Issues with My Recent Car Purchase from IAA
Last Friday, I bought a car from the company IAA. In the details and description of the car, they wrote “Run and Drive,” meaning that the car was supposed to have no issues. However, after a week of buying it, I showed it to a few mechanics, and all of them said the engine needs to be replaced. The car has a serious oil leak, and it was completely out of oil when I got it, which makes me think they might have deliberately drained it to hide the leak. The car is also emitting a lot of smoke, and all mechanics agree that the engine is beyond repair and needs to be replaced. I paid £3,600 for the car, but in the market, a similar car in the same condition could be found for around £1,000. If I add the £3,000 repair cost, it totals £6,600, which is far more than what I could have spent to buy a much better car in the market.

Watch out for their storage fees
Watch out for their storage fees, they will delay clearing payments so that your vehicle cannot be released for a couple of more days, they will then not have collection slots and will charge you another days storage when you collect the vehicle when they open, they will also misquote you and if you dont double check you will be left paying extra fees, they dont have phone numbers to speak to anyone, it has to be done via a website messanger service, the yards where the vehicles are stored are not owned by them, so they try to create as much storgage fees as possible.

Been dealing with Martyn on a couple of issues which he has resolved satisfactorily, however one point was raised which I think needs some consideration for the future.
I've been trying to track down a spare key from a car known to me, and physically handed in to Winsford by the bodyshop after the vehicle was written off on March 12th but the official response is that "Site have got back to me and advised "unfortunately the key cannot be located as they are disposed of after time." which is crazy, I recognise you must get 1000s of keys, but when they are hand delivered to the branch with V5 why can't the branch simply match them to the car they have at the depot, as a result it's another unnecessary expense !

High Pressure Vultures
Had the misfortune of our insurers contacting this company 3 weeks ago and been hounded by them ever since, chasing salvage of our car after an accident. After the first emails and phone calls from IAA, I replied to explain I was awaiting confirmation the third party accepted liability before able to release the vehicle. For the first couple of weeks, I kept repeating this to IAA every time they phoned, but to no avail so admittedly I gave up for the last week. Liability was finally accepted yesterday, so tried to call my insurer today to accept the settlement offer, decline the buy back and confirm the vehicle could be collected. What I thought was a call back from the insurers about the same, actually turned out to be them chasing me because IAA were chasing them because they were still ignoring the repeated updates, ie not content with harrassing phone calls and ignoring trivial things like facts, they now resorted to going via my insurer. How many people do they trick or bully into taking vehicles away before claims have even been resolved? This company makes ambulance chaser morals look good. I'm staggered by the positive reviews here, but notice there are two Trustpilot lisitings for iaai domains - this one, and another with a score of 1.2
