Dear Mélia Richard-Duran,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. However, several statements in your review do not reflect the information and communication we received during your employment.
From the day of your arrival until the day you decided to leave after one month, you never formally informed us of the serious issues described in your review. The only email we received stated that the position did not match your professional expectations.
You originally applied for a waitress/hostess position. As an additional opportunity, we managed to secure a Guest Relations placement for you. We were not informed that the hotel later reassigned you to restaurant hostess duties, and we understand that this was due to operational needs and your limited experience in Guest Relations. At no point were you dismissed; the hotel tried to keep you employed and offered alternative positions.
Regarding your arrival, you informed us that there had been some misunderstandings, and we discussed them by phone. Unfortunately, delays in room preparation at hotels can happen, especially at the beginning of the season. During the hotel's opening period, the staff restaurant was also not fully operational, which is why meals were temporarily limited. Once the hotel resumed normal operations, three meals per day were provided as usual.
Concerning accommodation, we recognize that staff housing is not luxury accommodation and standards may vary from one property to another. Nevertheless, we never received any complaints from you suggesting conditions were unsafe or unacceptable.
We would also like to clarify that you were fully paid for the period you worked. Payroll records confirm this. Furthermore, you chose to leave before completing your contract and without providing prior notice.
We understand that expectations and reality do not always align, and we genuinely regret that this experience was not satisfactory for you. However, for the sake of transparency and fairness to future candidates, it is important to present the facts accurately and in their proper context.
We wish you success in your future career.
