Massive quote to change car or £50 cancellation fee
Having held a full, clean driving licence for over 35 years, and no accidents in over 7 years (last one was a non fault), the quote for my 64 plate car in October 25 was very competitive at around £270 for the year. However, when I contacted them to change my vehicle to a 19 plate car (similar spec) in June 26, the current underwriter would not quote and the 'cheapest' one came back at £1700!!!! No thanks = a £50 cancellation fee. Wondering if this is a ploy to charge fees rather than change policies. Got a new policy with another very well known company for £300.

Sometimes when a change is requested to your policy, the amended details can be declined due to the underwriting criteria set by the insurer providing your cover. Where this happens we do look at alternative options such as providing you with a new quote though a different insurer from our panel of underwriters. We understand having to pay a cancellation fee in this situation can be disappointing, and we have passed your details across to the relevant team, who will be in contact with you to discuss your concerns further.

Extremely straightforward to arrange my renters content insurance,no jargon couldn't believe my luck!!! Compared to comparison sites which in my view is a total nightmare 😞

I was reluctant to get my travel insurance online.

The user interface was quite clunky
The user interface was quite clunky, and when I went to get some vital information, I returned to find that I had been logged out and all my previous entries had been lost - not something I expect in 2026. 2FA codes supposedly sent did not arrive. Eventually, however, I ended up with more insurance for significantly less annual premium, so my perseverance did pay off. The acid test, though, is how well or not they deal with any claim in future: not something this review can capture.
