Petruth Paddocks Camping Avis 

We stayed on the converted American school bus which my son absolutely loved. Everything was provided (toilet rolls, towels, blankets etc). The owner was lovely, he actually come round the park asking guests how they were finding their stay, if they needed anything or if there was any problems. There was a barbecue provided which was a nice touch. On our first night staff come round asking if we wanted to hire a fire pit for our stay, this was reasonably priced and again was a nice touch. The toilet and shower cubicles we found to be well maintained and regularly cleaned. On arrival we were given bags for rubbish (general waste, food waste and recycling separate) which again was something that we liked. There was a small shop onsite, a place to buy pizzas from on a night and night time entertainment. The site itself was evidently very well looked after. This site was around a 15 minute walk into cheddar gorge which was the main reason for our stay, being such a short walk meant that we didn’t have to worry about trying to find parking to go into the gorge or worry about being back in time to collect our car before our parking time ran out. It is an excellent base for sight seers, we found it to be very clean and welcoming and absolutely loved those little touches. We would definitely return ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely love our yearly group camping trip at Petruth Paddocks.
There was a pizza truck onsite Friday, best to pre-book as these sell out fast. On Saturday there were burritos and nachos on sale, also cocktails/mocktails and a singer/guitarist.
The shop sell meats for bbq and s’mores kits for little and big kids. There is also a charging station for phones etc.
Owners and staff are friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers are cleaned regularly.
Lovely walk into Cheddar town.
Would highly recommend and we will be returning year after year.

One of the best campsites I’ve stayed in. Food trucks on site for breakfast and dinner, ample shop and great facilities.

First time visiting Petruth Paddocks with my boys ages 8 and 10.
Brilliant campsite for 5 nights, had everything we needed. Great facilities and play area.
We spent our days away from the site and returned early evening in enough time for the boys to safely play and explore with their new friends.

The boys want to return to Petruth again so that for me says everything about the place.

Spacious pitches with wonderful views, helpful and friendly staff, and excellent facilities. Recycling bins and rubbish bags are provided, plus plenty of space for the kids to play. A lovely breakfast van serving hot food, cereals, and more. Nothing was too much trouble for the team. Highly recommended, we will definitely be staying again!

What a beautiful family campsite.
The crew were all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful from the start. The site is well organised. The facilities are plentiful, clean and well sign posted.
The vibe on site is like a proper old school family camp site and the owner comes and gets involved and is part of the fun.
We loved it and will 100% return.

Went as a couple and was placed in a nice quiet field. Toilets and showers are excellent and being continually cleaned.
Metered electric is a great bonus as we didn’t use that much and what was on the meter at the end of our stay was refunded.
The fire pits made out of recycled washing machine drums with a log delivery service made each evening cozy and relaxing

We had another great stay at Petruth Paddocks. The staff are extremely helpful. The location of the site means you can walk into Cheddar which is lovely. During the week, it was very peaceful. At the weekend it was much more lively, but I still didn’t need to queue for toilets or showers which are great. We love the extras like being able to order pizza on a Friday and buy bacon rolls for breakfast. This time we splashed out and booked the wood burning hot tub which was delivered to our tent - very relaxing to see the sunset and then hundreds of stars. We’ll be back.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Definitely coming back to stay for longer as myself and my partner stayed one night to see the mini trains.

Superb couple of days. Facilities were great and regularly cleaned. Greeted by Bex, who was superb!

This was our 2nd time at Petruth Paddocks. We loved it so much last year that we decided to make a return trip. Again, everything was superb! 5 stars throughout.
A wide choice of pitches, clean hot showers, ice available from the well stocked shop at reception.
A super huge thank you to Bex - she was amazing and worked so hard, always with a smile! We’d run out of eggs and Bex very kindly gave us half a dozen from her own home.
One of the best things about this campsite is it’s location - an easy, flat 15 minute walk into Cheddar where there’s pubs, a bakers, a butchers (no, not a candlestick maker) and a Sainsbury’s then a few more minutes walk takes you up into Cheddar Gorge with its cafes and gift shops.
We will definitely return again and recommend 100%

Stayed again at petruth paddocks, this being my fourth time and again jules and the team kept everything clean and tidy against all the odds of being a massively busy time, and of course I’ll be coming back soon, cheers all.

A beautifully run campsite with helpful friendly staff, which made our stay particularly enjoyable. The fields are level and firm, easy to put your tent on. We were able to camp in our family group, which has not always been possible in other campsites. And Cheddar is a great place to visit!

Absolutely wonderful site! Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff we met along the way. From the moment we arrived at the site we were met with friendly faces and a huge welcome.
The site and the facilities were great, it had a real community feel which is not always the case when you visit some sites. We had our 2.5yr old grandson with us who ran wild around the site and loved the tractors and vehicles to play on. There was live music on the Saturday which was great fun. Even though we didn’t use the food vans ( no other reason then we stocked up well before arriving) from what we seen of people enjoying theirs it looked delicious and definitely will be using next time.
It really does cater for everyone with quiet fields, for adults or family fields to let the kids run wild. Not many places offer that! We were super impressed from the moment we arrived, my husband actually said to me before we even got taken to our pitch! Omg we need to book to come back on our next trip!
I really can’t fault the whole experience, some really special memories made with the grandson and definitely many more to come. We will be rebooking to visit again very soon!

Wow without a doubt the best campsite I have stayed in ,you can tell the owners are passionate about their site ,they have thought of everything it's perfect, toilets/ showers spotless ,food stalls selling pizzas cooked breakfasts etc have an outdoor bar ,music on sat night ,choice of family field or quite couples field ,we took our grandson who is nearly 3 and he loved it ,playing with the other kids on site and just running around it's got a proper family community feel to it ,great location I wish all campsites were like this absolute pefect coming back next month 😀

We came here with a group of 12 families to mark the end of primary school, and it was perfect! Massive, very flat pitches, great amenities, loads of showers and toilets that are kept really clean, delicious food, cocktails on site - it was perfect. And every single member of staff we met was so incredibly friendly and kind.
