Hi Phil,
We are very sorry for the oversight on our part not to have contacted you to let you know that our operator Paul Looker was not on site today due to an acute health issue which resulted in him being admitted to hospital at late notice. Our operator did amend his diary to change our website which would advise anyone looking for a repair that he was not on site but, as you had booked an appointment in last week, you would not have automatically be made aware, only if you had checked our diary before leaving home would you have seen this change.
We completely accept that we have on this occasion fallen short of our usually excellent customer service by not ensuring you were contacted and made aware of this change, for this we can only apologise.
Please rest assured this matter will be addressed by us to avoid such sicarios from occurring in the future.

Contacted Joe in the week to chat about a repair was very knowledgeable and professional popped down to get the repair done today every thing was explained and repair carried out ,very happy with the repair and Joe was really good , will definitely use again if needed

I had a very tiny stone chip (around 1mm) that was stable and I had been monitoring for around 4 weeks, it had been checked by a local garage.
I found Optic Kleer by chance in Sainsburys car park. The man agreed it was a minor repair that could be undertaken quickly.
When I returned after 20 mins, I was told "when I went to your car the chip had spread into a crack. I didnt even touch it, must have been the heat"
Apparently it was coincidental timing that it had been stable for a month, and survived weeks of sunshine, only to turn into an 8 inch crack that needed a total windscreen repair when a worker glanced at it. It "had never happened to him before".
Luckily for me, he had referred me to their windscreen replacement service (same company), obviously at more cost to me, and considerable more profit to the company....
I decided to instead go to a reputable company for my replacement.
Avoid this company at all cost - total scammers.

We have spoken to our operator who you saw on Saturday morning, Matthew, he has explained the events that occurred upon your arrival; how he had been working on another vehicle when you approached him which he left to come over to your car and take a quick look at your screen advising the small chip you had appeared to be repairable. At this time Matthew went through with you our pre-repair declaration explaining the risks of repairing your screen, including the possibility of the glass cracking after which you signed the declaration accepting these terms and conditions before leaving your vehicle with him whist you went in to Sainsburys.
After Matthew completed his repair to the other person's vehicle he went over to your car to see that the chip had spread to a crack, Matthew had not touched the screen. Although we can understand why you would think he was to blame we can assure you that it was, as Matthew explained, very unfortunate timing and your screen had cracked on its own whilst you had left it with Matthew.
The glass on your windscreen was already weak due to the chip it had already sustained, the added extremely hot temperatures on Saturday had heated your screen to a very high temperature and sometimes small changes in air pressure or movement placed on the glass from simply opening and closing your door can cause chips to suddenly crack. We try to repair small cracks to prevent this from happening but there are occasions out of our control when this is just not possible.
Matthew explained what happened to your screen once you returned to your vehicle and offered to pass your details to our partner company, Auto Windscreens for them to assist you with a quote for replacement, our standard procedure in this scenario but not something we make any considerable profit from, especially compared to carrying out a repairs; repairing a chip is always our preference and we only advise a replacement is required if a customers chip is too large for repair or, as in your situation, a chip has cracked beyond a possible repair. We carry out hundreds of repairs every month and on average less than 5% result in a fail, we are sorry that this happened to you Louise and are glad you have now replaced your windscreen.

Faulty repair, now i need a new windscreen
I had a chip in my windscreen that wasn’t repaired correctly, after being told it would be able to handle any weather or temperature anomalies, there is now a 12 inch crack in my windscreen.

We are very sorry to hear that you have been dissatisfied with our service mainly due to the unfortunate occurrence of your failed repair resulting in you needing to replace your windscreen; the main objective of a windscreen repair is to restore the strength back to the screen in an attempt to stop any chips getting worse. There are sometimes occasions beyond our control which may cause a repair to fail, extreme temperature fluctuations may be one of those and for this reason our operator confirms he did not make any claim that the repair he would carry out on your windscreen would handle any weather or temperature anomalies.
Despite the best attempt by our operator to carry out a repair, you screen unfortunately failed and we have taken the appropriate action to ensure you are refunded the money you paid for your repair and cancel your insurance claim as well as advising you on the next step to take to get your windscreen replaced.

Superb customer service from Tim Wait
Superb customer service from Tim Wait. I saw him in Morrisons car park a month prior to my appointment. He gave me a card and I contacted him 3 weeks later to get booked in. He then text me to say he would be there earlier if I was interested and I asked him to just text me in the morning when he got there and true to his word he did. 30 minutes later it was all done and dusted. Very charming and totally professional. Good value for money too rather than a new windscreen. Thank you.

Thomas did a great job.
I came to Optic-Kleer through Windshield Hub. I booked with WSH and they contracted Optic-Kleer, which was good for me. Thomas did a great job answered my potentially annoying questions and was done in under an hour. He just finished. Everything at this point looks great, I'm happy to know of their existence and will recommend them and use them again if necessary, in the future.
