My Bad Experience
My experience mimicked others. I placed an order for an outdoor table, had money deducted at time of purchase, waited 5 weeks only to be told it was oversold and it’s out of stock. They claim it will take two more weeks to process my refund. How is this business legitimate? Perhaps it uses the cash flow to stay afloat. I’m filing a BBB complaint.

Similar expirience to many other reviews. Placed an order for a single table, after 4 days, hadn't shipped so I called. Was assured by customer service that it was in stock, and would be shipping shortly. (They pull money from your account before the item ships and almost immediately) a week after that, I call back, say... is this item I'm stock and can you fill the order.... customer service again says... yes and yes. A week later I inform the representative on the phone that I had a party (outdoor) I was hosting and needed table within 9 days. Rep said, in stock, will be there in time. 2 days before the party I recieve email that .... sorry... we made error and it is out of stock. 2 DAYS!?!?!? I suggest a substitute table that is more $ but similar size and color, Thos. Bank wants me to pay the difference, I kid you not. When I decline, they lie in the response email and accuse me of hanging up on them. Dumpster Fire of a company and pretty sure there is something criminal going on here with how they charge and never ship. (Are they selling stock they done have? Using your money to as short term loans with no expectation of ever filling, then issue refund months lster?) Honestly the old comcast had better customer service than these jokers. Stay away, or expect to pay double what ya thought and to wait 3 months for any order to be delivered...if it ever gets delivered. I cannot not say enough about how bad this company is from a customer service stand point. Other than I ordered table in mid June, and I have 8 chairs in formation on my back deck with no table, on July 21st. My cookout party was an absolute embarrassment by the way. Pretty sure they are fake or shell company. "Verified Reviews" appears to be complete BS and a "pay me for good reviews" site that buys top space on google, and FB site has one single like per post even though they have "30K people following" their page. LinkedIn lists total of 4 employees..... highly suspicious. You have been warned.

this is the worst furniture. The metal rusted within a year and they wont do anything...its very expensive...and i don't even keep it outside...i have had costco furniture that is better...i didn't contact them until a year as i didn't notice it in the winter as it was covered...this company is horrible on customer service...i will never buy anything from them

Terrible customer service
I placed an order for over $7,000 worth of outdoor furniture over a month ago. I was not notified at the time of purchase that these items are on back order and shipment would be delayed another 2 weeks. After waiting until well after the designated time I tried calling customer service multiple times. Each time I am told that someone would get right back to me. I have not received one call back nor have I received any emails advising me that my items are still on back order. Today when I called I was told that I could not be transferred to the warehouse for any information because the customer service rep doesn’t know the number for the warehouse. I will be cancelling my order.

I purchased two box cushions at 89.00 each on April 26 2018 to be used on two interior chairs and after about a month they both starting showing imprints where you sat. I took photos of the cushions and sent them off to a "Senior" Customer Service Representative a few days later a "Case" Specialist no doubt a "Senior Specialist" told me to "fluff them like a pillow".
The cushions have now been moved out of site. I will never purchase anything from Thom Baker again.
PAYING TOP DOLLAR FOR LOW QUALITY!
The seat cushions I ordered are of very poor quality. I am very disappointed, the price is extremely high for such a poorly made cushion. I will not trust the so called "good reputation" of this company again. A no return policy is in place for this crummy product. And there was no offer to remedy my complaint.
I should of purchased the outdoor furniture from overstock and saved 1/3 Not satisfied
I normally buy my out door furniture from Frontage and RESTORATION Hardware but they could not deliver on time for the the short summer season so i purchased from Thos Baker thinking for the price it would be in line with Frontagate and Restoration hardware .First The furniture is made well but the cushions are of poor quality heavy wrinkles around all the welting fabric has excessive bagginess poor quality stiching and bottom cushion slides out while your sitting on them .I contacted customer service and sent pictures of cushion bottoms and backs there answer from the customer service case /claims manager stated that they where made according to specs and theres nothing can be done i asked her if i could speak to a higher up person and she refused me .Bottom line i should of purchased the outdoor set from Overstock.com for a 2/3 of the price if you look at all the Google reviews all bad .R
Pathetic service and delivery
I ordered several thousand dollars of furniture on July 3. They promised delivery in 2-3 weeks. In 2-3 weeks, i got an email that it would be another month. They missed their second window 2 days ago. I called and they said they are waiting on information from the warehouse. Of course, they have my money and I dont have product nor any idea when I will get the product. Really poor service.

Wish I had read these reviews before ordering, I see a pattern, of long delays, incomplete orders and bad customer service, just like I have also experienced.
Ordered two chairs mid April, finally received them June 1, but it was only the frames--no cushions. Called customer service, they confirmed cushions should had been included in the delivery. It took another week for Customer Service to tell me the cushions are made in Denmark, are on back order and should ship on July 31. How long will it take to get them from Denmark??????
So chairs I ordered in the Spring, but will not be usable until after summer is over. I've requested a refund, but have not gotten a response yet.

