Excellent service

Bidwells Cambridge team has been excellent!
We were purchasing a flat and from the first viewing they were punctual (unlike many other agents in town) and had all the information about the property.
The subsequent 2 viewings were just as good. Punctual, friendly and the team members were extremely helpful.

Ollie and Izzie were amazing! Professional, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout! Way more supportive than our solicitors. Gave the most sound and accurate advice, communicated clearly and were always offering realistic time frames, always quick to respond to emails, WhatsApp, phone calls.  even when they were on annual  leave.
I trusted them  and valued everything they have done for us.

Just a nightmare..

Just a nightmare... They added a clause to the contract at our 2nd year, and we couldn't find out about it until needing to move out.(This was also a mistake to overlook that clause in the updated agreement, but the agent only told us about the rise of the rent and never told about an additional clause to the agreement.). During our stay in the house, they did very little to care and mend the property which had a rundown garden, dilapidated fences, one part of stove not working etc. Even from our first entrance to the property, they resisted directly asking for information to the landlord. We couldn't find our black bin until our 2nd week. For the garden, they blamed the contractor company that they didn't send the quotation for the repair work (which was probably a lie since the contractor company mentioned that they already sent the quotation, but got no response from Bidwells.). When we were moving out after 21 months, because of the additional clause that was added at the beginning of the 2nd year, they told that we are obliged to pay the rent and tax until a new tenant was found. Of course raising the rent from 1530(normally was 1500, but +30 because of our cat) to 1750 GBP didn't help for a rundown house that is located at the outskirts of the city! After a new tenant was found (Thank God), they didn't release the deposit for 13 days. The landlord was also awful, not responding to any of our and Bidwells' attempts to reach. They were not around for any of our help requests, but started asking for the rent after our moving out when we were unable to pay the rent at first (Since we had huge expenses - moved out of the country and were expecting a baby.) Anyway, there is nothing a tenant can do in the UK, as finding a good house and being able to pay are miraculous happenings nowadays. The landlords are really lords and the real estate agencies are their servants. And you, the tenant: you are just a peasant who is allowed to live on their lands thanks to their graciousness...

Edit: After receiving a request to delete or edit my comment, I remembered that Bidwells cut 670 GBP from my deposit, which is insane. According to them, checking the inventory, showing the house to new tenant candidates cost them 670 GBP! This is truly a robbery!
Yes, we have signed this contract, but that does not mean that it is a right, lawful or fair agreement which mandates us to pay the rent/tax even though we no longer live there. You have no choice but to agree with their conditions to leave the property.

We have discussed your comments with our lettings team and understand that you signed a fixed term tenancy extension but unexpectedly needed to break your contract early due to your personal circumstances. The landlord was amenable to you leaving early, on the basis you covered their costs, which were pre-agreed by you in writing before we proceeded with remarketing the property. These charges would not have been applicable if you had remained in the property until your fixed term tenancy ended however we understand moving is a busy and expensive period, so we are sorry if these costs came at a difficult time.

We are also sorry to hear you were disappointed with the way the landlord approached some maintenance issues during your tenancy, and the rent increase they requested at the review stage.

As a business we welcome all feedback, whether positive or negative, and will be sure to use this information for continuous improvements in the future.

Quick and Proactive

Bidwells showed me round the flat at 1pm on a Wednesday. By 3pm I indicated we were keen. James immediately called to get more details. Within 24 hours we were told we had the flat subject to references which were quick and easy and all online. All the time, James kept in contact and guided us through the process. The experience we received was excellent.

Best letting agent I have dealt with

I am once again very pleased with the professionalism of Bidwells. I had an excellent rental experience with them in the past, and am delighted to be renting with them again.

Expertise and creativity

Really professional customer centric service. They managed a challenging purchase chain with creativity, perseverance, humour and expertise. Obstacles were overcome through a range of solutions and approaches. Through out the process the communication was excellent.

Deals through back door

Been chasing a property for more than 6 months. everytime I called or mailed. reply i get is agent not available or we will get back when viewing commence. later advertise as under offer. seems like deal went through back door without exploring all the options available. very poor customer interaction. Frustration is building hopes and wasting time with doggy people.
I would give less than a star...

Rob Couch and Bidwells.

Rob is an old friend of mine so I may be somewhat biased. However, I have found that both Rob and Bidwells went well beyond the call of duty to effect the sale of my house in the Hemingfords. For example, the grass was overgrown (I live in the Far East); Rob didn't hesitate to go round and cut the grass at 9am on a Saturday morning!

Bidwells and Ollie Rivers a great team

Bidwells and especially Ollie Rivers did a great job of selling my flat. Ollie was realistic and professional in price setting and effective in marketing and I had a successful offer within days at the asking price. Leasehold properties are taking a while to sell now and Ollie was there throughout offering good advice - many thanks Ollie! I would certainly use this team again.

Success where others failed

Ollie Rivers acted on our behalf throughout the long process to sell our home. He was always prompt to respond in any communication about the sale, providing sound professional advice and reassurance when required. He was very supportive throughout and his expertise successfully brought the sale to its completion.

Bidwells Cambridge Estate Agent

The sale of our property was very complicated due to Deeds of Variation to change our lease and having to deal with our Estate Management Company, their solicitors, plus Landlord solicitors and finally, our buyers solicitors. Time taken to reach decisions was,
to put it politely, a painful and long drawn out procedure...10 months to be precise.
We were extremely fortunate to have Ollie Rivers from Bidwells to negotiate us through the minefield. Without his help and enormous input we are convinced that our sale would have failed. We have bought and sold a number of houses in the 40 years and without doubt, Ollie has been the best agent we have ever dealt with, very highly recommended along with his colleagues at Bidwells.

One of the worst estate agents around…

One of the worst estate agents around Cambridge.We try to rent commercial property second time with them.First time they wrote us "this place not for use a cafe" but after a month some one open a cafe in a same place. Second time we show interest for another place and they keep us more than a month and at the end they wrote us "this place now under offer".Never work again with Bidwells.
