Great product, good design process, not unreasonable price (not cheap but you get what you pay for!), very good experience with communication and fitting. Strachan appear to be the only furniture makers to offer true bespoke fitted furniture. My study was very complex to meet multiple needs and they met every challenge to get me exactly what I wanted. Excellent job from design to installation with superb customer service.

Exemplary customer service - the best. Bought office and bedroom furniture from Strachan about 20 years and, due to recent office refurb, I’ve needed some spares. Strachan customer team have promptly sent out parts, no quibble. Sometimes, it is worth paying a little bit more for quality and customer care.

Great experience from design to installation.
We approached a number of companies and Strachan’s designer proposed a solution that best met our requirements. This was a bespoke design and not handicapped by having to fit within a restricted list of unit sizes. We are impressed by the high quality of the units delivered and the care taken during the installation.

Communication was a nightmare start to finish. They failed to send out documents, confirmation of order etc. The surveyor did not bother to actually measure up or review properly, missing electrical inputs and meaning when the fitter came the parts did not fit. The installation had to be completed at a later date after much chasing.

Extremely premium pricing with low quality service. Shop elsewhere if you can!

UPDATE: Following leaving this review Strachans got in touch. After some internal discussion they wanted to highlight:

1. They do not offer compensation as a practice - even if their errors cost you time and money

2. They would consider offering a 'goodwill gesture' equivalent to about a 1.5% refund - but they would only consider this if I took this review down.

(They were very clear they did not want to position it as paying to take the review down... Just that if the review did come down they would be very open to making such a gesture, and otherwise they would not)

I would advise all potential buyers to consider this practice when they see the typically positive reviews on the webpage.

This company has a good reputation, but I take issue with their methods. I paid a deposit on the day of the salesman's visit on the basis of this reputation. The salesman repeatedly assuring me I could change anything. I informed the company that I wished to change a number of things, but the long and the short of it is that they failed to revert to me until after the cooling -off period (the existence of which was not mentioned until after it had passed) and when we were unable to agree on what I wanted at an appropriate price, they refused to let me cancel my order and return my deposit. Rather than enter a protracted court battle, I agreed to a compromise which has regrettably left me with a hideous (and very expensive) piece of furniture which I will have to paint (thereby incurring further expense) to disguise. Sad that a company like this pursue an outcome that was always likely to leave a dissatisfied customer, even if he is a fool who has been easily parted from his money.

I offer no criticism of the fitter or the construction of the furniture at all, but I am NOT a satisfied customer.

Strachan Furniture fitted some wardrobes and a wall bed for us and we were delighted with the whole service and finished product. Lawrence the fitter was very professional, turned up on time, completed the job without any issues and left the room clean and tidy. We could not have asked for more and would not hesitate to recommend the company

I had furniture fitted in my son’s bedroom and a shoe closet in the hallway by Lawrence from Strachan Furniture. The workmanship was great and I loved the design and the way the furniture was fitted and finished.
Lawrence paid attention to details and after his work he made sure that he left the place very tidy. He advised us on how to care for the furniture and reminded us about the furniture 10 year warrant.
My neighbour saw the work that was done and she too loved it and is planning to call Strachan in the near future for her own home furniture.

I had bespoke wardrobes fitted by Strachan and am very happy with the service and the product. Everything ran as planned and the fitter was very hard working getting the work done in a day and a half. I would certainly recommend them

Over the past year I had had bespoke furniture designed and fitted in our master Bedroom, Living room and a his/hers Study. This is the second property where I have used Strachan.

The workmanship is OUTSTANDING. The fitters are top quality who have pride in their work. Also the support throughout the process from the admin staff was also top notch.

I had a library bookcases and ladder from Strachan and although there were several blips on the organisational side the product itself is fantastic and the fitter, Martin Wales, I cannot praise highly enough. He always arrived bang on time, was friendly, polite and incredibly hardworking. His professionalism was outstanding.

The service was excellent from start to finish and the after service continues to be the same. The speedy response times and professionalism from all of the people involved has been exceptional and my library is all I wished for,

Everyone I dealt with was helpful and offered good advice. Very importantly, the work programme set out at the beginning was maintained which allowed me to plan other activities in preparation for moving to a new flat. Gio, who fitted the furniture, was meticulous in his attention to detail and careful to ensure everything fitted properly.

We previously had Strachan furniture in our home office and decided to update the layout. We approached several companies however the Strachan designer gave us the most confidence and the layout he designed met our requirements. They are not the cheapest but the quality is great and the service we received from placing the order through to installation was excellent. Very pleased with the results.

Everything from the initial contact with the company, through the design process and the actual fitting of the handcrafted wardrobe has been an exemplary experience. The actual wardrobe furniture that has been fitted is beautifully crafted and the fitter, Aaron, was magnificent. The original sales pitch was the most reassuring we received, though the quote was not the cheapest. We took our time considering but was not pressured to commit.
We were given a date and that was adhered too. Peter the installer turned up and stayed with us until completion, he worked from 8 until 6 each day and was obviously a craftsman, he like everyone we dealt with were considerate professionals. I am impressed enough to ask for a quotation for future work
