Very Poor Quality

Initially we were very pleased with our two new Hib Vapor cabinets and they looked good in our newly refurbished bathrooms. They cost over £1300 for the pair and we looked forward to many years of use. 6 months later the mirrors are starting to develop black spots around the edges and one of the cabinets now makes a constant, irritating, humming noise. The motion sensors have minds of their own and only work when they want to. Hib, via the supplier, have offered new doors and a transformer; they haven't offered an engineer to come and replace the parts for us. And from reading others experiences, it would seem that any replacement parts are likely to fail in a similar timeframe.
We paid a premium price for what we thought was a premium product. Like many other contributors on this site we are sadly disappointed with the product and advise potential purchasers to look elsewhere.

Awful quality, customer service rude and dismissive

Purchased an expensive bathroom light that connects to Bluetooth for music. Before I purchased from a bathroom store, I asked if the salesperson could call HIB to check that the metal plate on the light would not rust with moisture. We were assured that this would not happen . The light is now absolutely covered in rust and fit for the bin. Customer service would not help, were rude and dismissive. Don’t bother wasting your money on their awful products because you will live to regret it. Once they have your money, they are not interested.

Looks good but poor quality

Original review (15/10/23): We had a HiB Vega 1200 mirror installed when we renovated our bathroom. It looks great and when new it functions well. However, after a while the LED lights around the edge of the mirror start to fail, leaving a patchy appearance. After some negotiation with HiB product support the mirror was replaced under warranty via the vendor. Then exactly the same thing happened to the replacement mirror, which also got replaced. So we are now on our 3rd mirror which within a year of being installed has developed precisely the same problem. HiB now refuses to honour their 2 year product warranty on the grounds that we are well beyond the original warranty period. This product is clearly defective. It’s an expensive mirror and it’s highly unsatisfactory that the manufacturer will not accept responsibility for its defects. Be warned!
Update 26/10/23: To be fair to HiB they have now replaced the mirror once again. Only time will tell whether this replacement will be better than the previous ones.

Bought a Hib bathroom cabinet

Bought a Hib bathroom cabinet. The side has blown at the top and bottom on one side. Got referred back to where we purchased it and they have approached Hib. Hib won't help and say that this is in a splash zone. The shower in the bathroom is fully enclosed within a glass shower cubicle. There is a strong extractor fan in there and the window is always open. There is physically no way the cabinet ever gets wet bar washing our hands....Not fit for purpose. Wish I could attach pictures. Terrible product

Do not buy products, instead of handling warranty issues themselves they will fob you off to the retailer

We ordered a HiB Dusk mirrored cabinet and realised that an end clip for the LED was missing, so contacted HiB and rather than replace the missing item under warranty they fobbed us off to the retailer who cannot help if HiB won't replace the parts!

Wish I had read these reviews first.

As someone else stated - turning the light on makes an obnoxiously loud tone to activate the Bluetooth which is annoying as the Bluetooth was a feature that we hoped to use maybe once every now and then.

Also it’s impossible to level the door as the adjusting grub screws max out long before the door levels due to it being far too heavy for the hinges.

This is all within the first day of installation - guess I have rusting mirrors and LED failure to look forward to as well going by everyone else’s reviews.

Do not buy. This is cheap crap at a premium price.

INFERIOR HIGH PRICED PRODUCTS

We purchased the HiB Libra magnifying bathroom mirror (Art no. 21400) and within 18 months half of the LED illumination stopped working. We reported this to the supplier who contacted HiB who said out of warranty and so could not help. Within another couple of months the whole LED illumination had failed with HiB claiming the LED were not replaceable. At over £300 this is supposed to be a premium product. Please do not purchase this company's products they are not worth the money.

We bought a Hib mirror cabinet with…

We bought a Hib mirror cabinet with bluetooth about four years ago, the first mirror door degraded around the edges within 18 months and was replaced.

The second mirror also started to degrade after a year even though I took the precaution of sealing the edges with silicone. After another six months the light and bluetooth gave up completely. The door now looks dreadful and I need to replace the whole cabinet - not with another Hib!

