Blown away as allways been 7 times now…
Blown away as allways been 7 times now and it just gets better and better each time amazing band amazing performance sound system is amazing unlike what others reviews say it’s not like watching a big cinema screen they are actually there it feels like there are on the stage the atmosphere was amazing everyone had a great time and danced
What a let down for true ABBA fans
This was a disappointing portrayal of what could be a phenomenal show! Why have ABBA allowed this to happen for so long. First of all the opening 2 tracks were basically terrible, the sound quality was totally ‘off key’. The animation shown was totally unnecessary and this totally distracted from the show. You could see people, who were really excited about being there, visibly retracting from standing up and dancing. The visual effects are stunning however and it could be an amazing show but get in better backing singers. They just screeched their way through, just focus on what everyone pays to see and that’s ABBA!!! I didn’t want to pay that much for tickets to see cartoons played along with an ABBA soundtrack. If the producers don’t listen to some of these reviews there won’t be many repeat visitors, especially at the highly inflated prices. All they need to do is play the hits, get rid of the band and the animation sections. I was so glad i was seated, the dance floor section was totally overcrowded and NO ONE was dancing with the lack of space. PLEASE look at the energy when ‘Dancing Queen’ and the popular hits came on, it was electric! But unfortunately in between there was far too much other stuff going on that was totally unnecessary in such a short show. Disappointing overall, it was so expensive for 1.5hrs of only a few hits and a light show ☹️
Absolute phenomenal experience still…
Absolute phenomenal experience still can't get my head around how good they look on stage it wasn't amazing experience from start to finish highly recommend it
Abba Voyage of a life time
Easy to travel to and from. Amazing staff at the venue. Unbelievable experience. I felt like they were really there. Live band and singers were out of this world. Best thing I have ever seen.
Take good earplugs/loops/headphones.
Visually: it's fantastic. Technologically: super clever.
Atmospherically : brilliant.
The arena is well set out and you can't really get a bad seat.
Audibly: WAAAAAAY too loud to the point the sound became distorted, tuning seemed to waver about and you couldn't hear the words or singers at all. The band, a good idea, but boy do they need to pipe down especially the bass, and the general master volume level of the whole thing needs to be turned down. It was at damaging levels. We wore Loops and still it was too loud. Staff are very quick to offer you earplugs or even noise cancelling headphones if they see you covering your ears, which is a nice touch...but should this even need to be a thing?
Volume levels definitely took the shine off for many last night.
I liked the fact they did a couple of lesser known ones, starting with The Visitors which is my all-time favourite!
Great visual show, Terrible sound quality!
Having been fans of ABBA music for many years, we were really looking forward to this show, which cost the best part of £180 per seat.
We didn’t read any reviews prior to attending, so went in with completely open minds as to what to expect.
Visually, the whole show is nothing short of amazing - both the light show and the band - ok, when the blown up images of the band are shown either side of the stage, they are clearly cgi images with lip sync slightly out from the singing, but honestly - if you just looked at the stage, you would thing it was real people performing.
What really lets this show down, and I wish I had read other reviews before booking because of this, was the sound.
From the moment the music and singing started, it was clear there was something very wrong!
The band seemed to drown out the singing, to the extent that for the whole performance, the whole thing was distorted most of the time.
ABBA are renowned for their vocal performances, but there was none of this charm here - it was an hour and a half of ear bashing, brash, distorted sound - with the house band often drowning out the vocals of ABBA.
Many other reviewers have made this sort of comment over the last couple of years, and I cannot believe the band members themselves actually gave this the go ahead with such a poor sound quality!
The sound manager should be held to account here - especially as nothing seems to have been done to rectify the issue despite the poor sound reviews.
If the sound matched the visuals here, this would get 10* from me…..but it just doesn’t get there.
Was it great?- visually yes.
Was it audibly great? - the text above answers that - not by a long shot - verging on terrible!
Was it worth £180 - no way - improve the sound quality and maybe getting close, but I have heard better sound quality from madness tribute acts in a local park!
Left the venue feeling a bit robbed and overall a ‘meh’ experience.
I attended the Abba voyage in March and…
I attended the Abba voyage in March and it was quite disappointing. The show began with unfamiliar music instead of the classic hits we were expecting. It was supposed to be a tribute to their old music, but it fell short. I would advise others to save their money as it's not worth it. You're better off just going to the disco next door!
Am amazing experience ABBA as 40 years ago live on stage in concert. Don't miss it
I'm a powered wheelchair user and attended with my carer.
First of all the booking process for an accessible area and secure on site free blue badge parking was the easiest I've ever experienced online.
The staff and venue.
