Good car in the end, but poor communication and repeated delays
I bought a car from The Car Traders and I'm happy with it overall. The car drives well, the price was fair, and the owner did make sure the agreed work was completed before I collected it.
The main issue was communication. My collection date was pushed back several times, and during that week it was hard to get hold of anyone. Calls and messages often went unanswered, which made the process more stressful than it needed to be. The advert also said cars come with a fresh MOT with no advisories, which wasn't the case at first, though they did agree to sort it.
To be fair, once I spoke to the owner in person, things were resolved and the paperwork was handled properly. With better communication and keeping buyers updated, this would easily be a better experience. My advice to other buyers: get any agreements in writing and check the car carefully before paying.

THE BELOW IS COMPLETELY UNTRUE!
The car was in pieces with the bumper on the roof and the whole vehicle jacked up.
I had been told twenty minutes earlier at the original location the car was being cleaned.
They said they would deliver it the next day then drive 4 hrs home, took the next day off and then after a long battle and more untruths they were delivering the car Monday. Monday came, they said Wednesday. All
Of this was by WhatsApp fortunately.
There are so many other awful elements to this car story but the solicitors can deal with it now . It’s been horrible stressful.
In court with this company, when I arrived to collect the car the owner told me the car would be arriving in ten minutes. Finally I found the car down the round at another garage in pieces and completely unroadworthy . After three days of promised delivery and lie after lie (all documented on my phone) I cancelled the car. The company are now refusing to pay me my money back, I have had to start legal proceedings, PLEASE DO NOT USE .
I have a legitimate contract with this garage

We feel it is important to clarify the circumstances surrounding this matter, as the review does not reflect the full sequence of events.
Following the agreement, collection was discussed for the following day. However, the customer arrived before our office opening time, while the vehicle was still undergoing servicing at the workshop. We did not hide the vehicle or its location; instead, we took the customer to the workshop so they could see the car for themselves while the work was being carried out.
Our mechanic also pointed out some minor scratches and offered to polish the vehicle to improve its appearance. The car required approximately two more hours to be fully prepared for collection, and the customer was made aware of this.
The customer subsequently returned home and rejected the vehicle through their finance company before the preparation process was completed. We therefore disagree with the suggestion that we deliberately misled the customer or supplied a vehicle without giving them the opportunity to inspect it.
We understand that delays can be frustrating, but the vehicle was undergoing preparation, and the customer was shown the car and informed about the work required. Regarding the refund and the ongoing dispute, we will address the matter through the appropriate channels and in accordance with the relevant agreement.
We believe it is important that anyone reading this review has the opportunity to consider the full context, rather than only one side of the situation.

I purchased a car from this…
I purchased a car from this “dealership” I use that would very lightly. They told me they had service my whole vehicle and that they had cleaned it inside and out, my winderwiper was broken my break pads and disks all had to be replaced, which they argued with me about doing. They also passed an Mot on my car after it had originally failed!! My bank windows do not go down and back winder wiper does not work. With regards to them apparently cleaning my vehicle once I got it home it had dirty bottles of half drunken water in the glove box and middle compartment.
When I called the company to express my concerns the owner who I spoke with had an argument with me over the phone and was very condescending and passive aggressive! Once the day came for me to take my car back to have all repairs done it needed they proceeded to tell me they weren’t able to work that day, I then said I will bring it another day they knew what day I was coming down and on the morning of this day they said they only had one mechanic working so they’ll SEE what they can do!!
I have never experienced customer service skills so so poor and rudeness levels were high , when paying £11,000.00 for a car you want one that atleast has break pads and disks!
