Steppes Travel Avis 

Illona organised a fabulous trip for us to Botswana, Zimbabwe & Zambia. We started with mobile camping, then Vic falls and then a couple of fabulous lodges. We had some amazing sightings and met some lovely people along the way.
We have been using Steppes for over 20 years now and have already booked next years adventure with them.

The professionalism of the guides in our small group tour of Georgia and Armenia was exceptional. They were friendly and very well informed. The food was also outstanding. The hotels we stayed in were centrally located and of a high quality

From start to finish, I felt Steppes really cared about making our experience amazing. The team was incredibly responsive and I loved the fact that I had the same travel consultant throughout so they got to know me and what was important for us. Importantly, everything worked seamlessly. The hotel choices were great and the boat in the Galapagos perfect for us and all those things like national park fees and links to forms we needed to complete to get into the country all signposted. We had Bon voyage and welcome home calls and both felt heartfelt rather than tick box. We even had a packing list. Excellent job all round!

The personal interest taken in phone calls to the office, the thoroughness of the guides for whom nothing is too much trouble, the choice of locations and hotels

Booking team communicated well with us before the trip and made planning easy. Trip to India was excellent

We went on a group tour but were able to book our own flights so did our own extension. Steppes are flexible, responsive and have a good understanding of their destinations

Great organisation, great guides, good hotels

Kate was amazing. Our trip was disrupted because of the war and she went over and above my expectations to make my journey great. Hasan, my guide, was also incredible. He is passionate and extremely knowledgeable about his country and he ensured my trip was a memorable and wonderful experience.

Booking and other preparation really helpful. Local guides helpful, especially Mohammed in Uzbekistan, who always went the extra mile in helping all of our group.
Instructions for being picked up from Tashkent airport could have been clearer!
The large and luxurious Spa hotel in Cholpan Ata wasn’t quite ready for the few guests there when we were there. Very few staff, rarely at reception and communication sometimes problematic. (But helpful waiter in French restaurant, despite limited English).
I would have appreciated some free time - I was a bit museumed out by the end! I realised lots of travel time was inevitable, but we would have had a little more time if we hadn’t had such large meals every lunchtime and evening!
Knowledge of William and Mohammed was clearly shared, and their flexibility appreciated.

The safaris were better than expected, seeing all the wildlife including several tigers and leopards up close was an experience, accommodation was very comfortable and wildlife guides/drivers were knowledgeable and very helpful. With the exception of the missed greet and airport/hotel transfer at the start all other transfers went smoothly. We were more than adequately compensated for the missed transfer.

Highly friendly, attentive, efficient and knowledgeable guide and speaker.

Arranging agent listened to our needs & wants, organising our itinerary & suggesting appropriate (amazing) accommodation. Their app works very well, all connections & transfers ran smoothly.

What made our experience in Uzbekistan great, was:
1) the ability to plan our trip well in advance with Jim. All our requests were met, incl. excellent accommodations
2) our National Guide was also great with a very good English. He was not only knowledgeable but he also cared about his charge - we, 3 ladies between the age of 70-75! -
3) Steppes Travel App is a winner! Telling us the Airport Gates opening even before the Airlines.
For a custom made holiday, exploring the World, I would definitely recommend Steppes Travels. We felt very safe and well looked after!

I have used Steppes for many holidays. Our most recent trip to Morocco really ticked all our boxes; a perfect combination of culture, food, adventure and downtime, which is especially gratifying given that we booked at the last minute. Charlotte listened to what we wanted to experience and tailored a holiday that met every expectation. Morocco is a beautiful country in so many ways. We'll be back.

Custom built trip for our second visit to India. Fantastic itinerary that met all of our requirements. Stayed in some marvellous hotels. Comfortable transfers and knowledgeable and helpful guides. Saw some superb wildlife.
