We had a bathroom designed and installed by Wickes. The initial design appointment was good, and the range and quality of products has also been high. However, anything related to installation and communication has been awful. It started with having to chase our design consultant for a final appointment after we had paid to confirm final details and correct some minor errors.

Delivery: We were consistently contacted saying we would have items delivered several months before they were due and had to send a lot of phone calls and emails to rectify this. We also never spoke to the same person twice, a consistent theme with Wickes. Eventually things were delivered roughly on time, but in multiple orders, with some duplicates and some missing items which we had to chase. Also, we found that our design consultant ordered around twice as many tiles as we needed, which we had to return ourselves.

Installation: The installation by a Wickes-provided installer started late, and then took longer than we were promised, despite being told the original timescale was more than sufficient. The installer was difficult to get hold of, and when they had to come back to ‘finish things off’ they ended up not coming when agreed several times.

Grout defect: Subsequently we’ve had problems with the grout on all the tiles (wall and floor) leading to grout running and staining the tiles. The installer was unable to rectify this. Despite contacting Wickes several months ago to report this defect, we are no closer to this being resolved.

Leak defect: Two months after installation we suffered a water leak from the new bath and shower, damaging the floor and ceiling below and requiring an emergence plumber.
The way Wickes have dealt with this defect has been shambolic - they are very difficult to get hold of, are refusing to refund our emergency plumbing costs despite us providing evidence and again we are no closer to any issue being resolved. They are reluctant to communicate via email or schedule phone calls (rather than phoning from unknown numbers during the work day) and have tried to insist on original installer being sent back to ‘fix’ their defective work. Once again we can’t speak to the same person more than once and we are no closer to having issues resolved.

I would buy products from Wickes again but absolutely not engage with anything around customer service or install.

Having researched a few companies regarding a kitchen installation we decided to choose Wickes for this project. Jasmine Geor was our first port of contact and she did a wonderful job in designing a kitchen to suit our needs. Also she was there when we had any concerns.
SH Joinery who carried out the installation did a great job. They were very professional and asked us if we had any minor alterations before they finalised individual components.
The bottom line is, we couldn't have asked for a better company to deliver and install our dream kitchen.
PS The customer service department were also exceptional regarding any queries we had.

Just had our new kitchen installed by Wicks and we are so pleased. Rob Hicks was incredible, seeing to our every need and advising on how best to accommodate our wishes on a tight budget. Huge thankyou also goes to Neil the kitchen fitter recommended by Rob. He did an amazing job and transformed our kitchen . I cannot praise them high enough

Shane was absolutely superb he’s a very nice and polite man with clear advice he came to see my kitchen fully helped me with the design I wanted plus more I highly recommend him and the company 10/10

We recently had our kitchen designed by Hayley. She was so helpful and listened to exactly what we wanted and made some really useful suggestions. She was very patient and never flinched when I changed the position of a tap a million times! I would definitely recommend Hayley if you're thinking of a new kitchen.

I had a bathroom design appointment with Janice yesterday and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. She was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and very helpful throughout, taking the time to answer all of my questions and offer great advice without any pressure. She made the whole process enjoyable. I’m really looking forward to hopefully moving ahead with the installation in the next few months. Thank you, Janice, for your excellent service!

The staff at a the Huntingdon store are always helpful, many thanks to Alex and Shannon for helping with my queries, it’s great to see older hires helping out newer workers with knowledge and encouragement.

Now been left with painting ceiling myself as now told not included no help from any direction 82 years old osteo arthritis when is this nightmare going to finish never pay up front to any company for work
Clever move by wickes when we said we want to cancel order preferred in march and paid for up front fitter turned up next day to start and stripes our kitchen out no further work as told bits missing if order another week in hell update some bits delivered apparently some still missing the total incompetence of this company gets better day by day

Thursday update further disasters fromwickes 3rd expected delivery of parts again short have been told now expected to start next end of next week think we will have to book in hotel impossible to live in these conditions daily telephone conversations don’t get any better all joy having new kitchen gone.
NEVER pay up front for work or go to wickes

I came to Wickes Wolverhampton and manjit asked if i had a trade card. She could see i was in the trade. I didn’t have one and have been shopping at the store for a while. Im always in a hurry so don’t have the time to chat. She quickly signed me up. And explained the benefits and helped me get the app on my phone & showed me hie to use. Great experience thank you

Great tidy store, came in with my dad Saturday evening and was ordering a bathroom with minutes so helpful and professional

My 89yr old Mum and I had the best possible experience of visitor service from Tony at your Swindon branch last week. He was knowledgable, patient, kind and extremely helpful, going the extra distance. He's a total asset to the company, please pass on our thanks for brilliant customer care.

Amazing service at the banbury store from two young men named Jay and Tony. Helpful. Polite. Repectful. Wicks are lucky to have them. These two are evidence that there is a lot of hope for this country yet. Also the delivery man was really helpful and friendly. He carried the materials round to my back garden without being asked. wicks seem to have got things right with their staff and should be congratulated. I won't go anywhere elsenow.

We had a lovely man called Neil H , helped us on our buying trip to Wickes , he couldn’t have been any more helpful he came round the store with us and helped with all the fittings, pipes, and a new bathroom basin and vanity unit &taps we didn’t have a clue what we needed for this job but Neil was on it he knew exactly what we needed , if there was an award for an employee he should definitely get it , thank you Neil , my husband and I have now fitted the basin and pipe work and couldn’t have done it without your help

Great store. Great staff. Great products. There are to many helpful staff to mention. But Daisy and Barbara are superstars.
