Abysmal service.
Moved into a new house to find raw sewage flooding across my drive, which then got walked into the house by the removals company. What a great start!
Yorkshire water were called by myself and two solicitors. They said they were coming out but didn’t show. I paid a plumber to clear the blockage ( caused by my neighbour) so that I could use my facilities. I also paid for carpet cleaning.
Yorkshire water turned up A WEEK LATER, and said that I shouldn’t have cleared it myself!!! They did NOTHING to help clear the residual sewage from the drive. All they did was to slop some disinfectant down one of the drains, which still has sewage in the grate 6 weeks later.
I complained to Yorkshire Water. They said that there was no requirement for them to attend within any specified period of time, and that as a result no compensation was due.
What an absolutely abysmal attitude to customer service. Taking zero responsibility for remedying a public health hazard. 
Helpful and efficient in time of need
Unfortunately, I had an issue with no running water this morning, on phoning Yorkshire water to report this issue I was informed there had been an outside leak in my area which Yorkshire water was attending to and the running water will be back on tap as soon as possible, I was also advised that being a pensioner with some health issues I was able to use a priority number which I could use if necessary and would be provided with bottled water if I needed it until the issue had been resolved, which I found very helpful.

I had a very satisfying interaction with Yorkshire Water's customer service agent who was able to fully answer my queries in relation to my latest water bill.

No attempting to communicate with an imaginary person or being forced online, good customer service given by a friendly helpful human. Yes I had to wait in a queue but I was told how long I'd be waiting and it was very accurate. Wish more companies were as easy and stress free to deal with as this.
Yorkshire Water wasting our money on a campaign…
Yorkshire Water is using residents money on a radio campaign - replacing water meters right across the region in batches until at least 2029. This is being repeated frequently every day, (aat least on Times Radio ).
CUSTOMERS HAVE GOT THE GENERIC MESSAGE.
Please save the money and customer irritation BECAUSE most customers will need to do exactly: nothing.
Relevant customers will be contacted if and when neccessary.
The roll out is by local authority area in tranches until 2029. The last LAs do not start until 2029. Our area, is from 2027 to 2028. I now know that because the repeated ear torture made me look it up on line.
Please save my ears from further punishment and stop this vacuous wide band broadcasting. Think and save money: focus your generic comms on areas you are about to address and then on customers you need to involve. [How aboutyou Save our money and put your non-urgent comms in the water bills for relevant areas each year]

I rang to explain I was paying the 6 month fee gradually all before the deadline. The kind and helpful gentleman call handler suggested we have a water meter installed to reduce costs and he has booked us in for that. Excellent service.

Extremely helpful. I found out that I can get a reduction on my bill because I live on my own. I had to wait a short while then I was told how much my bill would be reduced by and how much my instalments would be. So efficient. Very pleased with the service.
