Very knowledgeable guides and expert drivers

Every tour was masterful and amazing! So happy I used this group and would do it again and again!

We did the Whale Watching Trip in Reykjavik, booked via Venture Ashore, which was very good and we saw a lot of whales, or may be it was the same one several times! The boat was called Andrea and the crew were helpful and the person doing the commentary was good and appeared to be very knowledgeable about whales. The on board cafe bar was good (hot chocolate about £2) and takes UK credit cards. The mini bus picked us up from the ship on time and took us back to the ship at the end. We all really enjoyed the trip.

Our cruise call at port in Iceland was cancelled and we received good communication and money refunded. Would definitely use again.😊

Excellent. The guide was very informative. It was well organised. The pick up point was easy to get to. The driver even dropped us back directly to the ship. Would recommend. Dean and Jayne.

Poor customer service, not reliable. We are asking for a refund for an excursion that venture ashore did not collect us but they do not accept their responsibility. They keep blaming us for not being there.

DO NOT USE VENTURE ASHORE We went on a cruise in July 2024 and we missed our excursion booked with this Venture Ashore because they did not collect us from the port of Piraeus. They did not email us to say they had changed the time. Extremely poor service and they refuse to accept responsibility. We paid £142.00 but they refuse to refund. No email communication for changing excursion time. No one to collect us at the time of excursion. We were left in a parking area for two hours. Extremely disappointed.
DO NOT USE THEM.

We able to adapt your to our own level. Guide very knowledgable answering any questions we raised and gave us options on how we wanted our day to go. Recommended excellent local restaurant for lunch Very good day We would certainly use Venture Ashore again and .recommend Venture Ashore to friends

Our guide Tunc was excellent and the tour of House of Mary and Ephesus was fantastic, so interesting as Tunc’s knowledge was extensive. The tour was very well organised and we would definitely recommend it.

We were greeted by lovely Tunc who off his own bat asked our driver to do a detour to enable him to treat my husband and I to breakfast from the oldest bakery in Izmir. We were the only 2 people so had our own private tour guide. Tunc was friendly, very knowledgeable and passionate about providing us with as much information both on the House of Virgin Mary and Ephesus. We had the most amazing day with Tunc, in fact it was the highlight of our cruise!

The trips were well organised and mostly enjoyable. Mostly interesting and educational.

We recently booked 3 cruise trips with Venture Ashore. They were very reasonably priced in comparison to the cruise liner trips, and very easy to book.
We struggled in Rome to locate the guide / driver as he was outside the port - and quite a way from the suggested meeting point. We rang the contact number 3 times but no one answered!!! We eventually found the driver 20 mins after the tour was due to start by chance, and the other family on the trip had the same issue.
This is our only complaint, the guides and tours were otherwise excellent, and only small groups so we felt like it was a really personal touch!
All Three tour guides had amazing local knowledge and were very helpful on the trips.
Would use Venture Ashore again, but improvements definitely need to made on the meeting points / contact details.

We booked a 3 tour package to Ireland and Scotland.
2 out of the 3 tours the Guide didn’t have a sign, so we had to spend some time looking for them at the meeting point. This caused a bit of panic as the start time was close.
2 out of the 3 guides were excellent but unfortunately 1 of the guides was well passed retirement age and kept loosing his train of thought, this was a bit embarrassing to listen too. He also had trouble with the”Mic” and we couldn’t hear him a lot of the time. Lots of the passengers kept calling out to him about this, suggesting he held it closer to his mouth, this caused a bit of an atmosphere. I felt uncomfortable. He clearly enjoyed his job but we feel it’s time for retirement.
On the whole we enjoyed our trips and would book with this company again.

We really enjoyed the gardens. They were absolutely beautiful. However, our driver did not care of our concern about making it back to the ship on time. When we voiced our concern and asked him to just skip the remaining talking points and get us to the ship as quickly as possible he completely ignored us.

Last year I booked an excursion through venture ashore , and they cancelled it the day before saying the website shouldn’t have shown the option as my cruise was only getting in an hour before the excursion was supposed to start leaving us with nothing. This year I ordered the same excursion over 9 months in advance and made sure there was enough time for the cruise to be in and they waited until now to cancel it again ! Absolutely useless , wouldn’t recommend, book with someone that’s not going to leave you waiting and then cancel leaving you with nothing. Don’t offer something you can’t deliver.

Great experience with Venture Ashore. Cruise boat docked at Warnemunde. Coach was there & waiting. Coach was comfortable & driven well. Picked up our tour guide, Jonathan, in Berlin. We did the tour of Berlin stopping off at various points of interest. Jonathan was an absolute gem in explaining the history of Germany & Berlin, obviously. He condensed the information well without managing to miss out important details. He made the tour very interesting

You did not pass on the change in time the tour company sent. We were the only 3rd party participants not notified.

This tour exceeded all expectations. The level of expertise and information provided was outstanding. It was an easy, engaging tour with a very capable guide. Highly recommend.
