Poor customer response and service

I saw their advertisement for discounts on glasses and being a first time customer booked an appointment at their Purley (near Croydon) store.

Despite their website stating that a voucher with QR code will come very quickly to my email, no such QR code reached my email. Since the website was not clear about how much I have to pay for the eye examination, in case I do not want to buy any glasses from them, I thought I should call them up. Then I called the Purley store on the store number provided on the website (ending in 3195), but despite hanging online for about 28 minutes with useless music, no one answered the phone. Then I decided to cancel the appointment, but to my surprise, the option provided was only to reschedule. Anyway, I sent them an email now as a reply to the appointment email. I felt that their customer service is rather poor and their advertisements do not match the service provided.

Impressed

I was really, really happy with my visit to the Brillen Horley branch.
The pace was calm, welcoming and peaceful. Much unlike other high street chains which are heaving and conveyor belt like. The set up is less cluttered, more minimalist than other high street stores. That said, Brillen had a good selection of frames, albeit fewer than some of those other high street stores (but for me that's a blessing as I tire of looking at repeats all basically made by the same company who stamp an alternative brand name on). Brillen also had plenty of lens add on options to choose from.
The online eye test I preferred entirely. You get accompanied to the exam room and set up exactly as I have done elsewhere. You have an eye test with the same equipment...just the person is not stood beside you and are online. I preferred this so much - it felt easier to just be objective.
I would (and am) recommending to friends and family.

Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs - they are advertising prices and then not abiding by them because of what a member of staff in the Coventry city centre store called the “very small print”. After hearing another customer complaining about this, I then heard the same member of staff telling another lady (calling in the collect her x2 pairs of glasses) that the price had gone up and that although she’d been given a price and ordered on that basis, she couldn’t have both pairs unless she paid more money. I had my sight test but after everything I heard left the store - I was just too uncomfortable. I will be having an eye test and buying my new glasses from a more reputable, honest and clear company.

Purley store - missing order 😩

I visited the Purley store on 13th January and ordered new varifocals. Lovely polite friendly staff BUT I am still waiting for my glasses to be available and it’s a month later. Disappointed! Update:- staff chased order and I received them on 16th. Very pleased with them and excellent value. Thanks to Purley store staff for sorting it out!

Access into the Brillen store in Purley

I had an appointment at 12:30pm at the Purley branch today but when I got there I couldn't enter the store because I am a wheelchair user and there is a step at entrance. I explained this to a staff member at the store. He said to me we don't have facilities for wheelchair users and was not willing to help me into the store. So because I couldn't enter the store I lose out on the Brillen offers.☹️

Great glasses from Brillen, Coventry

The new store in Coventry City centre is ideally located for everyone. The staff are friendly and the whole process is so easy. This was the 2nd time I had bought from Brillen in the last 2 years and each pair have been the best fitting glasses I have ever worn. You can buy basic glasses at a good price or go for better quality at prices that are stilll very reasonable. They have glasses to suit all budgets
I will be recommending their new shop to all my family and friends

Good frames selection

Good frames selection, good price, with insurance. Told lady what budget I had and she made sure I got the best bang for my buck. Happy with all procedures and most of all I didn't get pressured to get this and that like boots and specs avers. I normally have anxiety going to opticians but this was overall a good experience and I will use in future.

Brillen-iant service at Brillen Bradford !

Brillen, Bradford may look like your average optician, but it’s far from ordinary !
The set up is unique, and the manager, Saleem, is awesome. It’s rare to find someone of his outstanding inter-personal skills and obvious business ability in this day and age. It was also a huge relief to find someone who really listened to me, and my requirements.
He was very clear and pleasant when explaining the various options without being condescending. He ensured I left with the perfect pair of glasses for both my face shape and my wallet ! I was very impressed.

Brilliant shopping at Brillen

Two weeks ago I ordered a pair of varifocal and my wife ordered two pair of single vision (one with photo sun) glasses. As expected it was another nice and smooth experience overall. Having a free eye health check up and vision testing with experienced optometrist was an additional bonus. Customer service was at its best. Mahnoor was decent, courteous polite and efficient. She explained different available options and helped us to choose the best product for us. Although there were many customers in the store but she was able to handle every one extremely well and never let us feel that we are ignored. At the time of order collection she called us to confirm the best time and managed to get everything sorted in a limited time. Optometrist was very professional and knowledgeable, he did eye health check up and provided advices on maintaining the eye health. Last but not the least, brillen store was clean and spacious with a very convenient location. I am really happy with my experience with brillen and would love to recommend for everyone who are looking for the best deals in the best place with the best services.

Brilliant Service Delivery

Following a short illness I needed a re test to ensure I can drive safely again. I booked the Test at the Coventry branch where I was treated with the upmost respect and underwent a thorough test again by the optician, who was extremely professional like the shop staff and reassurance was given, the shop is so easy to find by the Coventry Market Corridor and looks the part You will be met with a smile from Kelly the Store Manager. Give them a go, Price wise. Excellent

Absolutely brilliant

Absolutely brilliant. This is the second consecutive pair of glasses bought from Brillen. The service is excellent and Somood is so friendly and professional and courteous. The glasses fit perfectly and I can see really clearly without any issues, which is so good with varifocals.

10/10 for the experience and service

where do I start found brillen on Facebook and I usually ignore these ad's on Facebook but I was treated badly at vision express and swore I would never go back ..
so I saw brillen.co.uk and thought these are great prices and gave it a go today 2nd February 2023
so I went to Brillen Chatham Kent and was meet by Chris..I signed in and waited Chris came over and took my glasses to measure after that I had my eye test wow this was cool all remote and was done in half the time as vision express no more horrible glasses to put on they had a big machine which did everything and the eye test was good
after the test Chris was so helpful and I went with verifocals which I were anyway and he advised and to be honest the whole price was £225 with the best lenses and transitions too ..no need to upsell as it was a fix price even with the extra's ( you did have to pay £70 more for the very thin lenses but not worth it as they can be heavy)...the election of frames were not bad and found the 1 I wanted with the help from Chris ..he went over everything and said the glasses should be ready in 2 weeks max ..I paid for half of the glasses and when I pick them up I will pay for the other half ..
Guys please dont be scared of the Facebook ad for brillen they are everything they say they are just cant wait to pick up my new glasses and please tell Chriss to keep up the good work ..he had patience ,empathy and was very good to the other customers in the Chatham store ..I am now going to get my whole family to go there and good bye vision express for good
