Cannot fault the service from Scrivens,Tamworth. for myself and my wife. Staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. We both had replacement NHS hearing aids. There was no pressure re: private aids.

I visited Scrivens after several less than enjoyable visits to another Opticians in Blackpool, and I wasn't expecting much given its location, but I was massively surprised by what I found!

The shop itself is like an oasis of calm; a really pleasant and friendly place to visit - I was even allowed to bring in my pushbike - something that other shops seem to take great delight in denying! It's spacious and airy, which helps you to relax, and the staff are incredibly personable and super helpful, encouraging you to try on glasses for as long as you like.

A lady called Julie took me through and administered the dreaded puff-of-air-in-the-eye test, all the while chatting in a friendly, down-to-earth way, which really put me at ease.

Aaliyah the Optician then took over and gave me the actual sight test itself, and that seemed to be over almost as soon as it began, which was a refreshing change after experiencing the long, drawn-out tests at other opticians!

All in all, it was a very pleasant experience, marred only by the sky-high costs of extras like lens thinning, special lens coatings and their "transitions" lenses!

Unfortunately I was unable to afford to pay £200+ for some pretty basic extras, so I left empty handed which was a massive shame, but money's tight and £200 - £300 is just too much for me to pay for a pair of specs!

Excellent service from start to finish. Taken very good care of me. Everything explained to me as we went along. No need to ask any questions thank you I hate coming to opticians. This was a motive experience. Mr Chaggar and Emma thank you. Brilliant service.

So after posting my review stating that Scrivens have declined reviewing the glasses they provided to me against their own prescription, as I have independently determined they are not matching, I got the standard get in touch with customer services. A couple of points from me are:
1. I did that and then took it to the OCCS who unfortunately are not a regulator so have no powers.
2. The question is simple and can be answered here…. If you, Scrivens review their own glasses and find them not matching to your own prescription for me will you finally give a full refund for all three pairs purchased or not. It’s a yes no answer so Scrivens if you respond here that’s the question to answer, pure and simple!
Otherwise well done Scrivens, you’ve taken money, provided faulty goods and caused a lot of anxiety for me, not to mention significant eye strain that matters to me but clearly not to you. The date of the experience started May 25 and I have challenged ever since.
Please give a straight answer.

I have only recently joined my children up to Scrivens, I must say that the staff are absolutely amazing. So kind and helpful. Always welcoming. I would recommend Scrivens to all my family and friends. Thankyou for such a lovely experience 😊

This was my first experience with Scrivens and with this branch. I have been going to Specsavers for years and decided to try this branch due to time pressures in my schedule and the close location of this branch.

I was very impressed!! The eye test was very thorough. The glaucoma test is far gentler that the kit used at specsavers. I felt like I had alot of time, so nothing ever felt rushed. My questions were answered in full. The customer service was excellent. (Nicole is fab). And the pricing was very clear.

Honestly, the pricing was a little higher than I would normally pay and the choice of frames was a little narrower than a larger store. But all in all, the pricing was acceptable and fair. Plus I found x4 frames that I liked so I'm happy with my choice.

Overall. Very good experience. Would recommend and revisit.

Very impressed with the service from all the ladies at Leyton branch. Very friendly and welcoming and a much better experience than at other opticians. Would definitely recommend.

I had Katie help me and I cant rate her highly enough.

Scrivens Bicester. Excellent friendly customer service. Collected my new glasses today. an overall great experiance from eye test to order to collection.

I used specsavers for years but in the end I had to walk away from them because they became so expensive that I could no longer afford them at all im physically disabled and have to live on disability benefits so I don't have much money at all. Scrivens really stepped up to help me so professional friendly respectful and helpful and good prices on glasses I would suggest using scrivens from now on they are amazing

From the moment I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted by Cat, Julie, and Karen, who were both highly professional and genuinely friendly, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. This excellent level of service continued seamlessly through the post-appointment administration.
If it were possible, I would happily give Optometrist Nicola Prior six stars. She addressed my concerns with exceptional clarity and reassurance, explaining everything in a way that was easy to understand. Her ability to simplify complex issues truly put my mind at ease—she went above and beyond in every respect.
Congratulations to the team for running such a well-organised and customer-focused branch.
