The app is dependent on how the surgery (thorndike medical centre) uses it. So works well for repeat prescriptions. Blood test results are ok but don’t give the acceptable parameter readings, so you n... Voir plus

So much bad about MyGP
So much bad about MyGP it’s shocking.
1. Loads of adverts for paid services/treatments SO WRONG when NHS patients use the site.
2. When ordering medication it sneakily directs you to having them delivered by post from an online pharmacy rather than a local pharmacy. My husband fell for this and waited almost a week for medication whereas I skipped the option and had mine delivered from usual pharmacy in 3 days.
3. Previous app listed medication with last ordered date and when it is next due but this has information and ordering in separate places which is inconvenient especially when ordering on behalf of a relative who cannot effectively tell me what they need so I have to check last ordered date, write it down then go to order page.
4. Far less information regarding test results in medical/GP records, in some cases only says the test done but no result. No information regarding normal range.
5. Messages stay in the inbox after being read and do not indicate they have been acknowledged and acted upon.
its actually a good idea....but...
its actually a good idea....
but the way they do it is lazy and badly done.
you turn off all requests when you have had enough and refuse to allow anyone to message? ... but you turn off all new requests at like 7am in the morning making it impossible for any normal person to ever actually request anything, making it totally useless.
the system is a good idea though, if you kept the message system open and allowed people to write any message or request even if you have had enough, that would fix your issues... you can pick your few you wanna deal with on that day and all the other requests and messages you can deal with another day or just let come in and deal with them on a patient by patient basis. rather than just turning off the ability to send messages and saying you have had enough for the day... it shouldnt be limited to what you wanna do for the day, it should be your portal of direct communication between you and your patient and you should allow the patient to add any message or request whenever and you just answer it whenever, just allow them to add any message in the meantime, pretty simple and faster to even go through most messages and reply to them all in the message system and not need to phone the patient up, i bet most you can deal with simply by a simple text reply, and a tiny bit of admin work or anything. only the few worst cases would require you to request them come in for check up or phone them up or give them a prescription... you can deal with alot more on this system but you dont do and instead you turn it off near enough right away and refuse to even allow patients to que up enquiries or add anything you might wanna hear about sometime, might not even be on the day, we can accept you wont see the request on the day, if we leave a message we expect you to deal with it whenever, so why use it as a day by day basis rather than a patient by patient basis and a expect to wait until they get to it? .... if i was having a emergency id expect day by day right off response in first day off emergency, you GPs are not emergency.... you are small things, we can accept you cant see to our message on that very first day, just allow us to send that message and then for it to be qued and waiting for days or weeks, we can accept that but you dont allow it and then we cant use your service because its closed by the time anyone wakes up...
Save us from "helpful" technology!!!
Ordering prescriptions which used to take 2 or 3 days the old fashioned paper way. No longer! You can wait 5 or 6 days using this app.
It shows you a nice big tick when you've requested your medication. From there it disappears into the ether with no way of tracking it.
The status changes from received to "unknown". It stays in this state until it is "approved"
This doesn't mean you can collect your medication from the pharmacy though. It could be another couple of days until it finally makes its way into the pharmacy in tray.
Trying to book an appointment is laughable. It tells you that nothing is available and to contact the surgery. This is supposed to do away with contacting the surgery but you end up doing it anyway.
The only advantage is you save a couple of minutes by ignoring the app and picking up the phone.
Where are my new messages ?
myGP regularly flags up new messages (2 today). When opening the app and going to look at these new messages I’m told I don’t have any new messages whereupon I close the app they’re still there on the app icon. At best annoying, at worst are important messages being “lost.
Deserves no stars does not work
Deserves no stars does not work, useless
Zero star
I found this too invasive of my privacy, from providing all my details of my passport, to scanning my face on line with my camera and marrying up with my passport photo. I did worry about how safe is my identity. It was epic to follow instructions, but felt l had to persevere because my GP text me to say Patient Access would not be accessible from October. Where l order my monthly prescription.
Having browsed the new app it is disappointing. I was hoping to book my appointments with a GP on line avoiding the officious receptionists, however this isn’t supported by my GP Surgery.
The app tries to encourage you to have your prescriptions delivered. I avoided this because l support my local small chemist, if we don’t use them eventually the independent high street chemist will disappear. Also if this is in connection with the NHS it appears more geared up for the private companies offering all blood tests and more at great costs.
I don’t like the changing ethos of our NHS into a tiered system.
My GP app appears to be totally…
My GP app appears to be totally irrelevant. My local surgery even says it is nothing to do with them. I can still get all services I need without it. The NHS app has everything needed including Covid vaccination details.
Cynically forces you to use postal delivery of your prescription
This app forces you to use the home-delivery prescription service. ie you cannot collect from your pharmacy. It purports to have no record of my standing pharmacy choice, and there is no way to reinstate it.