These products just aren’t robust enough for everyday domestic use.

I needed support and HIB were there for me.

I bought an Isoe cabinet with an integrated toothbrush charger, the charger failed after a year. I contacted James Pemberton at HIB, gave him the details and proof of purchase and he sent me the replacement part within 5 days, easy to fit and good as new.
The point is not that an electrical component can fail (they all can) but the promptness and ease of response to remedy it. You don't know when you initially purchase the item what the after-sales service will be like, safe to say I'm now glad I paid the Brand premium for a quality HIB product, as when I needed support they were there for me. Well done James at HIB - you are an asset to the Company. Recommended.

Two LED cabinets one is faulty- they say it's normal...…

Bought two LED bathroom cabinets totalling over £1500. One is always buzzing. Raised it immediately after it was installed and was told it was a transformer issue, so they sent a new transformer and I paid to get it fitted. Cabinet still buzzes, now being told that the buzzing noise is normal....errr ok. I only want a refund for one but apparently I must return both...errr ok. for the price paid, definitely not worth the hassle or inconvenience.

HiB Product Service Team provided a replacement cupboard door within 8 working days of my initial enquiry on 23rd December 2022. Excellent service, especially over the Christmas and New Year period.

Lovely cabinet, great customer service. I was missing a latch to hold one of the doors shut. The retailer would not assist, so I emailed a photo of the missing latch to HiB. They replied on the next working day to say they had sent one out to me. It was exactly the right part. Thank you

AVOID HIB

We bought a HIB Vanquish led cabinet, and the lights failed within 2 years. This was replaced, but now this has failed, exact same led issue, again within 2 years, but HIB don't want to know . My £900 cabinet is scrap. I believe the lights, and therefore the cabinet, arent fit for purpose. Just going by the amount of led failures mentioned in the other reviews, and the number of mirrors with faulty lights for sale on ebay etc.

We bought a HiB verve bathroom mirror…

We bought a HiB verve bathroom mirror in February 2020. The hinge developed a fault in October 2022 and HiB provided us with a replacement cabinet, even though the cabinet is out of warranty. Other than the hinge the cabinet has provided faultless service and is of excellent quality. I highly recommend HiB products based on my experience.

Great design and function but with a flaw

I got the Duplus mirror which has a heated pad, led lights that can be changed in warmth and charger socket. It's a very nicely designed and put together product a definite plus. The major downside is the internal transformer, it's noisy. Not to the extent of a loud buzz but it is a low constant buzz if your hearing is good. In the dead of night I can hear it in bed so I have to close the door otherwise I can't focus away from it. We don't have a bath but if I was the sort who relaxes in one, it would drive me nuts unless I played music over the top. Hib did replace the unit for me, which is good service, but it's just the same. Clearly in a showroom you won't hear it but in your home you may if you have acute hearing.

Not recomended.

Be careful with the current Bluetooth mirror range. Every time you switch on the mirror light it makes a loud beeping noise. This cannot be turned off or turned down which isn't ideal at 3am in the morning when going to the toilet and everyone else in the house is trying to sleep. Peeing in the dark is no fun either.

We’re very happy with our HIB Vanquish…

We’re very happy with our HIB Vanquish 120 heated bathroom mirror.
It was installed just over 12 months ago and has worked great an till most recently were a couple of the L.E.D lights started to go a little dim.
We contacted HIB and was dealt with by a gentleman called James who registered a warranty claim and had a replacement mirror on our doorstep within a week, wow what an amazing after care experience.
Definitely buy this product with confidence.

AVOID

I have 2 heated, mirrored, bathroom cabinets. Both are "rusting" around the edges of the mirrors, both within the offered guaranteed period. HiB "Making bathrooms beautiful" I dont think so. They refused to swap as they state that the guarantee period is from point of manufacture and not from point of sale. The company we purchased from no longer deal with HiB !! I wonder why?
