I applied for a position through Brook Street, and a lady called Colleen worked tirelessly for me. I was offered the position and with an increase in pay. This was down to Colleen pushing my experience. I was very impressed with the agency.

All I need is an update on a start date, 4 emails, 3/4 voicemails and still no responses. Agree with previous person complaining, Russian roulette with peoples lives. So disappointing, this agency is suppose to be supporting Boarder Control/HMRC, where is their compassion, commitment or communication?

If you ask a question to those you have contact details, one is made to feel as if a criminal.
No one seems to realise they are playing Russian roulette, finance wise. People wouldn't be asking for updates if didn't need to work and earn monies to pay rent etc.

Really bad agency , arranged phone interview date and time , rang on wrong date and wrong time , told me they just needed 5 mins to check something and would call back , 45 mins still no call back , this company definitely deserves its reputation, avoid at all costs

I worked with them for a couple of months, when I was first approached about the position and interviewed in February this year, I was told via email (which I still have) that I would be paid £11.70 per hour. Once I started, I noticed my first payslip stated I was on £10.42 an hour. When I finally got through to someone (after about 5 emails and 8 unanswered phone calls) they simply said 'oh, we accidentally advertised it at London rate, we can't amend it or pay you at that rate, sorry'. Then whilst waiting on my final pay to come through, I was advised my holiday pay would be paid the same date, which it wasn't because of a technicality which meant I would have accrued a few more hours so they had to pay it the following week. Fat lot of good that did, I ended up getting less holiday pay due to tax and national insurance and student loan, and it meant I was a week late paying my bills because they "promised" I would get it the week before and then didn't tell me until AFTER that I wouldn't.
As well as the above issue, it took so long to get me started, getting the checks done. The representative who was in communication with me was constantly on annual leave and when she still needed one of my documents she left her colleague to deal with it and apart from one email he did absolutely nothing to help reassure me, then when she came back she said 'I understand my colleague has been in touch with you quite a bit over the past few days' to which I confirmed he emailed once and that was it.
My last issue is that in the 10 and a half weeks I was employed by them, I had one phone call from a different lady who called up to see how I was getting on. I was told I would have regular check ins to see how I was doing. And when my role came to an end and I told them I had been bullied by another member of staff, I was simply told 'you should have told us sooner, we can't really do anything about it now you no longer work there' well maybe if you checked in with your contractors as often as you say you will instead of being on annual leave every other week I would have told you then!!

I've worked for Brook Street for a while and, while they can be difficult to get hold of and they can take a while to complete actions, I'm starting to understand that it really depends on who is dealing with you. On this occasion, it was Anisha K, and she was great! You really could not ask for better. She does the company proud. Couldn't recommend more highly :)

If I could rate 0 I would.
Left me unemployed due to poaching me via LinkedIn asking me to work for them.
Had stage 1 and stage 2 interviews.
Got the job.
Left my workplace.
Signed the contract.
They then retracted the offer ‘due to wrong head count’
The most unprofessional company I have ever come across…
I then got ignored by them after they told me the news.

I have worked through BrookStreet Birmingham, I can say the customer service they provide is excellent. They responsed to the email very quick and problem solve any issues I am having at the work place. Birmingham staff are very professional and geniune caring people. I am very pleased with service they have provided with me so far. I will continue use to there service.

I was looking for a change of career and my daughter had already worked with Brook Street, Bradford; so they came highly recommended.
Clare, Ella-Mae and Sam were my consultants. Clare was my first contact and Ella-Mae took me through my interview and registration. Sam found me my job and dealt with all the admin ! All three were professional, efficient, friendly and approachable. A great team! :)
The compliance team were also efficient and helpful.
Sam secured me an outstanding placement within days of me becoming available for work. The placement was 100% ideal for me. Three weeks in, and it is still the perfect role. Thank you so much, all of you!
By the way, my daughter also recommended Brook Street, Bradford to some of her friends as well. They were also secured within roles they were happy with, within days too.

Brook Street's service was disappointing. After collecting my information, they caused confusion and inconvenience. I can't recommend this recruitment agency due to my unsatisfactory experience.

Not willing to help you find a role you are happy with/want. Only willing to put you in for jobs/interviews they need to fill with little thought to what you have asked to me for. Poor customer service

Unsolicited texts harassing me to click links for job adverts. Asked them to remove my details under GDPR regulations (UK Law) and they continued to send messages, hence leaving this review.

Absolute gross incompetence. my pay has been "corrected" 12 times in 14 months, have had pay delayed 3 times in 24 months. communication is terrible and every email i send is replied with a "I'm on annual leave" automatic reply. usually not a red flag unless the dates included in the reply are say 25th-29th and you get this email the 22nd or 5th of the next month. happens all the time.
my colleagues and wife call this company by "Crook Street" if that's any indication of my experience so far.

An agency that is just there to fill their own bellies and don't have any value for the people working under them. I worked for them for over a year and the amount of issues faced is very concerning. Worst thing is, they have government contracts and so they think they are invincible. They are supposed to be supportive to the employees but instead all they care about is hurting their cash cow i.e. the employers. In short I'm done with them and best for everyone to avoid if you can help it! Employers...... You don't want to work with these people!!!

I’ve honestly never worked or met someone so unprofessional as the consultant who “helped” me in Brookstreet, I will not name them as I’m sure they know themselves (or she will pretend she doesn’t know who I am like she done on the phone) At the start of my employment via brookstreet it was a breeze and I really did enjoy it and said consultant was lovely to me but as the weeks passed I started to notice my wage was less than what it was meant to be (granted it might’ve only been 10/15 pound) when I enquired with her I was met with short rude comments making me feel horrible and embarrassed that I had even rang to begin with fast forward to the end of my time with Brookstreet when granted I had made a mistake on my time sheet (I had never had a permanent job before that was not through agency so I wasn’t aware of the processes) and instead of explaining my mistake to me and trying to fix it on the phone with me the consultant congratulated me on my job ended the call with me and went straight to my line manager to try and throw me under the bus , even to this day I wonder why she done that when I had bit my tongue and had been nothing but nice to her the whole time I was with them. When I became permanent I was going to write a review similar to this but decided to leave it as I figured what was the point ? But now having been ignored a few times in relation to referrals for family/friends (we received emails and texts messages constantly to “refer a friend”) and finally working up the courage to ring to enquire about back pay I just got met with with short rude comments once again for absolutely no reason just for her to eventually answer my simple question? personally I wouldn’t be rude to an ex employee who did nothing but work hard and gave you no real big issues to deal with, all because I wanted to enquire about back pay that I could potentially be owed from March 2022 (between March 2022 until October 2022) !! I can’t speak for the rest of brookstreet as I only really communicated with one specific consultant and if I was her I’d be VERY embarrassed that someone so much younger than you has far better manners, very unprofessional in my opinion!
