I completed an online form with U Drive Cover and paid a deposit, expecting to review the final terms before accepting. When they revised the premium, I chose not to proceed. No policy documents were issued, no start date was agreed, and no cover was ever active.

Despite this, they deducted £100 from my refund, claiming “misrepresentation,” even though misrepresentation fees only apply to active policies. Their team repeatedly insisted I had “purchased a policy” simply because the payment page allowed me to proceed, which is not how insurance contracts work.

The situation forced me to urgently insure my van elsewhere using a credit card I did not intend to use. After several unhelpful emails, I escalated the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

This has been a stressful and unnecessary experience, and I would advise others to be cautious.

The guy I was on the phone with was extremely helpful and did a very good job of answering all of my questions even tho I had a lot. Helped me put an end to a very stressful situation for me in a very easy way 👍🏼
