Our trip to Peru was incredible
Our trip to Peru was incredible. The accommodations were above our expectations. The guides were excellent and we were able to experience the Peruvian culture. This was a dream vacation.
Steppes Travel went out of there way to accommodate our needs. We would highly recommend them.

Not exactly as we had hoped
Your company had good communication during the planning and execution of the trip.
I don't think the trip was exactly as was presented - what I mean is the accommodations were not truly as listed and what we ended up doing and seeing was not truly fulfilled.
In essence we paid A LOT of money for something that was not the quality or experience we were hoping for. If you would like to know more, you are welcome to write back.

central Vietnam Spring 2026
The organisation of the itinerary was done well. The hotels were chosen well. Transport (flights and railways, cars and drivers) were good. Very lovely for intense meetings with local specialists (historian, musician, farmer, rice pancake maker). Individual guides very good (except one didn't get us to all the temples we'd hoped for). General impression of Vietnam is how friendly all the people are, and industrious. Gluten-free diet was looked after well.

Solo holiday
Seemless from beginning to end. Guides were great. Accomodation wonderful throughout. I had great fun, met some wonderful people and throughly enjoyed the activities.

From the start we had a great interactive and iterative booking experience with an agent with local experience and expertise allowed us to create a personalized holiday that matched our preferences and needs. Our recent trip to Egypt was a great success. At every step we were met by a representative who ushered us past long queues and took the stress out of travel. Our guides were knowledgable, our accommodation first class, our boat trip was more like a house party with the added bonus of a panoramic view of the Nile.

Brilliant holiday to Antarctica…
Brilliant holiday to Antarctica would go with Steppes again. Impressed that they were prepared to answer questions beforehand by zoom. They also responded quickly to the few very minor suggestions for improvements i made afterwards. They genuinely wanted me to have the best experience and wanted to know how it had all gone. The Ross Sea is amazing just go...awesome austere teeming with penguins birds and whales fantastical icebergs and vaste ice sheets. Mindblowing.

Prior to travel the Steppes expert was supportive, very helpful, prompt in response and dotted every i and crossed every t!…
The travel involved many flights and changes of location & accommodation with a range of activities. All the ground arrangements worked exactly as they should, accommodations were excellent and help was immediately on hand should it be needed. The whole experience ensured that Steppes will be used again!

The trip was memorable in many ways
The trip was, as always, well organized, bot on the part of Steppes Travel and its contractee, Deccan Odessey! Despite the guest lecturer (William Dalrymple) dropping out for the first half of the trip, the additional lecturer, Anirudh Kanisetti, was superb and having both of them for three days was excellent.
Sally from Steppes made sure that everything worked from a Steppes perspective and the Deccan Odyssey team made sure we were well fed and over-watered; trips functioned; engines changed when hit by bullocks, etc, etc.
After my initial reaction when I had convinced myself that we were all going to be in our 40s (total imagination!), I realised that we had a superb group of co-travellers (as on other Steppes trips, I had taken!)
