Staycation Breaks Avis 

Lovely place, however the lack of wifi really does let these places down, we did have to leave early due to our autistic child and the lack of wifi. Yes we should be able to handle no wifi but unfortunately our son couldn't, the hot tub is amazing for sensory needs and can be used whenever you want.
The tv was hit and miss due to no signal, its was lovely ro have a tv in the main bedroom but will the signal not being great we couldn't always sit and watch something in the evening.
The decor and inside is amazing and the view from the hot tub was lovely.

Absolutely gorgeous place, clean & tidy and a pleasant stay, would definitely return.

The lodge was beautiful, amazing layout and spotless. All the staff we saw on sight was very friendly and polite. It was alot better then we even expected. The pub on sight was beautiful. Overall we has a great relaxing time. 100% will return and I've recommended to friends and family.

Stayed at St John’s Mews in York in a two bedroom property recently. Property was nice but surrounding area quite run down. Issue was first night when we were awoken by loud voices at 2 am when people couldn’t gain entry to their adjacent apartment. Then again awoken at 7.30 am when their locksmith came and started drilling and talking loudly. I complained and their response was that the property adjacent is not theirs so outwith their control and too bad! Really poor customer care. Irony is their conditions of let are really severe about the hirer’s behaviour and level of noise expectation but if you are on the receiving end, tough! I won’t be using them again.

Had a few issues with first break away spoke with them,they sorted everything out for us. Excellent communication and lovely lodges. Definitely recommend

Accommodation was lovely.
Only negative is that the hot tub lid was covered in bird poo.

Communication was pleasant and understandable.
Everything was top notch, the house itself and everything else
. We will definitely go there again.
All my friends and family really enjoyed staying Bridlington . The child did not want to return home. It's s nice place.x

Booking was really easy with great communication, was a little concerned regarding the negative reviews but there is nothing to be worried about. Applegrove is a lovely place, the lodge was clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was great. Takes around 10 minutes into scarborough. We had a great weekend would definitely return.

Beautiful accommodation, lovely scenery and fantastic staff in the pub!! Definitely will visit again.

Setting was lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful Lodge was very clean. Decking area could do with a lick of paint. Quiet disappointed with the hot tub, it looked like it had several repairs done to it. Maybe time to replace as this is the main reason for the break away the hot tub

Amazing place to stay, it’s the second time we have been and the staff are awesome! Lou and H carry on doing an amazing Job.

Lovely lodges, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because we couldn't use the cooker / microwave there wasn't any instructions. Also no instructions for the hot tub. As it was a dog friendly lodge we could have done with a gate at the bottom of the decking to stop the dogs wandering off.
Bar this the lodges were perfect. Very comfortable beds. Ideally situated and very quiet.
The pub wasn't serving food because the chef was sick and everything is closed on a Tuesday.
Would we come again, most definitely especially if these little things could be amended.

Hot tub not working 100 per cent
Had someone called out 3 times about the jets

Firstly, I arrived on site and was not greeted or informed on how to check in. I then found the reception which was closed even though I arrived within normal check in hours 4-8. There was a number on the door to ring which I thought fair enough until after ringing the number 5 times there was no answer. This made me wonder whether I was even going to get into my lodge.

After eventually being taken to my lodge after having to go into the pub on site to ask, I found that the lodge was very untidy and the standard was appalling. As I walked up the ramp towards the lodge there was prime bottles and hair clips left on the outside furniture. The out door furniture was absolutely filthy and wasn’t suitable to be sitting on especially in the nice weather. Then when I went into the lodge I found that there was flys and spiders everywhere, Cobwebs hanging off the curtains, the cutlery was dirty and looked as if it hadn’t been washed. There was bird poo on top of the hot tub.

It was advertised that there was a smart TV however the wifi on site was that bad it didn’t work.

It was also advertised that there was a microwave which I couldn’t find

The owners on site didn’t seem bothered. Give the outside of the lodge a quick wipe down and then carried on with there day without giving us any reassurance

Since then I have spoke to Diane who runs staycation, at first I got offered a free 2 nights stay in a different lodge however because the experience was so bad I asked for a 1 night stay and partial refund. This was over 2 weeks ago and havnt heard a thing since

just what we needed. Somewhere that was relaxing and peaceful, as we also work in hospitality and was desperately in need of a break. We had a great stay, everything was just perfect just wish we had booked 3 nights instead of 2. Great little pub also, shame food wasn't available during our stay but that didn't spoil our stay at all as we ended up having a lovely Chinese takeaway which was recommended to us. Will definitely return. Bridlington is only a short drive away too if your looking for a nice day out.Thank you for a lovely stay !

A nice base for the east coast,bedding clean, lodge needs a little updating, dissapointed that after travelling all day that food wasn't available when the bar opened!

The lodge in itself had the potential to be lovely if it had some attention. As it was, it was dirty and uncared for, inside and out. It was a lovely sunny day when we arrived so we sat outside but the furniture was dirty and dusty, clearly hadn’t been used for a while and not cleaned for our arrival. The parasol was broken and laid on the table so we couldn’t use that. In the kitchen the cupboards were all filthy on the inside and on the fronts. I wasn’t about to start cleaning someone else’s kitchen on my holiday. So we didn’t use them. Just put all our things on the counter - which was hadn’t been cleaned either so needed wiping down. There was no hot water, until we figured out the boiler had been completely switched off, so that worked once we turned it on. But only for water. It got very cold on the second night, but the boiler had clearly been set so that we were unable to put the heating on, so we were all sat there chilled to the bone after a cool breezy day on the coast. All in all just a bit grubby, floors, furniture, coasters were all ruined and need replacing - not what you expect from a luxury lodge. Could be wonderful. Just needs some care.
