My experience with Flowmingo AI
This was my second time using an AI for an interview. This experience was slightly better than the first one because of the level of interaction, and also the reasoning ability was improved from what I had previously experienced on a different platform. I believe that this is a really good product.
The system is also capable of reasoning, not just asking questions and receiving answers (Q&A), but it is also capable of analysing your response and tailoring a follow-up question based on the answers provided; this was probably one of the key features that stood out for me

My Interview suggestion
I am grateful for the opportunity to experience this. I didn't know what to expect considering the fact the sample interview wasn't opening, so I went in blindly. But it was an amazing experience. The interview section was seamless and very reassuring. I enjoyed it a little too much. The only complaint I have is the timing. I feel like a stipulated time frame should be allocated to each question. For instance, if you are asked to tell them about yourself. A timer should be there, to avoid people taking too long talking about themselves. I had the same issue because I kept trying to process my thoughts before answering and I noticed it was flagged. I didn't know how many minutes were allocated to each question so it made me take too long answering a question. I feel a timer should be displayed to prevent taking too long on a question.

Backend Engineer Candidate
I went through a multi-round interview process with Flowmingo AI, referred by a headhunter. The recruiter was responsive and the process itself was smooth.
The technical evaluation consisted of two rounds — one with an AI-powered interviewer, one with the Tech Lead. Both rounds focused heavily on backend engineering and system design. AI-related questions were minimal and surface-level at best (think: "what is AI?"). I passed both rounds with strong results, and according to my headhunter, I was the only candidate to pass the Tech Lead round.
The rejection feedback, however, cited a gap in "AI knowledge relative to the team's expectations." This was never reflected in the job description, never surfaced during two rounds of technical interviews, and never communicated as a key requirement at any stage of the process.
After the process, it became clear the actual expectation was closer to an AI-focused engineer embedded in product development — a meaningfully different role from what was advertised. The CEO's own uncertainty about the product direction added to this lack of clarity.
The team seems capable, but candidates should ask explicitly upfront what the actual AI depth expectation is. Passing both technical rounds is apparently not enough if the goalposts aren't defined from the start.

Engaging and quick
The setup was straightforward for me as a candidate. I was interviewing with a Chatbot that asks me follow-up questions based on my response, so the experience was more engaging than other virtual interview tools I've done.

Misleading AI Project – Turns Into Commission-Only Sales Role
I applied for what was presented as an AI-related project opportunity via Flowmingo. Based on the job description and communication, I reasonably understood that this was a project connected to AI work.
As part of the process, I was required to complete an AI interview assessment, which took time and effort. However, after completing the interview, I was invited to a completely different position titled “Talent Acquisition Business Partner.”
This role is not related to AI at all. Instead, it is essentially a commission-based sales role where earnings depend on onboarding companies to the platform and convincing them to purchase paid services. There is no fixed salary, and income is entirely uncertain.
This is highly misleading. The initial presentation suggested an AI project opportunity, but the final offer was unrelated and structured as unpaid, commission-only work. In my location, such roles are typically offered with a base salary plus commission, not purely commission-based.
Additionally, I invested my time in the AI interview under the assumption that it was part of a legitimate project pipeline. During this period, I paused participation in other paid work, resulting in a real opportunity cost.
Overall, this experience felt like a waste of time and an unfair process. Advertising an AI project, conducting unpaid interviews, and then offering a commission-only sales role is not transparent and does not meet professional standards.
I would strongly advise others to carefully evaluate such offers before investing their time.

From what you described, there seems to have been confusion between an AI-related project communication and a separate Talent Acquisition Business Partner opportunity. A mismatch like that can understandably feel misleading, even if it was not the intention.
For Business Partner roles, the commission-based structure is meant to be stated upfront. If that was not clear in the information you received, then that is something we need to take seriously.
