Played on a friend's Valheim server with a different provider and had a lot of crashes and he ended up shutting the server down. I check out different providers and decided that 1GServerHost has the custom options I was looking for. Since day 1 I've had no issues with the server that prevented me from logging in and playing my game.

Great support and fast responses as long as it's a reasonable time of day.

I decided to switch to this host after having a poor experience with another popular server host.

I have never used a server host prior to my previous one which only lasted a mere day or two but setting up a server with 1GServerHost was extremely easy.
It has essentially everything I ever needed within the control panel on their website for hosting my Valheim Server.
Mod installation was VERY easy using their automatic installer. You quite literally enter part of the link to the mod and it will install them. Saves time trying to figure out where to place the files yourself.

Overall, it offers much more in comparison to other server hosts for a fraction of the cost. Most hosts limit their player count but this one does not. Also, support is available via ticket/live-chat/discord and they ALWAYS respond within a few hours at most.

TLDR: 5 Stars Server Quality for the price.

I have been hosting my own servers for 15 years and had not previously considered paying for external hosting. When V Rising launched with a dedicated server only supporting Windows, I had to choose between standing up a Windows VM for hosting or pay for an external.

I, out of curiosity, did a quick search and found 1GServerHost at a very reasonable price that would save me the time of bothering with it myself. I decided to take the chance and try their service.

Initial Account / Server Provisioning: 5/5 (easy)
Server Stability: 5/5 (hasn't gone down once yet)
Server Control Panel: 5/5 (easy to setup, customize and configure with an intuitive control panel)
Cost: 5/5 (was half the cost of competitors, with equal or better hardware and better options)

I discovered there was a billing issue for several months where, through my own fault, I had accidentally set up two payment methods for my account. This had gone unnoticed for 5 payments, and when I discovered my mistake, I opened a ticket and explained what I found. After their own internal review and confirmation, they refunded the entire double payment amount and confirmed that my account was now set up correctly. This is great and honest service from this company.

Blazing fast amazing support. Was able to get my server up and running very fast. All 84 Mods and loading my personal world worked on first boot (when does that happen?)

One of the cheapest/gb for my location(spent all morning looking up other VPS and hostings)

Very ethical business practices, quick to respond when contacted. Server speeds are great and prices are competitive.

I initially was wary of the service as many Valheim hosting providers that provide 1-click Valheim+ installation are equalling this to modding and fail to support customers that are more technical and keep on modifying their game.
I was extremely surprised with the amount of support from both 1G as well as community they have built.
Having ran into an extremely exotic issue with my 50+ mods installation, they were supporting me along the way every step and providing professional and quick answers to any questions I had.
Control Panel they have prepared is great for non-technical users to easily setup their servers and provide unrestricted FTP access (apart from serverstart scripts) to your server. Meaning that you can bypas their automated mod installation service and just do everything by hand if you so wish.
This level of freedom with competetive pricing for actual server resources and not slots, is really amazing.
Highly recommended.

First off, the servers on 1GServerHost are top-notch. When I was looking for a valheim dedicated server I needed something that would keep up with me and my grindy friends. The setup process was easy and user friendly. In addition, we experienced little to no latency issues which was big for us because my friends were located all across the world. Another thing to mention, customer service is great. Though I did have a little hiccup when it came to trying to regain access of my account and cancelling my subscription. The guys on customer support were able to help me out right away. Their response time and their diligence to solve the problem is great! Big shoutout to Carl G! Wouldn't have been able to get it resolved without his help. Will definitely come back once the new update is out for Valheim. Also, prices are super affordable. One thing tho I probably should mention that I found out. They do go through a little purge of accounts every so often. So even if you deactivated your services, don't be shock if you can't log into your account.

amazing and excellent service all around. had problems with my valheim server mods and ended up getting really frustrated with the whole downloading process and almost quit. when I finally reached out to the server hoster for help a tech names tyler fixed these problems and showed me how easy the problem was. My Valheim world was deleted due to me forgetting to update billing information. Carl was able to help me out retrieve my old worldfile and got a new server up and running quickly. Thanks Carl :) and 1G

First things first; So far as server stability, latency, slots and the control panel for the server - Everything has worked without issue and performed well consistently.