I ordered an outdoor sectional sofa, the Melrose, and encountered unexplained delays, damaged merchandise TWICE, very slow/no problem resolution (seemingly no real attempt to work on replacing the damaged couch the second time), no communication on the status of follow up deliveries, and the most full-of-attitude customer service person I have ever encountered. My most recent problem was acknowledged by email on August 1st, and I called today (8/16/16), because I hadn't heard anything, to find out there was essentially NO STATUS of my replacement item...but that the extended delay in getting another piece out to me was because my "special case of two damaged deliveries was being address with special attention and special packing."...? I started this process in April, to have a full summer with new outdoor furniture...It's now mid-August. I hope I can get the furniture I wanted in place and not have to deal with this company again; actually I would gladly have them pickup my purchases, credit me back and call it a day.
also note: The material (for the "wicker" webbing) used in the Melrose furniture, which is a new line for Thos Baker, is nowhere near as strong or durable as other outdoor furniture I have owned. I had requested a sample before ordering, but in the small, tight sample square provided I could not tell that it was hollow, rather thin-walled plastic tubing which seems to be weakened by stretching (which may explain some of the damage I witnessed on items delivered to me). The structure of the Melrose pieces also provides ample opportunities for nesting pests (wasps, yellowjackets, etc.).
Condescending and Rude Customer Service Agent
It's hard to believe you can spend over $4,000 with a company and still be treated in a rude and disrespectful manner by ThosBaker but that's exactly what happened to me. After waiting over five weeks for my custom cushion and bench to arrive, I finally learned that the UPS package was damaged and sent back to them. They didn't apologize -- just blamed the shipping service. I also learned at that time that the bench I ordered wasn't even ordered. (I ordered it online and why would I order just the cushion? If there was a question about this, they should have called me and been proactive.) I agreed to order the teak bench over the phone. It took a week to arrive and it came in parts. I was not told I would have to put it together. (None of the other furniture I've ordered from them needed to be put together.) The directions were terrible. I hired a handyman and he couldn't even figure it out. I called to complain about this and see if I could find out how to put it together. I was addressed in the rudest and most surly manner I've ever been spoken to by a man that wouldn't help me or put my call through to a manager. He hung up on me as he was laughing. His only remark was "well if you would have read our website you would have known it had to be put together." I was sold this item over the phone it they NEVER told me any labor was required. What I really wanted was a kind voice and a sincere apology for the frustration and inconvenience. I didn't get that. What they'll be getting from me is as many bad reviews as I can write and verbally share with friends, neighbors and business associates. Don't buy from them. There are plenty of other high-end furniture stores that know how to talk with and treat their customers.
Did not meet expectations
I ordered a 5 piece Moderne set (round table, 4 arm chairs) and the experience has been awful. I placed order in mid-May in order to have in time for Memorial Day. Item arrived the Friday of Memorial weekend and everything was damaged....the table and all 4 chairs. Called immediately and had to go through submitting TONS of pictures. Long story short - shipped 1 replacement chair, 1 replacement table. Table #2 damaged. Agreed to keep one and still waiting for touch up paint and now it's almost July 4th weekend. Got a big runaround. Have sent them at least 20 emails and made numerous phone calls to get resolved -- overpriced and quality is lacking. Shipping is awful - boxes arrives totally destroyed resulting in parts missing from box and stuff damaged. They do use FedEx, but it's FedEx Freight and takes a week or more if you are on the East Coast as I am. The set is fine (I guess). Not what I expected for the price that's for sure. Service needs to be improved and streamlined. I won't buy again.
Just what I wanted
I added a writing desk to the bedroom but could not find a chair that was on coasters with arms that would fit under the desk. I was very nervous about buying a chair without sitting in it but the Thosbaker chair is perfect. Lovely fabric, rolls under the desk beautifully and is very comfortable. Just what I wanted.
not what I expected
Ordered 2 Teak Adirondack chairs based on the photos and website description. I thought that they were a little overpriced, but was convinced that the quality would be evident to justify the price. However, when I saw the chairs in person, I was very disappointed that the quality did NOT justify the price. Not only were there there were some specific problems that led to a customer service interaction (see below), but there were also many details in the construction that I did not expect to see from such a high-priced item.
Upon receipt, one of the chairs was damaged, and both exhibited what I would refer to as "premature aging." The aging was evident by considerable variation in color among the slats and wood-grain on any individual slat (all had some degree of "graying" - not the uniformity of natural teak displayed in the website images). I was also a little disappointed to learn that the chairs were imported. Based on the price, I expected them to be made in the US. I was also disappointed in the finish quality: it, too, was different from the website images. I expected there to be some sort of finish, but they seem to be unfinished.
Since these were a gift, wasn't able to open them immediately upon receipt. Initially, the customer service rep denied my claim for a damage replacement because I didn't report it within 48hrs of receipt (as per the terms & conditions). After some wrangling, they did replace the chair and accept its return at no additional cost. However, there was nothing they could do about the color variation. All that was offered was
"As for the coloring of the teak: this is natural process. We can send you a product that will shine the color up a little bit if you would like."
Again, at this price point, I don't think I should have to modify the finish in any way.
Overall, it was not a good experience. I would not order from this company again.
Furniture for The Fort Atkinson Club
The furniture was delivered on time, was very good quality, and very comfortable. I would definitely order from Thos. Baker again.
