Like many other reviewers on here i sent my Macbook Air to Boss Macs based on the quote I received from Andy. That was the 9th July, and I still don’t have payment for my device(which has most likely already been sold)!

While Andy has responded to my emails with promises to review the device nothing ever happens and still no payment.

We’ve had an awful experience with this company and have reached no choice but to move to small claims stage. Please do not sell to Boss Macs; this is a not a legitimate or honest company. The business model seems to be to buy second-hand Apple phones/tablets/latops, via a professional website and delay payment until customers either give up or take legal action. On the other side, sales seem well-executed, generating positive reviews and the illusion of a trustworthy business. Although given the conduct, I would not recommend buying from Boss Macs as I doubt the guarantee is worth much.

The owner of Boss Macs, offered £1,400 for our high-spec Macbook Pro. He arranged DPD collection on 12/6/26 and payment was due to be made in 2-10 days per his website terms. It has now been 97 days since collection and I have chased this payment 16 times, via email, over a 3 month period.

Nearly every time I receive an obsequious apology email with various excuses. The first excuses were sensitive (the death of the buyer’s father coupled with caring responsibilities for his mother) so I was sympathetic and left it 4 weeks before chasing again. The rest of the excuses have been so preposterous that it is questionable whether any are true. Either that or his online banking systems / cash flow are akin to something from 1970 – e.g. no payment can be made without a processing time of several days.

It is clear the business is very active from its eBay shop and thousands of pounds are received weekly. Interestingly, the 2025 statutory accounts show creditors as equal value to his stocks/cash - which shows it is likely payments are always delayed to customers.

I have held off on this review as I did believe from other reviews that payment would eventually be received but I have now submitted a small claim. I am disgusted and furious that, not only has this payment not been made, but I have had to waste so much time on this. Honestly, the worst experience I’ve ever had online – and a huge financial loss to date.

I've had a terrible experience with Boss Macs. It's clear that he's been having issues that have effected his ability to run his business since the begining of the year. And yet he's accepted new macs all year. Like others here, I've been waiting for four months for payment. I've had half a dozen emails assuring me that he will process payment, but nothing.
It's terrible that he's had personal tragedies, but he really should have closed shop. As it stands I've had to alter big life events due to his failure to fulfill his promise.

Sold my MacBook to Boss Macs in early July. It was received, inspected, and confirmed as accepted, but payment never followed despite repeated follow-ups over several weeks. After months without resolution, I had to file a County Court claim. Communication throughout was sporadic and repeatedly missed its own deadlines. Would not recommend without extreme caution.

Sent my MacBook Air M2 at beginning of June and agreed a price quite quickly. They got back to me on 26th of June to apologise for any delays which were due to a bereavement. It's now 13th September and nothing. They've got my Mac and given the increases in Ram costs making a huge profit. Seller beware, do not use this company. I would strongly suggest that trading standards investigate this crook.

Sent my apple imac to Andy back in July who emailed on the 12th July to say he had received it and would send payment within 10 days. Still yet to receive. Has not responded to multiple emails including final demand email and letter so I have now escalated to small claims court. I have two small children to feed and I want my rightful money paid to me!

Avoid this company at all costs.

This company has had my laptop since 22 June and I am still awaiting payment. I have repeatedly chased, to be told he will be back in the business and prioritising getting my payment sent across but this never happens. Absolutely appalling service, I would not recommend in selling your laptop.
I’ve now been forced to take this to small claims court, as I have given ample opportunity to make the payment and even gave the option of sending my laptop back, which was never acknowledged so more than likely it’s already been sold!

The Mac works fine for everyday use, but the battery doesn't last as long as I expected. Still usable for what I need.

“Sold” my MacBook to Andy on July 20th to which I was contacted three days later to confirm it had been received. It has now been 25 days since the 10-day payment deadline advertised on his website has passed, making it 35 days overall since I “sold” my MacBook to him with no payment. In this time, I have contacted him several times regarding payment to which I have been met the same day with personal issues and empty promises of being “top priority” - typically with him promising to return to work the following week and obviously nothing happening. I then gave Andy a 14-day deadline on August 4th before I would be taking necessary action which has long passed with no contact. After re-visiting here and reading other reviews, then matching serial numbers I learned that Andy sold my MacBook two days after receiving it, while I have not been paid to this day. I will now be taking the correct steps of legal action against Andy and the Boss Macs company. Take this as a lesson - settle with a lower price as Andy will take any opportunity NOT to pay you what he owes.

