Extremely Disappointed with Comdata - Unresolved Fraudulent Transactions and Terrible Customer Service

I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience using Comdata’s Fintwist Payroll Card, and I feel compelled to share my story in hopes of warning others about the lack of transparency and poor customer service.

I was an election candidate during the most recent campaign, and I received a direct deposit onto my Comdata Fintwist payroll card on October 31st. On November 2nd, while I was campaigning at an early voting center, I received notifications of several unauthorized transactions totaling $1,300 on my card. Naturally, I was distressed and immediately called Comdata’s customer service.

The first issue arose when I was asked for my card number, which I did not have at the moment. In the midst of a stressful situation, I struggled to recall the number, but eventually managed to provide it. I also filed a police report, reporting the card as stolen.

Customer service advised me that I would need to wait 7 days for the transaction to process before I could file a dispute, which I did on November 11th. At this point, I was told I would need to wait an additional 10 business days for an investigation to be conducted before any refund could be issued. This extended delay was already troubling.

On November 23rd, I followed up with Comdata, and was told to call back on November 25th. When I called this morning, I was informed that my dispute had been denied and that an email with details had been sent. However, I never received any email or notification of this decision. When I inquired about contacting the fraud department directly, I was told they did not have a phone number and could only be reached via email. I was informed that they would submit a request for the email to be "resent," but at this point, I am left with no clear answers.

This entire experience has been an enormous source of frustration. I feel like I am being ignored, and the lack of proper communication and accountability is deeply concerning. As a working individual, this money is critical to my survival, and Comdata’s failure to handle my claim with the urgency it deserves is both unprofessional and unacceptable.

Given the lack of resolution and the poor handling of this situation, I would strongly advise others to think twice before using Comdata’s services. I am determined to continue pursuing this matter, as I need my funds returned, but I am thoroughly disappointed by how this has been managed.

If you are considering Comdata as a financial service provider, I suggest exploring other options. Based on my experience, I would not trust them to protect my money or provide adequate customer support.

Worst customer service EVER!!!!

I wrote a check to my pilot car for the wrong amount. I called Comdata and they asked to verify my identity to transfer to a new check by giving them a landline phone number to call. I do not have a landline I can use. Nobody does! This is stealing money! Would avoid using these scammers at all cost.

Terrible company

If I could I would give this company zero stars. I called to get a replacement card 2 weeks ago and still have not received it. In addition, I had an unauthorized charge to dispute also still has not been reversed or even updated me. The customer service is abysmal, of the roughly 10 representatives that I spoke to throughout this unnecessary long process 2 were competent. Of the 8 reps who were awful none of them asked for my ticket number. Even when I asked why won't you ask for my ticket number so can you can help me. They would not. This is awful, this company should not exist let alone handle people's money. Go the other way!!!!

They trying to take my money I had a cancel transaction that was returned to my card 20 days ago they refused to put the money back. The supervisor finally told me I need to have the merchant file a claim for my money to go back to my back. We all can’t be sitting here getting screwed by them we need to open a lawsuit against them Sue them out of business.

I will give this group a 1 because have it set up activation of a combats card. Have had the card for over a month with no activation pin and all you talk to is a computer and can not enter the reference number to get any where so there com data can shove their card up their ass and keep if you cannot do the job in person then you don’t deserve to have a company like. Still can’t get an activation pin and have almost $70.00 on it so there fore I call that theft of services and I will be looking to file a multi million dollar law suit since you can’t get your job done right then you don’t deserve to be in buisness

Nothing designed for the poor or otherwise working class works well

Octapharma Plasma uses these fools to deposit plasma donation funds on 2 times a week.

Cant use card for gas at pump.

Can't check balance online

Many merchants won't take card.

One overarching thing for the people who have this card is none of us are wealthy. We are working class. Either donating plasma for gas money or working in service work where are peanuts pay goes on a comdata card. Nothing designed for us ever works well. Then the companies we are forced to rely on hire a poor joe like us to respond to all the criticism they get so the company is completely insulated.

Criminals

Criminals, they steal your money!!! NEW OWNER OPERATORS, STAY AWAY!! They are in it for themselves, not for you. I use TAFS as a factoring company, they suck too, tafs use comdata for payment.. don’t use either!! They all are scammers and should be out of business.. do not use these people, for you own good!! I am an owner operator and stuck in a contract for 6more months. I will not be doing any business until the 6mo is up.. their contract is for 12months.. find a non recourse factoring company with no contract or a month to month contact. If a broker doesn’t pay, they come after you instead of the Broker. DO NOT USE THEM, i wish i would’ve read the reviews beforehand

Run Run Run

Run! This company refuses to transfer funds, refuses to do direct deposit, is almost impossible to reach on the phone, and when you do they act as if letting you access your money is a favor. Terrible terrible service. I did not choose this company as a payroll option. I was forced by the company I worked for. Nothing but terrible from day one. Fought to get my money into my personal bank to pay my bills for 2 months. As soon as I was able, I emptied my account via ATM. Now I have like 32 dollars in there and they've won't let me access it. Very sketchy company. They are one of the reasons I quit the company I was working for. It's MY money not yours comdata! Run Run Run. And watch out. Lots of people on BBB saying they let their money get stolen off the card. Takes an act of congress for them to resolve it too.