I arrival through a gates secure entrance we were directed to a parking space and met by a member of staff who took us into the arena. We were taken to the accessible and changing room toilets and shown the vending and sales areas before being taken to our unobstructed view space and care seat. We were also introduced to the staff member responsible for our location who took me to the accessible counter bar to order drinks that he carried back to our space. Brilliant. All areas were level access without bumps and the toilets spotlessly clean before and after the show.
The ABBA Voyage show itself was an amazing experience from ABBA themselves rising from beneath the stage. It was impossible to tell that they were not the physical band themselves from 40 years ago. A live band of musicians played to the side of the stage and were ended introduced by ABBA. If wasn't just a stage with the band but a huge steak around video and light show experience that fits me was better than the 2024 Take That show.
The audience was fully engaged and when I looked around virtually everyone was on their feet joining in. Let's be clear this was nothing like a singalong Sound of Music it was ABBA themselves performing on stage with support musicians and light show. AMAZING 90 Minutes.
So good I'd gladly go back for the same show and even one with a different selection of songs.
The selection of food and refreshments was limited and we didn't bother upgrading to the VIP refreshments as I was told that they do not cater for a medical gluten free or vegetarian diet. Fair enough better to know before than after payment and being disappointed.
No problems leaving the arena or getting to the toilets. I literally went down the gentle slope into the car park loaded my wheelchair into the car and was able to drive straight out of the ABBA Arena.
The show guide was £15 and it explained how the production had been made, a good buy.
Great visual experience but EXTREMELY LOUD - bring earplugs!
Plus: fantastic visual experience. Way better than I expected. Beautifully done! Well managed crowd, with no problems getting in and out, loos working, etc.
Minus: fantastically high sound level. Way above anything needed. It was so loud that the sound tracks could barely be made out. You need earplugs! We saw some people with earplugs and probably many more used them. But earplugs muffle the sound, unless custom made...
Also aggressive activity to stop people taking photos or videos. They had dozens of people walking around and looking for phones. Never seen anything like that before. Their takings (google) are over £300M/year so they can't be losing that much due to people taking some pics!
Amazing ambiance and technology
The whole ambiance is amazing - especially if you don't get seats and go in the pit where you can have a bit of a bop around!
The whole family went and were impressed with the technology - so easy to forget that it isn't the original group up there.
Can recommend for a family outing for all!
The sound quality is very poor
Enjoyed the visuals. They were lovely.
The sound however was awful. Couldn't hear the lyrics. there was no bass. It was muffled and really poor quality. Given that this venue was especially built for the show this was massively disappointing and spoilt the experience. The sound in the Abba Voyage shop on Pudding Mill Lans DLR station was far better quality.
Totally amazing
Totally amazing , I would recommend to all Abba fans out there !
Redefining Entertainment
Just experienced ABBA Voyage, and it was mind-blowing! This show completely redefines what a ‘live’ performance can be. It’s a thrilling fusion of technology and art that pushes the boundaries like never before. A must-see! And, as someone who isn’t even an ABBA fan, I was still thoroughly impressed by the entire experience.
Enjoyable but disappointing
Amazing images and projection, the animated film went on a bit too long but the most disappointing was the distortions in the sound.
Couldn’t hear the clarity of the lyrics and considering the technology involved, very disappointed—ruined the show.
Reply from their team after I complained (giving them exact seat numbers) came promptly but intimated that it could be my hearing! Exact wording from reply—‘’ factors such as age and specific medical conditions may influence how individuals perceive these levels on any given day’’—really? All 4 of us?
We have no medical conditions or hearing loss and know a good, clear, crisp sound from a sound track that should come from their state of the art equipment. I’m not going again!!
The Emperor's New Clothes
Abba Voyage is a total con, and I find it sad and amazing that not a single mainstream media reviewer has said so.
The "Abbatars" are simply a back projection on IMAX screens
So basically, you're watching movie clips of Gollum-style image capture against a green screen, punctuated by a good (but not great) tribute band.
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the show, and I'm glad I went. But the pricing is wholly inappropriate, and basically theft.
Out of this world!!!
Friendly staff,
Absolutely amazing experience.
Our of this world!!!
Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Could do better
I loved the fact I was with family and we were all up for a song and dance but the middle part of the show when the live group played and sang the sound was far too loud and actually I hadn’t paid to see any one else. The following songs with ABBA were also too loud/bass does none running the show notice how bad the sound was?
Looking forward to this for a long…
Looking forward to this for a long time, kept seeing the ads on TV so really exited. I came down to earth with an almighty crash. You pay the same price for a live performance and this felt like going to the cinema and a bad one at that. Abbatars felt like a joke, really bad Lara Croft type bodies with Botox filled old ABBA heads. Animation in between songs and members speeches made no sense. Very overpriced food and drink so eat before you go. Real cash cow for ABBA.
Incredibly expensive and shockingly…
Incredibly expensive and shockingly awful, the sound quality was awful and the avatars a joke.
