I post this comment with some regret

I post this comment with some regret. My dealings with Tesco credit card for all normal issues have always been as you would expect, routine.
However, now an issue has come up where I need help.
To date there has been none.
I mistakenly used a booking site that purported to be that of the Lake Vyrnwy hotel.
It was not, and I have been relieved of a booking fee that almost equalled the value of the booking - a scam that to judge by the sites of trustpilot and others is common.
It appears that neither Tesco and/or Mastercard will not come to my aid, the protection credit cards seem not to apply to me.
Time to review my credit card supplier and what other means at my disposal.
Most disappointed at this lack of concern from a company that I have greatly respected to date.

No Payment Reminder

I always pay off my monthly statement in full after getting an email reminder. Last month I did not get a reminder and they charged me a late payment fee and interest. I'm still waiting for a response to my complaint. Very poor.

Avoid Tesco credit cards

This is the second time Tesco has blocked my credit card for no valid reason. It appears it is because I have paid money into my account. It will take days to unblock as the staff are too busy to talk to me. It has nothing to do with the spend on my account.
If all their staff are too busy to talk to you they should take on more staff. Tesco shouldn't block a card without informing you and leave you without a means of paying a bill.

very sneaky credit card company

very sneaky credit card company
have had card for some time - initially transfered as 0% balance transfer offer.
They make it difficult later on to track when your interest free period ends, no info on statement , which i have noticed there has been with other credit cards. Next minute you are charged £ 40 interest. Has sentence in very small print stating you will be charged the next month. very poor information for customers, just seems another way to get already struggling people into more debt. Lesson for me to scrutise things more thoroughly! but they make it very difficult for people to manage a debt when the information is not clear. Am guessing i can now only fnd out when interest free periods end if i phone them as no inforamtion on account when i check via online banking,
Dont get caught as i did!

Absolutely appalling this card

Absolutely appalling this card. I have had this card since March 2022. Received a letter from them in June 2022 to say they were increasing my credit limit. 3 days before the Increase received another letter to say my circumstances had changed (they hadn't but would like to know what they knew I didn't) and would not be increasing it. Absolute scumbags. I'm still now stuck at £250 and I've also been told that this limit because of it been so low now classes me as a credit risk. Absolute scumbags

Took out a Tesco credit card with clear…

Took out a Tesco credit card with clear score with 25 months interest free on balance transfers, I transferred a balance and after being charged a balance transfer fee of 4% I’m also being charged interest. Furious isn’t the word no help at all on call centre when I rang. Disgrace of a company in this day and age. Never deal with Tesco again banking or shopping. Disgrace.

Useful support

Useful support, able to resolve requests in a timely manner.

The app doesn't look great through, and is confusing I'd say. But as far as it works, no complaints.

Being a client for ~8 months, never had issues with Tesco Credit.

I paid a deposit on a foreign rental…

I paid a deposit on a foreign rental car only to discover later that they'd actually charged me for expensive insurance. I immediately called Tesco c.c. to block the transaction only to be told I needed to wait a month to apply for a refund ( by which time it's come out of my bank account). This is despite the rental company in question being very familiar to Tesco in ripping people off (as told to me by the Tesco agent).
I applied online and got a reply from a Miss Danielle Cameron (a quick check on Facebook showed a pic of a WAG wannabe pouting her lips), from "customer care". What a joke of a description! She basically said it was my fault for giving them a credit card and entering my pin. Hello?? That's what you do when you pay a deposit for a car rental, or hotel room, or whatever.
Refused outright to refund my money or even show a good will gesture like vouchers. I've had that card for 20 odd years spending around £200,000 and they treat me like that!? I'm a shareholder too but that ends now. I won't give another penny to those robbing, unsympathetic b******s.
This woman Danielle Cameron is one of the most condescending people anyone could hope to meet and to have her in a position in customer care beggars belief.
She seems to think it's her duty to be obstructive and unhelpful.
Numerous other posts say how Tesco credit card is one of the worse when it comes to refunds/disputes. I totally believe that.
I WILL NEVER USE TESCO CREDIT CARD AGAIN!! And suggest you don't also!

Designed to take advantage of those struggling with finances

Now I totally understand the whole situation of credit cards in general having bad rep with people struggling financially but just follow me along here for a minute.

I have 3 other different credit cards. At the time when I got these credit cards, I wasn't struggling. I was doing alright for myself, for the time being. Then my financial circumstances changed. I was still fine for a few months after the change of events, I was making my payments on time (for all 4 credit cards mind you). Then I was struggling to find a job, so no income either. The situation eventually became more desperate. I also got indebt to my mother.

After a few months of the saving period came to an end I knew that I wasn't able to keep making payments for my credit cards and so I had to call each one individually and let them know that financially I was struggling and couldn't keep up anymore. All 4 of them (including Tesco cc) understood and so locked out my account for the duration of the struggling period. Then, after about 2 months or so, I finally got a job and so I am paying off my debts at this point. With all the credit cards upon finding out from me that I am finally getting back onto my feet decided to give me a payment plan, I was gonna make a few monthly payments and within 3-5 months, be fully cleared out. But not with Tesco cc. Oh no... this is where the plot thickens.

