Co-op Insurance Avis 

The user interface was quite clunky, and when I went to get some vital information, I returned to find that I had been logged out and all my previous entries had been lost - not something I expect in 2026. 2FA codes supposedly sent did not arrive. Eventually, however, I ended up with more insurance for significantly less annual premium, so my perseverance did pay off. The acid test, though, is how well or not they deal with any claim in future: not something this review can capture.

Quick and easy didnt take long at all

The website was so easy . No unnecessary questions. Just insurance and nothing else. And so cheap? One third of the price of the post office. I’m very, very happy.

Easy & quick to use

Had to make a small change to the policy and the process was very easy annd efficient, the admin fee was also waved which was greatly appreciated. Very friendly service.

I got a reminder for the renewal of my Co-op car insurance policy but had a better offer elsewhere. So I logged into my Co-op account and clicked to turn off auto renewal and all seamed well. Later that week I got a meassage saying my policy had been renewed against my wishes and upon checking my bank account saw that not only was there a pending full payment for the unwanted policy but there were TWO pending payments, they charged me TWICE!

I contacted customer services who said they would cancel the policy and sort it all out, unfortunately the first payment has now cleared the second is still pending.

Second call claims I should be refunded once BOTH payments have cleared but it could take up to 14 days!!!

What a shambles, be careful it you try to leave Co-op Insurance they may take unauthorised payments from you.

Total nightmare
Everything was okay until I was timed out while I was reading the policy details and T and C which took quite a long time when you consider how many pages there are. I don’t suppose many people actually do read them.I retrieved the quote but couldn’t get back to where I was so went to chat box didn’t understand what I wanted so put me through to an advisor. I wanted to make sure I had completed the request to the end. He asked me silly questions so I in the end I said I guess I’ll just have to pay it now. I clicked on the proceed to payment but the screen didn’t come up. I then went back to retrieve my details again and got to the proceed to payment again and a screen I hadn’t seen before popped up and I was able to make payment. By this time I was totally fed up and distressed. I am 76 years old but still have my faculties hence my comments

Very poor at resolving problems.
First contacted them on the 11th june after my online access to my policy was frozen to changes??. I've made several contacts by phone and online chat to try and get this resolved by nothing happens despite continual promises. I now need to cancel the policy as I've sold the car. I have previously been told by insurances companies it is illegal to have insurance in a vehicle you don't own!. Assume it stops them being flagged as uninsured by ANPR ??.
Was told last week by reply to my previous review about the problem someone would contact me, noone did so phoned again and went through the same loop, "yes we can cancel it" - "oh it won't let me" , - "I'll escalate it for you". BUT nothing happens to fix it.
Hopeless company.
I'm guessing Aysha will give me the same reply to this as last time and nothing will happen. Prove me wrong please!.
Update 010726 -- phoned up again chasing about them being unable to cancel my policy. After waiting & speaking to someone for a total of 90 mins then conclusion was that I should receive an email from the complaints team tomorrow to say they will start the complaints procedure and someone might be able to then refund and cancel the policy if they can fix the systems!.bid they can't I will have to wait 8 weeks before I can take it to the financial ombudsman.
Unbelievable poor service from Coop that noone can manually just say we'll cancel the policy and refund manually.

Ayhsa -- I presume asking someone to phone me will have the same result??

02nd July - latest issue-- despite repeated promises on phone call yesterday (1st July) that I would definitely get a reply from complaints department today, I have heard nothing.
Aysha phoned me yesterday and apologised but said she couldn't do anything herself but would pass on the problem.
They coop have a completely useless system when it comes to problems and cannot do anything manual to override them. By their own admission I am owed circa £300 as a refund for the policy they have cancelled (eventually) but I have no idea when or how much they are going to pay me. They really are a totally incompetent insurance setup. The people are good but they can't do anything, "computer says so".

I renewed my car insurance without any fuss. Quick and clear instructions on how to renew and all set up in basically 5 minutes.

Customer service excellent Jess sorted out my query about the change in my policy efficiently and quickly Everything was clearly explained and had a helpful attitude

The information was set out really well on the website; much better than other insurers. The features were generous for a single trip to Norway (covering hiking and swimming as standard, as well as the expected travel coverage of passports, baggage, canx, etc).

Easy to use website; good customer service and very accessible.

I would give more but I can’t open the documents attached to the email so pointless so all I have is a policy number
