In November of 2023 I visited Cellys hair dressers in Gravesend as they are open on a Sunday. My hair was desparate for a colour and trim. The guy who I assumed was the boss came over and looked at my hair and then gave me a quote of £175!! I looked at him and said are you joking? he then said thats the price, but I said no its too expensive as I have never in my life paid that amount of money for my hair. He then said £120. Even this amount was far too high, but because I was so desparate to get my hair done I reluctantly agreed. He then went to mix up the colour and started putting foils in my hair. When the colour was rinsed off, he said I needed a toner which stung my scalp. Instead of him rinsing it off straightaway, he said, dont worry the stinging will stop soon. Then he did a fairly decent cut and blow dry. I left there £120 out of pocket. I have since gone to Cellys in Bexleyheath where I have been going for many years and told them what I paid and they were horrified and said I had been "robbed". I will never visit the Gravesend one again and urge others not to either. It clearly states on the door how much each treatment is. At the Bexleyheath one, I paid £59 for two colours and cut and blow dry. I felt at Gravesend that they probably thought a middle aged English woman would be a bit of a walk over and all they did was speak in their own language which is RUDE! I was totally ripped off and robbed. Maybe he thinks hes Vidal Sassoon! Never again! I hope they go bust.

Another visit to the Bexkeyheath branch and another fantastic cut by Jaye. Every time she has listened to what I wanted and always delivered.....helping me grow out my coloured hair to natural grey. Cuts are always perfect. Highly recommend.

An amazing team of hard working girls.. They should be rewarded for what they do.... Especially Emma..
Wouldn't go anywhere else..

Katie @ the Exeter branch did a fantastic job today! Not only did she seem very professional and thorough with dying and cutting my hair, but she also was great to talk to and I felt understood and cared for as a customer and human being overall. The end result looked amazing and I cannot recommend her services highly enough!

I had a full head of highlights colour cut and blow dry. I am so pleased with the results !! Excellent customer service and came away feeling a fabulous ! Thanks so much .

Recently I have visited salon with my daughter. It was first time visit for her in the salon so she was a bit nervous but Iwona make the appointment much more pleasant and my daughter hair was amazing. She was very pleased.

I went to the Weston Road Brighton branch. It was a very bad haircut. The male hairdresser's hands were shaking while cutting, he took ages before each cut and kept changing his mind and brushing again. He told me he had worked there for 2 years. When I got home and saw the total mess he had made of my hair, I emailed the company on the contact page. I have emailed several times asking for someone to call me to discuss it. There was no working phone
number. Nobody has got back to me. I know its cheap but I expect a good basic haircut. Customer Service is non existent. Do not risk this company who have disregard for customers. Candida, Brighton

Went in to the Hemel Hempstead branch and the lovely hairdresser called Maya served me. I had the root package and some highlights done . I was very happy with the results and she was very patient with me when cutting my fringe cutting a small bit at a time so I had the correct length that I wanted. Hopefully she will still be there when I come back again.

Went to go in and get my hair cut m, but didn’t go in because sitting in one of the chairs was a customers getting her hair done vaping away, didn’t think you was allowed to vap in side any more and also I have lung cancer so I do want to come in, I don’t think it’s very professional for you to aloud people to vap when your in a close environment with other customers around

The last time I went to Cellys, I had my hair washed and trimmed. No problem at that stage.
I became ill, I'm a diabetic, and started to to have a hypo. Me sensor alarm went off, to notify my sugar level was drop.
The hairdresser noticed I was having problems, and she helped me.
But I was still struggling to raise my sugar level.
I went to the front desk, and explained to the gentleman that I was having a medical emergency, he didn't even put his phone down, he turned to the assistant and becken her to come to the desk. He carried on talking on the phone, but luckily the assistant who helped me before, saw I was still struggling with getting my sugar level back to normal, came back over to help me.
After a while I was back to normal sugar level, and my son arrived to help me out.
So if you have a medical emergency, do not ask the gentleman at the front desk, just get a assistant to help you!

Fantastic as always! Mia did an amazing job on my hair! And as an added bonus I got the VIP treatment of a trukish head massage from Ali. Thanks all, very grateful for your amazing customer service and my fantastic hair cut!

I, had my hair cut and highlighted by Paige at Taunton this morning and am delighted with the result, excellent customer service as well

Went to Cellys and within minutes was having my haircut, explained to the hairdresser Zaza what I wanted and he did a brilliant job. I was very satisfied with my haircut and the professional way I was dealt with by staff.

nothing went well, my boyfriend showed the man a picture of what he wanted and they did the exact opposite!! he asked for a grade 3 on the back and sides and the man didn’t even know what that meant. he didn’t take anything off the back and sides or around his ears where it is quite annoying to him and cut 80% of his fringe off and thinned it out completely. never go here.

Had my hair done in Exeter today. By Kate. She’s just brilliant always get a great cut by her. She was lovely made me a coffee & I even got a biscuit 😁. Wouldn’t get my hair done any where else always come away happy great job Kate. 🥰

What went right?!!!
Everything I’d asked the hairdresser to do she did the opposite.
I’d specifically asked for her not to ‘chop’ into my hair which she did ,I asked for a diagonal straight line to achieve a simple classic bob,which I didn’t get. I even showed previous photos on my iPhone of what I wanted.
It was a very hot day & I’d explained I didn’t want a blow dry either as I normally let it dry naturally,however she persisted saying she could do a better cut.
As she she was chopping into it & it was getting shorter & shorter I was so distraught, stupidly I didn’t say anything at the time ( mortified) & even gave her a tip, I think she persisted on blow drying it for the extra money, had she listened & concentrated on what I’d asked for I’d of given her a decent tip instead of a blow dry I didn’t want. I left feeling humiliated & anxious to get back home to wash it out & comb it through to see how much hair I was left with, scissor happy indeed.
It’s taken months for it to grow back to where it was.
I’ll never go back again as I had been a regular customer although took a chance every time going there as to wether I’d get what I’d asked for & end coming home cutting any missed strands of hair myself.
I’m now in a situation where rather than risking the same thing happening again, I’m avoiding having it cut at all for now,as it’s not worth the stress I’ve been through.Bad experience altogether,definitely the last time with Celly’s Exeter.

My hair was cut, rough dried and straightened by floretta today. She was amazing, very friendly and talked me through every step she was going to do. Coffee was lovely too!! So happy with my new inverted bob and cannot rate this salon highly enough, plus such good value for money! Eastbourne branch