Not a good fuel option

When I was transitioning from leased owner operator to being under my own authority I thought condata would be a good option since that is what I was using with the company I was leased on with. It was not a good experience at all. From getting payments through, and them even shutting down my card because they hit my account to early. Never again. I found a much better option in my opinion.

You people are really funny how you I have a job through a company that forces you to take your card but guess what I'm not taking it I will starve first. But I'll tell you what I am going to do. I'm going to turn you into the federal government and then it can file yet another charge against you to go along with the hundred other charges from the Federal trade commission. I'm going to let the company that I work for get so far behind on wages that I will turn them in to the federal labor board your company is crooked and you are dirt. Wish I can give 0 stars. I have a Fintwist card that used by a family member without permission and contacted the merchant before contacting COMDATA. The merchant attempted to refund all transactions. Keyword ATTEMPTED. Issue? COMDATA didn’t allow the refund to go through and stated it was sent back to the merchant. LIES. The merchant deliberately stated the refund was issued and that the “bank” COMDATA had to refund the credit. This situation occured from 2/20/24 - now. As many reps as I spoke to just for them give me different answers. Contact the merchant again and ask the merchant to resend it as credit, wait for the new card, The refund was declined, the refund is at a stand still. Even put in a dispute stating credit not received. Instead of giving me my refund that they know belongs to me. They sent me an email stating they need information about my refund and why am i receiving a refund. It’s none of COMDATAS business to why i’m getting a refund. That is between the Merchant and I. COMDATA already knew i was receiving the refund and should have left it as that. Sent a reply to the email 2/26 no reply so now they will have to deal with me and BBB because their practices are completely out hand. I never had to go through this much a fiasco to get money that rightfully belong to me.

Anyone who has to use this card:

1. Don’t save your money on any of their card products ( They will allow whoever conned you get away with it and leave you to suffer.) Oh, and disputing when funds are stolen or to be credited back they wont do it.

2. Customer Service: They may act like they’re sorry but they are not. And expect to get the runaround when it comes to getting YOUR money back

3. Don’t bother asking for their Fraud Dept. ( They will just say the fraud team works “offline.”

4. If you can avoid them, even better.

Garbage

These fools don't allow funds to be transferred to another account or even to another account with them, can't use the card for PayPal, Venmo, or cash app. They refuse to send me a check for my funds and say the only way to get my funds is to use an ATM or a low fee ATM that has a $400 withdraw limit either way comdata has a $1000 per day withdrawal limit. They said I can't even close the account.

And before comdata replies saying to call them. I have called every week for a month.

Peor si tecomunicas con una gente incopetente, al numero de tu tarjeta de debito.

Had a charge on card where a hotel held 100$ deposit been waiting since the 16th of October I filed disputes with comdata n I get they sent review to thier charge backs dept I never got any updates n finally had to file with the BBB n dispute the hotel all because it's a prepaid card

Comdata.com by FINTWISH & MasterCard

1) To the former complainers: Do not believe that Comdata.com will allow you to move money off your employer pay MC into your own personal bank, after you go online to fill out another direct deposit form on their web site. Other complaint sites have stories from other users who never got their $ off their Comdata.com or FINTWIST MC Master Cards. We need to contact the real MasterCard company which gave Comdata FINTWIST permission to issue employee pay cards with the MasterCard MC logo and complain to the REAL MasterCard company - that they never should have allowed Comdata & FINTWIST to use their Logo. 2) Master Card is allowing Comdata.com to allow VehicleStory to Steal from all of us.
I have the same complaints as those below, PLUS my Master Card issued through my Employer EmployGig's employee pay company Comdata.com through FINTWIST has also ignored my six requests to have the VehicleStory charges reversed and issue me a refund. You know Chase or CapitalOne refunds their customers and goes after fraudsters, but not Comdata.com Comdata.com also has to be avoided because they directly steal from their customers and allow all other types of scams to be done to us as well. For example, a woman has complained online that Comdata Fintwist cancelled her MC and issued her a new one, but her old one got re-opened and all her savings transferred from her new card over onto her old card (which she no longer had) and someone used up all her savings at various locations in Miami, FL where she has never traveled to.