On that side of things; I can do nothing but recommend 1G, provided it's list of features match your requirements.

Now, beyond that; It's unfortunate that Trustpilot doesn't allow one to grant increments of stars, rather than whole ones.

I'd argue that 1GServerHost is a solid 4.6 performer, at the moment (I will edit my review should the need to do so arise in the future). And there's potential for improvement here.

That being said, the -0.3 Stars (Nothing deserves a perfect 5) that I would like to withdraw, if I could, would be for the inefficiency with which certain issues are handled. In my case; Reaching out to Support when you've made a mistake in your registration.

The fault for causing the issue is mine, of that there is no doubt. However, there's something to be said about the efficacy with which such mistakes ought to be corrected and it's that standard that 1G has fallen short of, for me.

My issue was handled, but it required me to pester Staff that were otherwise busy with other work, and it should not have to come to that.

The systems - whether they be for email delivery, or a second input field present for email confirmation during registration (typing it again, as one does with the password) - are all things that can impact the user experience and thus should be finetuned to work in a way that streamlines the resolution or prevention of these issues.

I will say the following; Had I not made that mistake and been sent down the rabbit hole of trying to get it resolved, I would've rated 1G at 4.9, because in every other way the service has been ideal for my purposes. As such; It should be ideal for anyone else also trying to get a good, reliable host, for a Vanilla Valheim server.

I have not tested the modding side of things.

And even having encountered this annoying problem and gone through the ordeal of getting it resolved - because of the professionalism with which it was handled - I still only withdrew 0.3 stars from my assessment of the quality provided here.

As such; I view both the 1 and 5 Star reviews plastered on here with a skeptic eye. A lot of the reviewers present seem to have issues so far as the application of objectivity goes.

My standards for performance are entirely too high, most of the time, so if all I've got to complain about is an issue most people are never even likely to encounter - Issues that are likely to be "patched" in the future - then I think that speaks for itself.

Again; Solid 4.6 in my book - Which is a rating far higher than most people's whimsical and poorly motivated 5's.

I saddly had some issues with my PC for not beeing able to use. All I can say is that the support is by far the best support I saw! So quick at responding and so kind and helpfull! They do such a great job!

Have used 1G Servers for over a year for Valheim and Ark hosting.

During that time the servers have been fast and consistent, with a good support network for any potential issues as well as offering other features like an integrated modding tool for Valheim, it really helps eliminate the confusion.
A big draw for me the specs behind the servers they use, I have struggled to find another server host that is offering 5.2GHz CPUs and NVME drives from the base configurations
In addition, the pricing has always been very reasonable, often lower than other server hosts.
I intend to use 1GServerHost for future servers

Since my first review I've been renting a server from time to time to play with friends (mostly ARK) and I was again surprised by the performances.

I had accepted that server lag was just part of the game (high dino level and harvest multiplier tends to create lag) with the map Extinction being particularly bad, back when that map released I tried 2 different providers (none of them 1GServerHost) but they both had insane amount of lag during the pod events, it was literally unplayable. I tried again recently with 1GServerHost and there was NO LAG AT ALL !!
Turns out that using the best of the best AND not overworking your machines works wonder 🤔.
(They use 5.2GHz CPU's with NvME's, I looked around a bit and couldn't find any other host with better machines than 4.0GHz)

Since last year they also improved their site and control panel which is now easier to navigate.

So yeah, I'd still recommend 1GServerHost, they could double their prices and it'd still be too cheap for the performances they offer.

I was looking at a few different host services in order to host my own dedicated game server for Valheim.

I've tried a few of them, but this one aced it!
The support team is fantastic!
they helped with what was required, what they recommended and what location to chose, depending on who's connecting.

The UI for the admin is so well made!
It's easy to manage and go through.

Their community where you can find guides and discussions are fantastic as well!

Now the performance is even more crazy than what I thought.. Like I said, I've played on a few different hosted servers, but this one is the king of the prom.
No lag from me or my teammates, the server runs like a charm!

