Very friendly and helpful!
First I was a skeptic because ACE was a bit outside the airport, but after I called them, they picked us up within minutes. The staff was very friendly. After we returned the car, the driver brought us to our hotel, which was about 5 minutes away from ACE. Great experience!

We travelled for 12 days in the South Island of NZ in an Ace Rental car. Everything from the online booking to returning the car was very easy. The staff were great and everything was smooth. The best thing was the price. Ace is a very budget-friendly rental service, in a competitive market, and is definitely worth checking out. I would advise booking as early as possible to lock in a really good rate. Will definitely book with Ace again in the future.

If you are looking for efficient, cost effective competent car rental, try these guys, they are excellent! Nothing was too difficult. I booked a mystery car and the lady who served me could not do enough to give me the best possible in both price and car. All the staff I came across from this company were friendly effective and efficient! Well done Ace, you deserve the 5 star rating I gave you!

Great value for money hiring a wildcard vehicle. The shuttle from the terminal was no problem, probably takes a little longer but the driver was very friendly and helpful, as was his colleague when we got to the site.
Will definitely use again if we return to New Zealand

We had a great experience renting from Ace Rental Cars from Auckland Airport. The pick up location was very professional and pleasant to use and the shuttle between to the terminals was efficient. The quality of the car was excellent and exactly what we ordered. Can recommend 100%.

Easy to book, collect and return. Using the bus services to and from collection point was easier that i thought.

I had a great experience picking up my rental car from Ace Rentals as the staff were friendly and very informative to make good decisions for myself. Even though, it was busy, I had my car within what felt like 5 minutes and what I was most impressed was returning the car to the yard whereby I did not even need to enter the office as the staff was on standby-like to confirm my details and take the keys. It was the easiest of transitions and with the convenient location for a local, I highly recommend this car rental company as being one of the most efficient car hire companies.

Good car rental price, good and friendly customer service.

Our experience with this company was tarnished by the lack of good communication. We had a rental agreement with them for a car to be picked up in Christchurch and dropped off in Auckland. At pick-up they informed us that we would have to leave the car at the ferry terminal in Picton and get a new one in Wellington for our trip up to Auckland. Not great, but OK. They emphasized that it was easy to do. But they did not mention that there are two terminals in Picton ; and we were using the one that they were not located at. They did not mention that we could just drop the car and leave the keys at our terminal. This was something we learned by chance at the site.
I’m mentioning all this because it was quite stressful at the time, with all our baggage (two large suitcases and more). Compared to just driving on board with our car, this wasn’t an ideal experience. In Wellington we had to look up a taxi (no stand at the terminal) and get over to the “right” terminal.
The ticket for the car on the ferry had been ordered months in advance and was non-refundable.
Their answer to my complaint was to say I was not one of their customers, but of the agent (third party) through whom I had ordered the car! And they had nothing to say about my experience, or that their website is misleading (“pick up in Christchurch and drop off in Auckland”, no mention of a swap in Wellington, that’s only under the FAQs).
All in all, not satisfactory! The money for the car ticket is not important. It’s the lack of “We’re sorry, we should have done better.”
Too bad, the cars were great and the staff friendly, but stress caused by bad communication is something I do not tolerate as a customer!