The app does appear to give you a choice to have home delivery or collect from pharmacy: but tick buttons are deliberately set up to make the latter choice impossible or very difficult. I certainly could not find a way, and I have probably tried harder than most.
Surely this is dishonest? Illegal even. This could result in many local pharmacies closing down, which may be contrary to the wishes of the user.
Mygp ruined my doctors surgery
It’s now impossible to contact my surgery since they started using Mygp. You can only request an appointment during office hrs (handy when you work in a field). When you get home Mygp is closed! And they are closed weekends. My surgery has directed staff away from the phones since using Mygp……
Here’s a clever idea.. why can’t you request an appointment at any time & Mygp just pick up the messages next working day? It’s not that hard.
If you’re using the internet you should never be closed.
I can email a business at anytime & they can respond next day. Not the case with Mygp. It simply closes! What a joke. Trustpilot should give 0 stars. Just remember, by default you HAVE to get one star…. So that’s half a star for this amazing business
Can someone tell me if there is a text…
Can someone tell me if there is a text scam doing the rounds asking for all sorts of details and photos to join the mygp site. I sent off photos etc plus all sorts of details only to be told the photos didn't match and I couldn't join. Am now really worried.
What a nonsense
What a nonsense, that children who turn 12, are removed from the app automatically, as a dependant. Waste of time and medical resources, to have an appointment with the GP to give their consent to be added back to the adult's account. After that, another form needs to be filled and a proof of ID shown at the practice. They cannot pick up their own medicine from the pharmacy till they are 16, but can be removed from a parent's account at the age of 12. Another nonsense - my daughter who is under the age of 12 was automatically removed from the app.
Utter useless
Utter useless! Downloaded it months ago and it still isn’t working properly. I’m just going to delete it and hope that I can still book appointments via the phone. I’m lucky enough to very rarely needing to see the doctor but I feel sorry for those who are less fortunate. I’m stressed with just trying to book a routine (3 yearly) smear test. Shame on those who signed this useless app off
It never seems to be working...
It never seems to be working.... Always unavailable whenever I try to go on there... Absolutely worthless and pointless. Sick of logging and never being able to even order my prescription.
Absolutely terrible idea!
Absolutely terrible idea!! This really does "robotize" your doctor and put a wall between you and them. Obviously the GPs are making money from this scam, what's happened to picking up a phone and talking to a human being?
What's the point?
This app adds nothing to my life I cannot get from Patient Access or the NHS website.
Notifications: Sometimes it sends annoying notifications, like: Your one stop shop for all healthcare...
Advertisement: There's a whole section on the home screen dedicated to advertising paid for healthcare services I could Google for myself.
Support: It feels like a catch 22 loop when I navigate their "support" section and always end up on a FAQs page pretending to answer all of my questions.
Booking appointments: That's impossible with my practice and most practices are the same. So, this so called feature should be removed from its feature list.
Again...what's the point of this app?
Terrible
Terrible. Ordered a prescription for delivery which was issued by my doctor 5 days ago. No update on delivery so I contacted the pharmacy who have not received any information regarding the prescription. I explained this to MyGP who just told me the difference between "issued" and "pending" (yes, I understand that, thank you) and that once the prescription is issued it will be sent to the pharmacy. Ok, well explain why you still haven't sent it to the pharmacy, FIVE DAYS LATER and I'm going to run out of medication tomorrow! I'm recovering from major cancer surgery and can't drive. Thought this would solve the issue of picking up prescriptions but it's just causing more issues I don't need!!
This is making people more sick
This is making people more sick, anxious and depressed and should be banned. Dangerous system with a lack of moral principle.
Poor service but no choice!
Firstly the positive...I didnt have a problem loading the software. Now the negative...it's next to useless as it's just like the old days of having to phone the reception at a certain time or not being able to get an appointment at all. It's supposed to be open at 8:00 only until 9:00 - how customer friendly is that??...On more than one occasion I've found that its offline at 8:00 on other occasions while I'm typing in it goes to offline status. I've actually given up a few times. Also I understand how performance can be measured in the old fashioned phone days - how long customers are waiting, how many calls are lost but is performance being measured with AskmyGP? Waste of time and money...my money!
Waste of time
Spent 15 mins loading up the app and reading through it with the hope that as advertised I would be able to book appointments on it, only to find that there are no appointments available. Poor show again.
Rubbish
The app is a great idea but frankly it works only part of the time. Most nights it fails to load and seems to work properly only in the daytime?! Frequently I take my tablets at night, realise I have to repeat order but then cannot because all my prescriptions are missing or sometimes the button to view prescriptions is even missing from the screen. If it worked it would be great, but it doesn’t.