You looking for the perfect Host, with the best Customer Service, then you found them! Servers run so smoothly and the UI for the server is so easy to understand, its absolutely amazing. The customer service is top notch, the support staff are extremely patient and extremely helpful! I needed help installing mods to my server and they helped me install every single one and explained in the simplest way how to do it that i was able to explain it to my friends with no issues. Trust me, you wont be disappointed by selecting 1GServerHost, best Host EVER!

My husband and I have been using this server company for a while now since it was called ArkServerHosting ran solely by Carl, or at least he was the only person my husband had talked to over the years. In the past any issues were remedied and we continued using them till we no longer needed hosting. They underwent some changes and we decided to have a couple ark servers again and found them under this newly formed company, Carl still at the wheel but apparently not involved with talking to customers. We had initially 2 Ark servers then also set up a Velheim server. All was paid through paypal. Well our Velheim server was cut off, they said we did not pay. They could not explain why payment was not set up the same as the other servers or why we did not get a past due email. All they could do was tell us it was our fault and not theirs. This new person who is working for them is rude and costing them their business. We have decided to cancel our other two servers and find another hosting company. I would not recommend this company to anyone who wants a stable connection with uninterrupted service or even offer a professional decency to notify someone if there is a billing issue. Oddly all other forms of payments went out without a hitch.

Edit, adding to this review. This company can not accept bad reviews. Reviews are meant to notify consumers and the company when something is not right. Unfortunately all this did was get my husband banned. No reason other than I, his wife... left this review. Reviews can be changed and updated.... I guess this one will remain the same.

Also they said that we cancelled our subscription but we have the proof now showing THEY cancelled it. I can see what happened now, instead of admitting they made a mistake and fixing it they allow this to blow completely out of proportion. Customers mean very little.

1 --"I can see that your server in question (Valheim) was suspended for a period of 3 days (Unlike what you stated in Discord saying it had just been turned off, in fact it was turned off for the past 3 days.)" --++++That is not the case. When my husband commented on your discord channel was just a few minutes after the server went down and he logged into the Control Panel to start it back up and noticed a little bar that said the service is suspended. He then went to the client section and noticed that the payment for this month did not come out and that there was a 7.50 late fee and the server was disabled for no payment. The two other servers that we were renting from you (which we have now cancelled) had been automatically billing without issue. Our frustration is not so much that something inconvenient happened because we understand things do happen. It has just been your general attitude that has really frustrated us to the point where we no longer want to do business with your company nor recommend you to anyone else. The only reason why we tolerated your attitude as long as we did is because you do offer good features. So we had 3 servers and the Valheim subscription was cancelled by 1gserverhost. In response to number 2. ++++ after we found the email from PayPal which stated the following Copied and Pasted to this forum it was in fact your company that cancelled our automatic payment. My husband attempted to submit through the website a screen shot of the email but it appears you just deactivated his account instead.

In response to #3+++++as stated above, we have the email from PayPal stating 1GServerHost cancelled our subscription.

Number 4, ++++I will not recommend your company to anyone and if anyone asks I will tell them why. You can have as many customers as you respect but if you treat others this way I am sure they will not leave good reviews either.

Number 5 +++++again we have the proof if you would like to see it that the cancelled subscription came from your company, not our side.

Number 7, +++++I don't know what you guys are doing over there but it's not good for your business. Hosting companies are a dime a dozen. You say why would 1G cancel when you would lose revenue but why would we only cancel one then come to you making accusations? That makes no sense... except a 7.50 fee is a revenue if you do it to enough people.
Most of us don't have that much time to waste on something that would serve no purpose. If we wanted to cancel our service we would have without messaging you to find out what happened.

The bottom line here is all we wanted to do is find out what happen and fix it, it was YOU who started throwing out accusations.

I was looking for a quality Valheim server with FTP access and 1GServerHost guys provided that and more!

Their staff is very responsive on both the webpage and even more so on the official Discord and you will not regret choosing them.

Moreover, the web-console interface is very newb-friendly for those of you who aren't too familiar with setting up and configuring servers. 5/5 from me :)