UPDATE: It is now September 3rd and I have been paid. Knowing the information I do now, I would not choose to sell my MacBook with Andy in the future due to the circumstances of me waiting. However, I am grateful I was still paid in the end. Whether you choose Andy or not is entirely dependent on how willing you are to wait.

I sent my Mac Studio to Boss Macs which was collected from me on 20th July they received it on the 21st so with their terms of 10 d ays to pay should have been paid 4th August. Andy promised payment on a number of occasions but has not paid. Now does not answer emails so I am going to make a claim against him in court. Court papers being filed tomorrow let’s see how he likes the fees etc.

I would strongly advise against dealing with this company you might be offered slightly more but when or if you will be paid is anyone’s guess.

Sold my MacBook to Andy on 7 July, was advised that it was received on 14th of July via email and would need to under go testing, i’d had no updates, so chased via email, I was advised on the 24th july that the machine was still undergoing testing, and I would receive a further update once it was complete.

What I can see is my machine was sold on the Boss Macs eBay store on 13 July.

I have invoices showing AppleCare payments and original sales invoices that match the serial number of the unit sold based on the advert and the review left buy the buyer on ebay.

It’s currently 9 August, and I’m still awaiting payment. If theres no action with 7 days ill be taking this further and highlighting to the relevant channels.

Ordered a MacBook Air for my wife from Bossmacs on Ebay and had a great experience overall - very accurate description with many photos to show the item conditions. The Mac was practically new and was dispatched immediately (received it next day) perfectly packaged. Highly recommend the seller, who reached out after I received the item to check all was ok.

I bought a MacBook Air from Bossmacs on eBay, listed as being in excellent condition. When it arrived, I was genuinely impressed. The laptop was in pristine condition—I couldn’t find a single mark or anything that looked out of place.

The shipping was incredible too. It was delivered the very next morning, which made for a great start to the day. Overall, an excellent buying experience, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this seller.

Having received my Macbook Pro over 3 months ago, Boss Macs have failed to make payment to me. I have chased this 6 times, some of my emails were ignored, and others were responded to with promises that my payment would be prioritised/dealt with as a matter of urgency etc.
Despite providing Boss Macs with a final deadline and informing them that the next step would be legal action, they have still failed to make payment to me. I have now filed a case with the small claims court.

Whilst I appreciate that the owner has had some personal difficulties, I fail to understand why some customers over the past 3 months seem to have been paid while others are ignored. Having been made redundant, I have been relying on payment being made to help during this period which has added additional stress to an already difficult time. I could not possibly recommend this company and would advise anyone selling to accept a slightly lower quote from another company for the peace of mind.

Bought a refurbed MacBook Air. Had slight dent underneath as advertised. Nothing serious purely cosmetic. Price was good. Arrived sooner than expected. Would recommend. Will use again.

Bought a new Macbook Pro from Bossmacs via eBay, promptly delivered and everything as advertised.

Fast and efficient delivery. My macbook was advertised as excellent condition - When it arrived my expectations were exceeded, conditions it was as if the device was completely brand new .I am incredibly impressed this was a great buy..

Let this be a warning to all - he continues to argue with me on here now after I’ve asked him to leave me and has flagged it for defamatory content, despite him agreeing in an email it was accurate! Solicitors letter pending!!

Further update: 6 emails and a phone call all pressuring me to remove the review for some compensation. I stated he needed to stop pressuring me and he continued to pressure me. I’ve gone from sympathetic to genuinely feeling this can’t be a genuine businessman behaving like this.

Update; having written this last night I have woken up this morning to the best news - payment received in full, for the original quote. He’s taken the hit for the damage in transit he reported to me as he didn’t claim from dpd. I am still unsure of whether the issues were genuine - my heart says yes but my natural instinct is to trust and I tend to need others to tell me when someone is being dishonest, as happened this time. All I can say for sure is the money has been received in full, so I wanted to update to reflect that.

Like others on here I’ve had a terrible experience. I accepted a quote for 1200 and sent in my MacBook. On arrival he said it was damaged yet has so far failed to claim from the courier for the damage in transit. I’ve been more than patient with reason after reason given for none payment, but I finally reached my limit last week and issued a 7 day warning letter, something I’ve never even considered doing before with any company, big or small. That deadline passes tomorrow morning and still nothing so I have now had a letter before action drafted ready to send tomorrow. Then like others it will have to be county court route. I am disabled, and I needed this money for adaptations. I am also autistic and feel very sad that this trusting nature it brings has been taken advantage of so badly. I’m feeling incredibly distressed by it all.

Due to challenges, BossMacs made up for the delay, was really happy with the end result.