You see, all the other credit cards I am with understand that I am coming off a period of financial difficulty and so during the repayment period, my account is frozen as well as no interest rate is applied on it. I believe that to be fair. Today I happen to stumble upon my Tesco CC statement for the 2nd month payment and I notice that I have some interest applied on it. Strange, was it a late payment? That's what I thought at first and so I decided to give them a call. Usually, the interest rate happens if the final deadline of a monthly payment is on a Sunday and you pay it on the day but the banks don't "credit" you until the next working day and so on paper, it looks like you're making a late payment. I usually talk this out with my creditors and we always work it out as a technical error because they can actually see the time when I attempted to make the payment rather than when banks credit it.

Turns out, it wasn't a late payment but an interest because you have a balance on your account. Now I know that in normal situations, yeah, balance is supposed to be cleared out, but this isn't a "normal situation", this is me coming out of a period of hard financial difficulties. Heck, even the person I was on the phone with herself LITERALLY ADMITTED IT: "We do not expect you to make the full payment once you're back on your feet" and so I respond with: "Yet, you expect us to pay you interest rates now?" For the record, to date, I have already cleared the balance of two accounts, repaid my mother in full, almost finished with Tesco CC and still have a few more months on one final CC and yet, during this period of hard time, none of them have charged interest rate, except Tesco cc. I tell them : "You're literally taking advantage of people struggling financially here", and all they can reply with is "It's in our terms of conditions"

Bloody greedy b*st*rds, none of my credit cards applied any interest during my period of repayments apart from these guys who also admitted to me that even if a person is struggling to make payments, interest rates will still apply to their accounts, unlike all the other credit card companies that literally have a conversation with you, run through with your finances and decide that because they still want to retain you due to... well, I always made my payments on time, my credit has also been good and they are honest people who want others to keep using their credit cards. But not Tesco CC, after my conversation with them today, I'll pay them off fully this month, including the damn interest rates they applied and then have my account with them permanently deleted, heck any colleagues at work talking about credit cards and I'll run through a rant with them (like this review here all over again) and tell them to not ever get Tesco CC, or if they have one, I'll literally preach to them on why they should get rid of their cc.

Final point I want to make, all my credit cards are:
1. Aqua Credit Card (this one is high interest rate but despite their ridiculously high interest rate, these guys have been fully understanding and never once applied interest rates on me. This was also the credit card I have the most amount of debt to as well.
2. Virgin credit card, this one is a meh, but still, they understand when someone is struggling and won't take advantage of them.
3. American express (best credit card ever)
4. Tesco CC - Are you struggling financially? Too bad, you're the right candidate to pay our ridiculously high interest rates.

50 MINUTES ON THE PHONE FOR NOTHING.

I was on the phone having to listen to that horrible background music for over 30 minutes. Spoke to someone who transferred me and the next person literally told me they didn't have someone to speak with me and had to hang up. All I needed was to check my credit card was active or not. Let's see if I actually receive a call back. Thank you very much.

Call back limbo …

I have been waiting for the security department to call me back for 7 calendar days over a stupid mistake . I have been promised five call backs , none that have been completed . The last advisor I spoke to advised me to stop calling . Great . I have called several times every day to receive the company line of - that department are busy there is no one to help you .

A complaint has been opened three times , and is yet to be resolved .

It seems to be pass the hot potato as they continuously point the finger of blame at another department , but offer no solution to a simple block that is on the card .

Other than being inept at resolving simple customer issues , the tone of most advisors is rude and obnoxious .

It seems nobody there actually knows what their job is . I have approximately 2500 in limbo , with no access to my credit card funds - which ironically means less business for them.

All I want is to be contacted and complete their security checks and spend their money !

Awful awful bank & credit card service

Awful awful bank & credit card service! Did not send a replacement card after old one expired. Upon contacting them myself was told my card & services were terminated without a reason or warning, yet im still getting charged tons of interest & late payment fees every month! Contacted them on three occasions to request assistance/relief on ongoing interest & late payment fees, but they ignored me and literally fobbed me off. I absolutely despise this bank/credit card company, they are greedy & dont give a damn about customers whatsoever. I will be reporting them to the financial ombudsman and taking this matter further….AVOID THESE CROOKS!

Tesco credit card unprofessional service

I made a complaint as I was given wrong balance transfer fees which caused me inconvenience
Complainers team listened to call and upheld complaint but even though was incorrect information I still had to pay the difference so that my name doesent go on a credit file which financially isn’t fair as they gave me misinformation that nothing will affect my credit file know they said it will if I don’t pay the difference.
Such bad information
I have requested a manager to call so let’s see
