, my order was for 5 cases to be shipped to 4 different addresses so it would be easy to get things wrong.
All orders arrived in 48 hours correctly and the packaging was very secure. I'm not one to leave reviews however these guys seemed to have had a few tough ones so I felt compelled to leave a positive one. Excellent..

I ordered before seeing these reviews, and was somewhat worried. In fact, communication via email was excellent, and my order arrived within 48 hours.
Shall use them again.

Worst online wine seller I have ever bought from. I have bought this wine from the excellent Elicité and it is wonderful. Sadly once they had sold out, the only place I found to buy more was Ministry of Drinks, so I bought six more.. big mistake! Presumably they had bought up cheap spoiled stock. One of the six was corked and two had loose corks and the wine was cloudy and oxidised. I still have three left, which I will probably have to throw away.
Don’t buy from Ministry of Drinks.

Took them a month ( Xmas came and went ) for them to cancel my order due to lack of stock The words “p**s up “ and “ brewery “ spring to mind
Tossers - avoid

Do not use this company or it’s sister company simplywines. I don’t know if they are scammers, inefficient or have crap systems but I cancelled an order before they had it ready (according to website) tried ringing only answerphone so emailed, eventually got a one liner back saying “we will try”. Few days later received three notifications in 10 minutes (preparing, ready to dispatch, dispatched) and a delivery date from parcel-force! Managed to get hold of parcel-force and reject delivery.

It appears from Companies House that they are a dormant company. Do not touch them

They sent an inferior product. Only £1 per bottle difference on the cost, but I would expect to receive the product ordered. Should have read the reviews before sending the order. More fool me. No way to contact them either, so I'll have to hope the e-mail works......

This is the same very dodge company as simply wines also with equally terrible reviews. Most ppl never receiving an order therefore it strikes me as a fraudulent website. I luckily saw these reviews soon after making a purchase (the website does not look genuine! I was fooled when extremely tired to make the purchase!) and so I contacted the bank and said it was fraud - since transaction was still pending they reversed it due to likely fraud. Still stressful! I’ve reported their website also as it appeared one of the first in my google search so seems so easy to reel people in. Don’t be fooled!!!

Ordered a bottle of whisky for a present on 5th. No delivery no communication other than confirming my order. Tried to contact - you cant ring, customer service live chat does not get a reply and no reply for any email. Shocking service and would not recommend

Quick delivery, competitive prices

I ordered a case of Wolf Blass Yellow Label from here, they were delivered in good time and were very well packaged. Unfortunately I had some problems with the product. I messaged Ministry of Drinks and sent them images of the lot number and received an email to say I would receive a replacement case free of charge the next day. This was way more than I was expecting. The customer service was second to none and the product ordered is great. I would highly recommend these for your purchases.

Shame great selection of wines, no phone contact, chat is not live and keep getting stalling emails repeatedly asking me to reconfirm my order. To be fair I was asking for a case of 12 6x2 bottles which is not their standard as they want you to buy cases of 6. So I gave up and tried to order 2x 6 bottle cases with an 18% off offer which says you don't need a code. Unfortunately this didn't work and again tried to communicate this through the chat. Thanks for the other reviews, looks like even if I do manage to order can't rely on the delivery.

I've placed an order and didn't receive it in the expected delivery time, it just shows as "Processing"
I have tried to contact them using the built in chat facility, live chat is alway unavailable and even though I selected the option to be contacted after, I never was.
I have now given up and ordered from somewhere else.
The only positive aspect of this experience is that they didn't appear to have charged my Credit Card (at least not yet)!

I’ve placed my order on 5th May and received an email that my order is on hold. Two days later, my order was still on hold, so I’ve checked the company’s reviews to check whether or not this is normal. After reading the reviews, I must admit I was somewhat worried and thus, decided to contact them. I’ve received a very swift reply from Jason, who was very polite and confirmed that my order would be shipped in the coming days. I've received my order today and couldn't be happier. I've got a great deal. Will certainly be buying more in the future as they appear to have excellent prices (i.e. £30/£40 less per case of wine when compared to other 'retailers'). The delivery did take slightly longer than it would typically take, but given the current situation, seven/eight days it's not too long. They are a genuine company, and I would recommend buying from them if you're not in a rush to get your 'goods' and looking for a good deal on quality wine. I believe they are the same company as 'simplywinesdirect' as that was 'name' stated on the invoice.
