Disappointing High Pressure Sales Calls
Very disappointing experience with Home Energy Counsel. A cold call high pressure sales approach.
The website was extremely vague with very little technical or financial specificity. Lots of broad claims around “funding”, “savings” and “eco solutions”, but very little transparent information on:
- actual system pricing,
- finance terms,
- APR,
- equipment,
- projected generation,
- or realistic ROI assumptions.
The sales approach also felt unnecessarily pushy. I specifically asked whether the process and proposal could be handled via email so I could review the numbers properly in writing before progressing.
I was told the “funding” would effectively be passed to someone else if I didn’t continue the process directly.
That was a massive red flag for me.
Any legitimate solar or energy provider should be perfectly capable of providing:
- written quotations,
- technical specifications,
- finance illustrations,
- and savings assumptions
without pressuring customers into face-to-face or verbal sales processes.
Consumers should be very cautious about any company reluctant to put details in writing early in the process.

To clarify, we absolutely provide written quotations, technical specifications, finance illustrations, and projected performance information. However, we only do so after carrying out a proper assessment of the property and the household’s energy usage.
Unlike companies offering generic “off the shelf” proposals, we believe solar and battery systems should be designed around the individual property, taking into account factors such as roof layout and orientation, shading, electricity usage patterns, tariff structure, and future household requirements. Without this information, any figures provided upfront would only be broad assumptions and could ultimately be misleading.
Our consultations are intended to give homeowners the opportunity to ask questions, understand the technology fully, and receive a tailored proposal based on their specific circumstances.
We are also sorry if any part of the conversation felt overly sales focused, as that is never our intention. We continually review our customer experience and appreciate all feedback provided.

SolarPanel and battery supply
Overall the service and support we received with installation and setup was excellent.The advice we received was informative in regard to what would suit our property best to get the most out of solar. After installation we had difficulties switching our energy supplier plan. I contacted the customer service who put me in touch with a friendly support engineer who talked me through the process and next steps. While we are making a saving on our electric, the saving is not as much as first advertised and this system may not be suitable for all homes, this was explained at the time of sales and installation. However, we feel there is a benefit to being a cleaner energy user. We would recommend this company.

Excellent service, great product, would recommend
Service from initial consultation to installation was excellent by all staff. Lots of information, advice and guidance provided. Timescales were kept. Quality of products has been excellent and we are seeing a difference in electricity use already, we are 5 months in over the bad weather months as well. Constant checks re customers satisfaction from company.

Excellent from start to finish
The gentleman help4homes sent out to explain about the solar panels was very pleasant and knowledgeable, he did not push us for a sale. He simply gave us the info we needed and gave us time and space to make a decision. The panels were fitted without any real hassle, with the exception of the scaffolders, they were the only issue, other than that I was very pleased with the process.

I had solar panels fitted by Help4Homes and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. Communication was clear and straightforward, the team turned up when they said they would, and the installation itself was carried out professionally and efficiently.

Professional from start to finish
Professional from start to finish.
I was dubious to begin with as I don’t like letting sales people in to my home but there were no hard sales pitches. Sarah just worked out if it would save me money or not and then recommended which way to go.
The system was then installed within 2 weeks as promised. The fitters were very professional and polite And completed very neat and tidy installation, I cannot fault them.
On completion there was a tiny dispute with the main office on what I expected to happen next but this was quickly resolved by them which I was more than happy with.
Over all I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ecoway renewables
